>> an effort is underway to connect those people who were displaced by the four with those who want to help. >> matt is in berkeley with that part of the story. >> this is a unique building, a former mortuary and outside they teach outdoor skills to kids and adults. now, inside, they are doing something good for the victims of the ghost ship fire, collecting donations for all the people who were displaced by the fire. those people escaped with their live but not much else. one works here during the summer and the business decided to collect donations and the community has responded in a big way. >> people need hugs in these situations, they need somewhere to connect and do have direction. we trying to provide that direction. >> oakland get as bad rap but when something like this happens...whether it is here in deck or anywhere else we are supportive. it is nice to see people

experting us. >> our workers are picking items that were donated looking for practical items that people can use during the winter months, warm clothes, backpack, electronics such as 15s and computers and different cards for restaurants and retail stores like target. this is in berkeley. they are accepting donations through tomorrow evening. >> a donations are pouring in for the individuals of the oakland fire, and there has been is much support of people showing up at the sight of the fire law enforcement are asking if you want to help to do it online. jessica castro has more from the live desk. > they have been overwhelmed with all of the support, so much so that during the press conference the oakland police department asked well-intentioned folks to use crown funding websites set up to help the victims. they said the page were set up by the oakland mayor and the red cross. >> at the site we are spenting
