finally dispaiding, but it's still there. the whole thing looked like a scene "the brady bunch" when the washing machine broke down and really wild. good evening. i'm dan ashley. >> and i'm kristen sze. >> one guy actually decided to ride his bike through the mess. take a being loop. officials definitely did not like him doing that. >> no, fun to watch but maybe not such a great thing to do. all of this happened at a hangar connected to mineta san jose airport. >> abc 7 news reporter jonathan bloom is there live now. jonathan? >> reporter: well, the first thing to know the foam is not toxic, at least not to humans. it is bad for fish which is why they are racing to get it mopped and vacuumed up before the rains wash it into the bay. of course, a lot of it has gone away on its own. a few hours ago it was tall enough to swallow up cars and people. >> looks like a huge foam party gone bad. it's at least what, 10 feet high and oozing out of building. >> reporter: folks working nearby have never seen anything like it. >> it's getting so tall and when

we saw it it was really thin, and now it's just building up. >> reporter: so tall this guy got lost in it after asking police permission to ride his bike through it. >> it just feels like soap. really feels like soap, kind of smells like it too. >> reporter: not entirely wrong. materials you would put in your bathtub as a bubble bath. >> reporter: one difference this, foam is putting our fires and made to goat the liquid of surface like gasoline. >> and if it gets in your eyes it could create a problem. keep people out of bubble. not bubbles to play in. >> lock did you don't touch. >> you can see it from all different angles and i'm sure this helicopter is getting even better views. >> reporter: sky 7 shows the size of the spill, a full city block oozing out of san jose's newest private jet hangar finished a year ago just in time for teams that played in the super bowl. a spokesperson for the company that runs it says no one was hurt when the fire suppression system suddenly activated filling the empty hang hear and the street with foam. >> we believe it to be a me can

cam issue, and we're currently investigating with the cooperation of the local authorities and the manufacture sneer and an airport spokesperson said that company signature flight support is responsible for the cleanup to prevent the foam from washingdown storm drains and harming marine life in the bay. they say they are worried about the foam getting into the guadalupe river, a habitat, they say, for a number of sensitive species. jonathan bloom, airport 7 news. >> jonathan, thank you. take a look at this video from nasa. it shows a test of the fire suppression system at one of their hangars. most large airport hangars are built with similar systems that can dump large amounts of foam to put out fires caused by burning aviation fuel. the systems are designed to dump as much as 40 feet of fire fighting foam in 15 minutes, certainly enough to snuff out an airplane fire. >> one person is dead on the crash on a san mateo county coastline and it happened near

the half moon bay airport in moss beach. abc 7 news reporter melanie woodrow is there live with more information. melanie. >> well, take a look. you can see where this plane first clipped one home and a fence and then crashed into another home. luckily the people that live in that house were not inside at the time. as you say, there were two people on board this plane. one was killed in the crash and the other was airlifted to a hospital. the single-engine cessna 127 crashed into this home around 11:20 this morning. witness whose were driving by say the plane was flying low. >> we were both looking. we're like oh, my god, this is going to crash, and shortly after that it went straight behind the trees, landed, and there was a big puff of smoke or dust and -- and the first thing we did was pull over, call 911. horrifying. absolutely. >> my phone the homeowner's niece said her aunt and uncle

were not in the house at the time. firefighters in the san mateo county's sheriff's office responded. a spokesperson says there were two passengers on board the plane. one was killed in the crash and the other airlifted to a hospital >> we do not know the roles of the people that were injured, and we don't know what caused the crash. >> we were shocked because normally we see planes flying here and nothing happened like that. >> clearly there's a risk when you live this close to a small airport. >> the san mateo county's sheriff's office secured the scene until faa investigators arrived. >> you want things to go right when you're in an airport for sure. >> ntsb is also investigating the crash. in half moon bay, melanie woodrow, abc news. san leandro police are identifying the second car involved in a running gun battle through city streets yesterday. investigators say it's a dark colored compact suv. it was captured on surveillance video somewhere near dutton avenue. police say someone in that car exchanged gunfire with a driver

of a nissan ultima. the ultimate soon smashed head on into a third car injuring two innocent people one of them, a man in his 70s, remains in critical condition. >> 60 miles per hour at the time of impact making it just unbelievable. it's one of the worst collisions that some of our investigators have seen. >> police are asking for anyone who might have witnessed the shooting to call police. all right. we are going to get a pretty good soaking in just a few hours. nbc 7 patel is here with more on what's coming. >> you're going to see gusty winds and he have rain. live doppler 7 is tracking that system that's going to mean you'll need the umbrellas all weekend long. here's a look at where it is right now on our storm impact scale. saturday's part of system a moderate storm,ed to rat to heavy rain expected in the morning and scattered showers in the afternoon and wind gusts to 50 miles per hour. wind advisory beginning at 10:00

and continues until saturday at 4:00 a.m. most of the rest of the region, 3:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. looking at gusts to 50 miles per hour with sustained winds between 20 and 35. power lines could get knocked down, and trees could go down as well. hour-by-hour look at when you'll need the umbrellas and the rainfall coming right up. kristen? >> sand yeah, thank you. for the fourth time this month students in san ramon have found racist graffiti written in the bathrooms. this is not the only school dealing with this problem. abc 7 news reporter laura anthony is live in san ramon and, laura, there's a et moog for parents tonight. >> reporter: the school district has called for a parent meeting tonight and the group to discuss just the latest in a series of disturbing incidents on this campus. >> honestly i cried this morning. >> reporter: for the fourth time in four weeks students at san ram ramon's california high have found racist graffiti scrawled on a bathroom wall again

including exme tifz and slurs aimed at african-american students and the black student union. >> we have 200 members in our bsu and have-to-have them all texting me scared to come to school today, it freaks me out. >> reporter: for a time this morning students with respect courted to the bathrooms by teachers and staff. >> the fifth incident we've had in our school incident of rates of graffiti within the last month and certainly disturbing and a challenge. >> young people are feeling a lot of anxiety, are feeling a lot of concerns. >> reporter: in dublin, congressman visited his alma mater speaking directly to civic students about how to change the dialogue. >> right now a lot of people are feeling powerless especially if you weren't able to vote in this presidential election so i want to talk to them about how they are feeling about their future and also to let them know they are not powerless, that we can work together to shape what's next. >> so far dublin high students say they haven't seen the kind of rhetoric or blatant rhetoric exhibited on other campuses. >> a lot of us are not too happy

about the results but i don't think anybody is super emotional about it now. >> upsetting to see and if we take time to give donald trump a chance and let everything cool down. >> we really all need each other no matter what we do. >> the idea sheer to choose respect and tolerance over bigotry. laura anthony, abc 7 news. >> in the meantime, students continue protesting the election of donald trump. abc 7 news was in east palo alto. about 200 students and teachers from phoenix academy marched to highway 101. students say they feel threatened by mr. trump's policies. >> he's in support of stop and frifnlgt i feel threatened because i don't want to go outside and, you know, get padded down and get humiliated by the police. >> the mayor of east palo alto showed up to encourage students to stand up for their civil rights. frisco district attorney george gascon announced that his department will reopen its hate crime hotline. he says the fear in the community since the election is reason. here's the number.

well, ready or not black friday is a week away and bay area retails are still on the hunt for seasonal employees to handle the holiday rush. news anchor eric rush is live more from daly city on why some retailers are having a tough time to find people to work. >> reporter: you have low unemployment, a lot of people in higher paying jobs, it's tough to hire people in lower paying jobs like retail, and that's the challenge facing some of these stores. temp placement firm manpower has 260 positions to fill and the bay area's health economy is working against them. >> yeah, it seems like this year the talent pool is pretty tight, and so we're having to pretty

for saturday. a 2 on the storm impact scale. moderate to heavy rain is expected tomorrow morning and scattered showers in the afternoon and wind gusts may reach as high as 50 miles per hour along the coast and higher terrain. 10:00 tonight, the north bay is starting to get that rain. moderate to heavy at times, especially tomorrow morning around 5:00 a.m. and it's widespread going into 7:00 a.m. saturday. you'll notice that it switches over to scattered showers forever the afternoon, so if you do have afternoon/evening plan, care et the umbrella with you, you'll still have wet weather around. it's not completely done. the second phase of it comes through on sunday. that's a 1, a lighter storm, and we're really looking at scattered showers for sunday morning continuing through the afternoon and even into the evening hours. as far as rainfall totals, we'll see a pretty good amount. almost 2.5 inches across parts of north bay. looking halt half to three-quarts of an inch of rain across parts of the bay area including the south and east

look, this is video from the upper deck showing chp cruisers trying to box in a car they are chasing. the suspect kept going after this. a few minutes ago the car being chased we've had in and out of traffic along east bay 87 with the highway in pursuit. >> we're told the chase started in solano county. sheriff's deputies were trying to put car over for a traffic violation. the car entered interstate 80 and that's when highway patrol overtook the pursuit. we'll bring you updates as soon as we get more. >> macy's holiday display is going to the dogs and cats. >> right. >> check it out. this is a life picture from the flagship union square store for the 30th straight year. dogs and cats up for adoption
