>> good morning. we've made it to saturday, november 5th. thanks for joining putt. let's start with the forecast. here's meteorologist lisa argen. she's tracking the forecast for us. hi, lisa. >> good morning. we have some going out there. the low fog deck from live doppler 7. less than a quarter mile also up in petaluma. santa rosa half-mile visibility. elsewhere not a problem but an incoming weather system will bring us some rain perhaps this time tomorrow.

numbers in the 150s. look at upper 40s in the north bay. from the exploratorium camera you see it's quiet with temperatures in the mid-50s. we will look for cooler conditions throughout the weekend we will time-out the showers for you and talk about setting our clocks back. that's all coming up in a few minutes. chris. >> thank you. police are investigating a shooting that left at least ten people injured in downtown oakland. the shooting happened near 14th and broadway just a few blocks away from city hall. police say as many as three gunmen were involved. our media partner, the east bay times, reports that the shooting was the result of a dispute at a nightclub. oakland police say several people were taken to the hospital. police say many of the victims are in stable condition. no arrests have been made. a man and a woman are under arrest in connection to a death of a woman who was found dead in a park on thursday.

the body of 21-year-old karla ramirez-segoviano session was found in an east oakland park. abc7 news reporter sergio quintana has the details. >> reporter: friends and family gathered at karla ramirez-segoviano home. he sailed he knows one of the suspects also >> i knew the girl. she used to work at kfc. it shocks me because how can a a coworker do that to another coworker. >> the coworker is named laura rodgers. laura rodgers was booked into the almeda county jail on murder charges. investigators say karla had been badly beaten, stabbed and burned. her family has been distraught since she disappeared earlier this week. they said this has been awful for all of them, especially

attacks that could bring down state databases and report election results. a valuable tool is online to help you prepare for election day. click on the icon your voice, your vote voters edge election guide and in your address you will get a comprehensive resource with information on the candidates and measures on your local ballot. a university of san francisco student and former camp counsell lore has been arrested accused of upload egg child porn from his dorm room. he had more than 600 images and videos, many showing videos of children under three years old. he's accused of producing and distributing the porn. he worked near camp winters. there's no indication any of the campers are related to the investigation. and hundreds of people marched in solidarity with a protest in north dakota last night. that's where a $3.7 billion pipeline project is being built.

members of the standing rock sioux nation feared it would prison the water supply and pollute land. they wanted to bring attention to it. >> clearly it's a case of environmental race to the enth degree. people are opposing it at all levels. >> this week the president suggest the rerouting the pipeline. the army corps of engineers will make the final decision. a san francisco police officer who was nearly killed after being shot in the head is back home this morning. a mentally ill man shot kevin downs three weeks ago. yesterday he visited the police station, and sfpd cares tweeted this picture of him with his fellow officers.

>> welcome back. a former ucf surgeon is in jail related to 99 charges to illegal narcotics prescriptions. police arrested christopher owens on thursday after a five-month investigation. he was a faculty member at the university of san francisco medical center. he was fired and released this statement. ucsf takes this very seriously and told the entire staff to be aware of signs of opioid use and report it confidentially.

the charge now is just a miss misdemeanor. connections to charges of jasmine abuslin have been investigated for seven months. some of felonies but they say that's not the case here. >> based on her own statements the sexual interactions she had with police officers in contra costa county was when she was over 18. they were consensual. >> the misdemeanor charge is for a retired oakland police captain who is now in his 80s. prosecutors say he paid for sex with abuslin and will be charged with soliciting a prostitute. >> investigators say a skimmer device was found at a gas station in unincorporated mill valley. sheriffs officials say it appears it was put there during

the night. skimmer devices are used to steal personal information and credit card information. some use bluetooth technology so the thieves can access the data remotely. happening today, at&t park will be transformed into a field of science dreams for the science festival discovery day. there will be hundreds of science exhibits and games and experience from leading science and technology organizations from across the bay area. this year the festival will encourage kids to explore curiosity. it runs from 10:00 to 4:00 today at at&t park. >> there are so many great schools in the san francisco bay area but not every school is acknowledged by the u.s. department of education. the on tuesday sun valley elementary in san rafael will be awarded a blue ribbon, the highest honor given to a school. lyanne melendez tells us what makes them great. >> reporter: you know when a school is located on happy lane

there's a good chance things are probably going well for students and teachers. >> we never want to stop learning and growing and that makes this an exciting places to. >> reporter: in the case of sun valley elementary, school life is going so we they will soon receive a blue ribbon. a blue ribbon is the highest achievement for any school. this year the u.s. department of education will award blue ribbons to 279 public schools nationwide. the school hasn't be reinvented the wheel, it just knows what works for all kids, teachers and parents know not all kids learn the same way. >> make sure we throw a broad net of academic achievement so if a child cannot access the content in one way, they are provided many opportunities to be able to access the contest in a variety of ways. >> teachers also communicate professionally with each other to discuss how each child can excel. volunteers put in 100 hours a week to help students with their work. in some cases students just want someone to read with.

opened more than 16,000 playgrounds nationwide. state wildlife officials are putting dungeonness crab back on the table just in time for thanksgiving. the recreational fishing season opens today. and the crab opens on the 15th. this year's cooler temperatures and steady rain are good news for crab fish everybody men. >> there's been some spore had are radek detection of elevated levels this year north of point reyes and marin county, but not so much the health departments are recommending a closer this year. recreational season will open. >> health officials were warning against eatingth crabs internal organs, often considered a delicacy pause they can still contain concentrated levels of the potentially deadly toxin >> now your accuweather forecast with lisa argen. >> good morning to you.

petaluma, half moon bay, half-mile santa rosa fog. it's chilly out there with temperatures pretty cool. 10-degree spread in some parts of the'. but we are looking at an incoming front that will allow for increasing clouds today and a return to some fog along the coast. so probably enjoying the warmer-than-average temperatures the past week. right now you can kind of make out the fog on the golden gate bridge. it's 55 in san francisco. 45 in gilroy. as we take a look outside our window here, numbers in the 40s from napa. and 46 in livermore. so overall, yeah, pretty much everyone, anywhere from 3 to about 4 degrees cooler. look at the coast, 9 degrees cooler. that's due to the low clouds and the on shore push. we look for the changes to come throughout the afternoon. it will be cooler throughout the day today with the southwest

winds and allowing for some showers, specifically in the north bay tomorrow morning and the mild fall weather continues for most of next week. a huge surf out there. a high surf advisory tonight into tomorrow. look at the wave heights already, anywhere from 9 feet to 14 feet. we are looking at the sneaker waves and swells up to 15 feet. let's take you through the day hour by hour. we have the fog and you notice by the afternoon clouds begin to increase, especially in the north bay. but in the east bay, that cal game looking pretty good. partly cloudy skies, sunny down in stanford. we are looking at temperatures today a couple crease cooler. low 60s half moon bay, low 70s inland. pleasant. we are bringing in our storm impact scale late tonight into tomorrow. this will feature the weak system to the north of us. scattered light rain showers. less than .2-inch. and we are looking at light winds. we want to highlight the area where we think you will see the scattered showers. but you know what? you will probably sleep through

hairstyling products for several months. the goods came from a known counterfeit ex-porter in asia. >> we target those involved in global trafficking of counterfeit goose because of the threat to the u.s. consumer and to u.s. industries. >> abc seven news spoke to investigator jeffrey branigan about the case. >> there's a health risk or safety risk because we don't know what chemicals or products are used. >> but for unsuspecting customers, the counterfeit goose appear to be legit. >> you can kind of tell sometimes when it's fake but it looked exactly the same more the most part, same packaging. >> but upon closer inspection you be can tell something is off, which is cause for concern. the santa clara attorney's office is reviewing the case for potential charges. >> you could a breakout. it could get into your

display at the chinese historical society's museum after a five-month hiatus. the paintings were in the 50s. they went missing sometime in the 70s. they were found again in 2010 when they showed up in an auction. historical society brought some and others went to a private collector. you can see the full set of 12 this morning. the grand opening is at 10:00. city hall is looking more colorful. this was a shot from our sutro tower camera last night showing the building lilt up in red, white and blue to remind people to vote. election day is tuesday, but if you live in san francisco, you can vote early at city hall today and tomorrow from 10:00 to 4:00. that's always neat to see, lisa. >> yes. very festive. looking at a wide range of temperatures this morning and some fog. it's a mild 61 in the san ramon valley but how about 44 in santa rosa? so lots of 40s in between. even in the east bay. and fog at the coast.
