covered in blood. rivers is accused of stabbing benny to death and shooting and stabbing benny's mother and partner. documents say rivers had ammunition and knives in her pocket. she's also accused of setting the garage on fire. >> i understand there are bigger things than hate. >> my family moved here because they wanted to be who they were. in an accepting environment. >> she made headlines in sacramento, forced from her job after beginning gender transition. >> students who knew benny before he graduated have come together. >> what could be so bad? wanting to kill three people? as a former educator? and take a life of a young person? >> reporter: investigators have not said. and we're following developing news in berkeley. two teenager boys were shot this

afternoon, during a fight at strawberry creek park near bancroft way. abc 7 news was there, it happened just after 3:00 this afternoon at the park's basketball courts. a witness says 20 teenagers got into a fight. three shots were fired and everyone scattered. police haven't made arrests. investigators are trying to find out what caused a san jose duplex to go up in flames overnight. three people were able to escape the fire but you can see how big those flames got. firefighters worked quickly to keep it from spreading. the fire destroyed the house in west san jose, up for sale with a corvette. one pet escaped. firefighters believe another was killed. >> the fbi descended on a home on a quiet street in orinda. agents raided the home this morning. abc7 news was there. agents brought out boxes of electronics including a computer and told abc7 news the search is

related to a broader investigation into the theft of satellite signals. it's not clear what role occupants play into this investigation. two months into a search for a permanent police chief in oak land, interviews with candidates will start next month. the panel includes two members of the community, honoring the mayor's commitment to make the hiring process more inclusive. their community survey, one of the top priorities is to regain public trust. back in june, oakland had three chiefs resign within days of each other. >> the former police chief and current district attorney could become california's attorney general. the current ag just won election to the u.s. senate, gascone faces opposition, saying leaders in san francisco angs los angeles urged governor brown not
