of breaking into a neighbor's home. hillsboro police shared this video on facebook. it was captured near darrow road earlier this month. overs say the black bmw stood out because one of its burning lights was found out. on friday a car matched the description was stopped and they found stolen property along with three suspects. a close call in san jose. a driver slammed their bmw into maple leaf doughnuts in camden avenue. it happened around 11:30 this morning. the viewer shared these pictures with us. she said three customers and the two shop owners were inside at the time and look at that. luckily nobody was hurt. >> just a two minutes ago san francisco firefighters lifted an evacuation order project by a gas line leak. it was in the mid-town neighborhood as crews capped the league on park avenue near race street. the fire department evacuated about 50 homes and businesses as gas leaked into sewer lines. about 40 customers remain without gas right now and

firefighters say a construction crew hit the line. bay area students marched in protest of donald trump today. a march to city hall chanting not my president and build love, not a wall, and in menlo park several hundred students marched through the city on willow road all the way to highway 101 this afternoon. police kept a close watch on them and always peaceful and abc 7 news viewer paul holland shared this video with us. >> fremont police are also tracking a student protest outside of washington high school. police tweeted this picture saying the students had signs promoting love and equality. in alameda parents, students and school officials at edison elementary school greeted all families today. this weekend someone wrote racist graffiti on the exterior of the school and it's been cleared up now. organizers today of everyone belongs here effort wants to

make sure everyone felt welcome. hillary clinton has just been declared the winner of new hampshire's presidential contest. new hampshire has four electoral college votes bring clinton's total to 2232 to donald trump's 290. donald trump has a slim lead in michigan, the state only still undecided with 16 electoral college votes. meanwhile the number of uncounted votes in california has gone up since last week. the secretary of state reports that are more than 4.5 million ballots still to tally. clinton's national lead in the popular vote is now 670,000. the remaining ballots in california should push it to nearly 2 million. now, this presidential election is sparking renewed debate about whether the electoral college should be eliminated. much of that has come from here in california which vote, as you know, overwhelmingly for hill hi. abc 7 news reporter laura anthony is live now in walnut creek with more on the story. laura? >> hi, dan. we've seen a lot of protests in recent days. much of it calling for the

airbnb is crying uncle. the home rental website says it's now willing to give out information to the city of san francisco about its clients. abc 7 news reporter lieian melendez is live in the newsroom to help explain this change of heart. lyanne. >> reporter: airbnb simply ran out of ways to force people to register, and they are still fighting. for example, with regard to a proposed 60 day-cap on most airbnb rentals the company said residents will be harmed by this newest proposal. kipa has long been an airbnb host. when the medical bills started piling up, she turned to the

home-sharing site. >> other people are paying for dental work, taking care of elderly parents. i mean, everybody's got a story. >> reporter: she is registered with the city as an airbnb host and many more are not. after years of holding out, airbnb now says it will cooperate with the city and its mandatory registration system by giving out names and addresses of their hosts. why the sudden shift? last june the board of supervisors passed an ordinance that said airbnb could only collect booking fees off the units that are legally registered. airbnb went to court to try to stop city but last week a federal judge hinted it would not side with airbnb. >> that more than anything else has -- has driven them to the position where, okay, well, maybe now it's time to make nice and to follow some rules. >> and i'm getting emotional because of this situation is very scary to me. >> reporter: that i had at a committee hearing people voiced their disapproval with another proposed ordinance that would

cap the rentals to no more than 60 days a year. the full board votes tomorrow. >> and known all of you make it more easy and comfortable and less threatening for people not signed up to register and work legally. >> reporter: those who are already registered with the city being are grandfathered in and won't have to face a cap. in san francisco, lyanne melendez, abc 7 news. >> san francisco's 911 system is getting a phone upgrade. the new system is being put in this week. the department of energy -- emergency management rather says anyone calling 911 should not notice any problems. the new phone system adds extra features and improves reliability. >> what the phone system allows us to do is all the things that we're familiar with now, have the numbers and location information associations with t it. >> once the state upgrades its

infrastructure the new system will also let callers text 911 to report an emergency. the sympathy is also hiring 40 new dispatchers to cut down on caller wait times to 911. >> pg&e's parent company has a new chief executive officer. gatia williams is the new ceo. she had been in charge of the electric utility portion of the company and recently played a gee role in handling the planned shutdown of the diablo pg&e plant. the leadership shake-up is the first step in the company's succession plan. williams is the first ever female hispanic ceo of a fortune 200 company. pg&e's stock closed up half a percentage tonight today. u.s. navy has finalized its plans to expand sonar testing and war fare training along the pacific coast despite worries that those activities might hurt wildlife. you're looking at video provided by the navy. it shows some of the activities planned between north california and the canadian border. environmentalists fear underwater sonar might hurt

orcas and other marine mammals. sailors use sonar to detect submarines of course. naval commanders plan to follow rules established by other federal agencies. >> well, this is a problem you might not be able to see, but it could be hiding underneath your pickup truck or suv. >> that's right. >> and now a major automaker plans to spend billions on fixing it. >> 7 on your side's michael finney is here to tell us more. >> a huge fix comes from a lawsuit and a bunch of negotiations that have been going on. toyota agreed to repairs worth as much as $3.5 billion for u.s. owners of certain tacoma pickup trucks and "sequoia" sport utility vehicles. they reached a class action settlement involving tlt 2005 to 2010 tacoma pick tips and 2005 to tight "sequoia" suvs. the company was accused of not treating as. as 1.5 million vehicles withed a quart rust protection. one of the problems of hybrid and electric cars is they are too quiet.

mateo coast and the visibility is low in half moon bay and down to five miles and three miles in hayward so tomorrow morning you will need to allow that extra time for the commute. a live look from our emeriville camera and it's a beautiful view. san francisco 60 half moon bay 57. walnut creek camera seeing clear skies and as we take a look at the temperatures in the low to mid-60s, concord and liver more in the upper 60s and did manage to get up in the upper 70s. areas of dense fog overnight tonight and possible sprinkles tuesday and a shower chance on wednesday turning much cooler the middle of the workweek so here's a look at the hour-by-hour forecast. to the at 11:00 there will be fog around and it will get dense as we head towards the morning commute and what else may be showing up as it looks like a weak system will try to squeeze out a few showers. most of this will fall apart during the morning commute so

could see a few sprinkles right around to the santa rosa. tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. and then another possibility right around 10:00 a.m. and this is not a widespread event. it's going to be fog that you'll have to contend with tomorrow morning along with the possibility of a few sprinkles which could be -- mean a slow going commute so just allow that extra time. upper 40s to the mid-50s when you get going and that means you'll need to bundle up for the afternoon. temperatures down to the 770s that we saw today. they are gone and they will be going with 80s tomorrow. more cloud cover to the north and a little less to the south and overall it's partly to mostly cloudy for your tuesday. now we'll fast forward to wednesday. the same system hats second part to it and that may squeeze out a slight possibility of showers. 7:00 a.m. wednesday and right around the san mateo coast going into 10:00 a.m. and then that's it, you'll notice the showers skirt the coast and don't quite make it into our area. the biggest thing you'll notice is the temperatures dropping as we head into wednesday and thursday and dropping low enough in the sierra for some snowfall. a couple of inches.
