in new york for abc. back to you. >> thank you, we have seen peaceful protest buzz we have also seen fire, broken glass and people angry about the next president, and that was round one of the protesters around the bay area and the next round happened in a few hours. our reporter is in oakland. >> here is what the outrage in oakland last night looked like. the damaged window an example of one of several businesses that suffered damage like this, a new restaurant only here for a career and now dailying with having to replace the huge window, this is just one example of men of what happened last night in oakland. >> city crews in oakland spent the morning cleaning up from last night's outrage over the presidential election. the damage disappointed many who worked downtown. >> there is a republican to be outraged, a reason to be angry. however. destroying our own communities

is never the answer. >> oakland pegs say it was a crowd of 250 that marched up-and-down broadway starting around 11:45 breaking windows at five businesses and set garbage on fire while shouting "not my president." police say they gave them their space and did not need to move in. >> at 2:30 or 2:45 the crowd started to disperse. we had a presence but we monitored it. a woman in her early 20 was hit by a car when the protest moved to highway 24. driver stopped, but the protesters vandalized her car, breaking the back window. the woman who was hit is in the hospital in stable condition. >> another protest is set for later today. people we spoke with this morning are hoping it won't turn violent. >> destruction is not going to solve anything. it gets your voice heard but not

in a good light. >> today's protest is set for 5:00 this afternoon at the plaza, and the c.h.p. tells me they are looking at video right now trying to identify the people would vandalized the car on highway 24 last night. thanks, so much, high school students throughout the bay area of organizing walk outs in response to trump's victory this morning, and sky 7 is over berkeley high school where 2,000 students walked out of class and assembled on the squad at 9:00 dressing all in black, a chef unity. >> that is what the walk out at another high school looked like in east oakland an hour ago, you can see students gathering at the campus flag people also displeased with the outcould election. >> in oakland, technical high school on broadway street, students there also staging a morning walk out at the campuses and sky capturing video of the large cud of students.

that accident afake the senate's balance of power so here is how it shakes out. republicans are keeping their senate majority. right now it is 51 republicans and 43 democrats and two independents who usually vote with the democrats and two that are still not projected but that will still not affect the balance of republican national conventions are in control. the house of representatives keeps the g.o.p. majority, republicans 235 and democrats 194, six not projected and that mean we have a clean republican sweep. the presidency, the senate, and the house of representatives. now, all g.o.p.-controlled. all the big race is congressional district 17, silicon valley, khanna defeated mike honda. four years ago honda narrowly beat back the challenge, and honda was seeking a 9th temperature, and khanna got 60%.

>> marijuana is officially legal in california. it has been for medical purposes and new recreational. the passage allows adults to use marijuana there the measure leashes it up to local cities and counties to implement regulation and control of the contribution and sale of the drug like they do with alcohol. voters approve this soundly, 56 to 44%. >> prop 56, the cigarette tax passed raising price of cigarettes by $2 a pack and other tobacco products and e-cigarettes, 63%, absolutely did go through. >> two death penalty measures on the ballot. prop 62 was shot do with 54% against it and 46 for it that would have gotten rid of the death penalty altogether. another measure on ballot, prop 66 dealing with the death penalty narrowly passed with almost 51% of voters, 49% against, speeding up or stream lanes the death penalty process

>> develop news in san francisco, police are investigating a homicide on a busy area of polk street a man in his 50s was found suffering from serious injuries at 4:00 a.m. he was taken to the hospital and unfortunately he did not survive. police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. >> back to our coverage of your voice your vote, the markets are reacting positively after last night's stunning election. we will look at the big board, and right now we up 219 points up and for most of the morning since opening at 6:30 our time.

absolutely gorgeous. normally, the fog originates over the ocean and blows toward the camera. from mount tam, hazy sunshine, above-average temperatures and tomorrow is cloudy and sprinkles are possible on saturday and better chance of measurable rain for all of us next week. high clouds are over the top of us and more coming our way which is the warm air, we call those warm air convection clouds, bringing low-to-upper 70s in san francisco and livermore at 77 and same in san jose and nearly 70 along the coast but be careful if you are there until 6:00, the waves are smaller than yesterday, and still pushing 17 at half moon bay and, also, down around the monterey bay, strong rip currents and sneaker waves and we have it all possible through 6:00. this is how it looks as far as our afternoon to evening plan or temperatures in the unper 60 to mid-70s at 2:00, and we are in the mid-60s at coast and low-to-mid 70s at 4:00, although we are an hour away from the sunset with
