6.5 magnitude earthquake struck off humboldt county followed by after shock. the u.s. geological survey confirmed the earthquake 100 miles in the ocean from the coast. jessica castro talked to folks near the epi center. >> i caught up with folks by telephone in the area and they said this have been a few after shocks after the initial 6.5 magnitude earthquake at 6:49. a 4.7 magnitude earthquake at 8:42 but mostly insignificant. there are no reports of damage or injuries. >> residents were rocked of a 6.5 magnitude earthquake hit 97 miles off the coast of humboldt county along the mendocino fault line. >> i was helping a customer and we got a big jolt and he said "earthquake," and i said, a good one, and i was next to the sink and had it full of dishes and you could hear the dishes in the

firefighter in vallejo tackled a fire at a mobile home park this morning with both sides of the trailer forcing residents to leave. resident inside the trailer managed to get out alive but did suffer burned legs. the fire is under investigation. for the third time in a week a woman reported being sexually assaulted at san jose state. the latest instance was yesterday when the suspect sexually batter add woman and took off. on monday this man volume the victim into the student union and assaulted her. a third incident was reported november 30 on the stairs of swoon any hall. no incidents appear to be represented. >> now the mystery surrounding the disappearance of shasta county mother sherri papini

bringing back old memories for many people in redding. she was found on thanksgiving day and now is recovering. in 1996, 16-year-old tara smith vanished in redding and the disappearance is still a mystery. look at the photographs, they look similar and both were missing while on a jog. they went to the same high school at the tame seem. sherri papini's husband smoke with smith's parents. >> he wanted to know how to get by, and, also, dealings with the law enforcement. >> smith's father said they knew who was responsible for his daughter's diagnosis aperrance since day one. that person has never been charged and still lives in redding. to be clear, investigators say the cases are not represented. >> a new role for bay area
