the mall and the fight spilled into the bath and body works store. >> doesn't appear they were people out looking for other groups of people. looks like two groups of kids that were looking with their eyes and it escalated from there. >> police are still investigating what started the fight. right now they don't know if it was gang-related. officers say they have everyone involved in custody. richmond police are investigating a shooting on interstate 580. it happened near harbor way. 580 remained closed for about 25 minutes last night as officers gathered evidence. no word on any possible injuries or suspects. now to that bombshell october surprise in the race for the white house. we've learned a secting probe has led to that renewed fbi investigation into hillary clinton's e-mails. and with just ten days to go until election day, clinton's campaign is now firing back and donald trump is enjoying the moment. here's abc7 news anchor dan

after five years of drought, october rains are certainly a welcome sight. nearly one year ago the bulk of the state was in severe, extreme or exceptional drought. but the 2016 water year ended last month. the department of quarter resources summarized it as a snow drought with meagher -- meeger precipitation. they say it's the steady rains that are perfect to replenish the state's reservoirs. >> the rain in december and january, we aren't losing the moisture out of the snow to the ground. we allow that to then run off in the spring. officials expect this weekend's storms to bring snow for sections of the sierra nevada. time now is 6:08. lisa, an hour ago we talked about the fog. is it still lingering? >> we do have the fog, 7 or 8-mile visibility but also mist and drizzle outside. emeryville a muggy 63 degrees. also low 60s in hayward,

year ice mussels. uc scientists have found a high level of freshwater algae toxins in mussels from the san francisco bay. the toxins go long the recommended guidelines for consumption, which can cause liver damage they believe the toxins are coming from the rivers that flow into the delta. of the drought is appearing to make the issue course along the california coast. happening today, caltrans will blow up another pier that supported the old eastern span of the bay bridge. traffic on the bridge will be briefly stopped and the newly opened bike path to yerba buena island will be closed today. today's implosion is schedule ford 11:00 this morning. >> now the accuweather forecast with lisa argen. >> good morning. more showers in the forecast today. the bulk of the activity will fall 24 hours from right now, tomorrow morning.

here's live doppler 7. you see a smattering of light showers, mainly mist and drizzle around the bay. we do have a ments bit of fog as we go further to the north. this is where the main activity is. north of our radar sight on -- e on top of mount st. helena. here's what we are anticipating. it's a stronger storm system. it's a colder system that will bring snow to the sierra nevada, gusty winds and heavy downpours tomorrow. that's how we bring in the storm impact scale. that's why we do it because we want to advise you what to expect tomorrow. sunday morning heavy downpours, slight chance of a thunderstorms. winds gusting to near 40 miles an hour. this is ahead of the front, while you are sleeping, behind the front and then the showers throughout the day. let's take you lou this morning. 7:00 notice mainly in the north bay, and then by 8:00, 9:00, 10:00 you can see a little bit more widespread shower activity. this will be very, very light.

many drivers are sticklers about keeping their cars in perfect shape. a small businesswoman in san francisco says she treated her car like a baby, but still ran into a problem. that's why she got some help from "7 on your side" michael finney she puts a lot of love into her san francisco catering business. >> a lot of fajitas. >> she also puts a lot of love into her new mercedes s.u.v. >> this car is as adored as my son. >> she parks far from traffic, hardly drives it. >> i take my car up to be washed every week because i love that car. >> all the tlc wasn't enough. >> i never thought anything could happen at a car wash. >> she brought her car here to auto city car wash in san francisco. when her car came out of the tunnel she noticed a crew was standing there staring at it. >> and i thought that the doesn't seem right, something is wrong. >> the manager broke the news. her moon room is cracked. >> my moon room is cracked? it wasn't cracked when i came here. what happened?

the zone went into effect this morning at 12:01 and will remain in effect until 3:00 a.m. on tuesday. police are issuing triple fines for certain infractions in the zone, including open containers of alcohol, littering and trespassing. vandals broke into a haunted out in san jose recently, stealing thousands of dollars of props and equipment. now the owners are busy making repairs ahead of their busiest weekend of the season. >> for this father and son duo in san jose, the past two days have been pretty frustrating. >> the props we spent hours on all year long just destroyed in seconds. it kind of leaves your heart broken. >> wednesday morning at westwood oak ridge mall, someone broke in, stealing thousands of dollars of sound equipment and decorations. >> i poured blood, sweat and tears into some of the stuff and it hits home a little bit when someone comes in and tries to take it away from you, if you will.

time now is 6:32. happening today, an albany teen will hold his fourth annual haunted house for a good cause. 16-year-old sam made this elaborate haunted out with animationings and moving floors. it's open for two nights only, tonight from 6:30 to 10:00 and halloween from 6:00 to 10:30. he is asking for a suggested donation of five dollars. half of the money raised goes to the almeda county community food bank. guests visiting the white house will get a special treat during the halloween season. actors portraying past presidents like abraham lincoln and teddy roosevelt can be seen around the white house. the executive mansion is also deck rated for the occasion, with choirs providing some mood music. dozens of people in one east bay city are complaining about the mail service. they say they don't get mail for days at a time and mail has been

delivered as late as 10:00 at night. one woman said she received 10 pounds of mail after three days of nothing from the post office. the postmaster said it's a serious issues, especially for people who get their medications in the mail. >> one of the most frustrating parts of this is you can't get information. people are very concerned. they want to know what's going on. they are very sympathetic with the carriers. but they can't get through to the post office. >> congresswoman barbara lee is also trying to get in touch with the postmaster for answers to the ongoing issue. fraternity and sorority parties are back on at u.c. berkeley this weekend. the greek committee posed voluntary bans on parties last week after two women were reporting being sexually assaulted. the guidelines were drawn up by a intrafraternity council. there were 22 rapes reported on cam bus or at student housing in 2015 accord to go the crime

>> good morning to you. a few scattered morning showers. live doppler 7 showing a lot of the activity is very, very light out there, confined in the north bay. we still have a southerly wind flow and that will bring more showers into the bay area the next few hours. the bulk of the activity is here, in extreme northern california. we are anticipating a much stronger system headed our way this time tomorrow. you can see it here on satellite. it will pack a pretty good punch with some heavy downpours sunday morning and gusty winds. it's 1 on the storm impact scale. we are looking at not only the gusty winds, but a slight chance of thunderstorms 24 hours from now. but right now we are looking at the showers along the coast, offshore. as we go through the 8:00, 9:00, 10:00 hour, notice we have the showers along the coast, san francisco, perhaps the north bay, all the way down to santa cruz. and then pretty much a cloudy afternoon. so 7:33 is the official sunrise.

you see hits pretty dry from the bridge. mountain view 62. 62 oakland. we are still in the warm, muggy sector of air. concord 58 and in livermore. from the roof camera you can see we are still looking at a lot of cloud cover. some fog. scattered showers this morning and then a cloudy afternoon. the next storm arrives early this time tomorrow. then we are looking at heavy rain and gusty winds out ahead of the front and behind the front. let's time it out for you. we will pick it up at 3:00 this afternoon. the 1 is for tomorrow's system because by about 10:00 you notice we are still quiet for most of the bay area except for the extreme north bay. into the overnight hours maybe a few showers. by 6:00 the front is in the north bay. we've got the gusty winds and by 7:00, 8:00, it pushes through the entire bay area. but scattered showers are behind

the system and it's going to be much, much colder. rainfall amounts anywhere from a third of an inch in san carlos. a third in san francisco. half moon bay picking up a tenth inch. in the sierra nevada it's a wnter storm warning for the west slopes and a winter weather advisory for lake tahoe. so that means snow levels down to 6,000 fet, this is tomorrow, 5:00, through 11:00, 6 to 18 inches over the passes. at lake level anywhere from a couple inches to about a half foot from kirkwood to tahoe city to donner. really the first significant event of the season for the resorts in the sierra nevada. today under cloudy skies throughout the afternoon. it's still a bit on the muggy side with mid-60s san francisco. 68 fremont. 70 san jose, concord and livermore. the accuweather seven-day forecast some showers in the next couple hours. a couple hundreds to make tenth
