pedestrian will be able to access the sidewalk from either end of the bridge but they will only be able to walk as far as the closer area. today's closer will be at the south anchorage at the fort point arch. its expect today reopen at 10:00 this morning. the work will be postponed if it rains. >> now your accuweather forecast with lisa argen. >> we are getting a little bit of rain right on the bridge in a few minutes. here's live doppler 7. you see the green all around representing the heavier showers that are forecast to move through the bay area today. even a chance of thunderstorms. the atmosphere much, much cooler than it was yesterday and that's because we are behind the system that has dropped the temperature and sort of destabilized the atmosphere. right there there's a line of showers all set to move into the city. it's wet into marin county, san raw fell, highway one through novato and further to the north around santa rosa and pen drove. a few light showers. we are also looking at rain and

snow in the sierra nevada. you can see truckee, tahoe city. temperatures in the mid-30s. we have a winter weather advisory through 4:00 today. we will see a couple more inches at lake level but its really above 7,000 feet, 8 to 16 inches and 2 to 8 inches at about 6500 feet. that translates into about another half a foot around kirkwood, 3 inches donner and a couple inches at lake level. this is 51 on the storm impact scale, featuring scattered showers, light winds and a chance of a thunderstorm. a live look outside. doesn't look bad now. temperatures mainly in the 50s. 55 gilroy, 56 in mountain view. only a couple hundreds for you yesterday. we had two inches in the north bay. half-inch around monterey. yeah, amounts were very wide-ranging. today once again we will see heavier downpours in spots and elsewhere dry. from the golden gate bridge not looking too bad.

san francisco within the next 30 minutes. to the north light to moderate rain to san rafael, mill valley, and further to the north from mount st. helena down through santa rosa and penngrove. in the sierra nevada, heavy rain, blue canyon. then it changes to snow. temperatures in the low to mid-30s. outside you see the flag waving a bit. the pavement right there is dry. that should be changing with upper 30s by the delta. the forecast calls for the possibility of a thunderstorm throughout the afternoon. it will be widely scattered. temperatures will be on the cool side. that sun sets earlier and earlier, 4:55. the outlook for the week ahead where many folks have several days off will feature more rain showers. a look at that in a few minutes. >> thanks, lisa. the rain was a factor yesterday during stanford's win over cal. fans say they can't remember the last time it rained on a big game day.

can see it's not raining yet. 57 in novato, 56 hayward and livermore. there is fog and temperatures behind the cold front. yesterday's system much cooler. 10 degrees cooler in concord, 3 degrees cooler from palo alto and san francisco. so looking at the fog, it will be here and there with a quarter-mile visibility for you now over into the east way, with 9 miles in mountain view. 6 miles san jose. so nice vantage point. you can see the clouds. showers today. late on tuesday a few very, very light showers into the evening hours. high surf advisory until 3:00, anywhere from 12 to 15 feet the current wave heights. it's very, very dangerous. possibility of strong rip currents. hour by hour you notice the yellow, the green on your screen. this is 9:00. we will see more widespread showers throughout the day, into the afternoon. this is by about noontime.

then as we go towards 3:00, 4:00, things get a little quieter as the sun sets. there will still be a few light showers out there. amounts, they won't be as much as jed. perhaps .4 in santa rosa, a third of an i. where you get a heavier downpour. and into tuesday, about 6:00 you can see is some light showers. through the rest of the evening very light shower activity. it's out of here by wednesday. a few more showers, a break, then it's thanksgiving, and by that evening we should see some more showers with a little stronger system. as for today, upper 50s. a slight chance for a thunderstorm. the accuweather seven-day forecast will feature more 60s. you can see at levi's stadium today a slight chance of a shower. with the cooler weather we will have maybe some showers. then again tuesday night into wednesday morning. thursday night's system,
