let's check out live doppler 7, it's cloudy. we are tracking spotty light showers, it's the beginning of what is to come. right now, as we go the street level, we are seeing the light returns. here is the look at the wider picture. this is a major storm. it a strong category 3 storm. and it is tapping in to quite a bit of sub tropical moisture, this is what is going to soak the bay area. it's a three on our storm impact scale, that means you can expect gusts to 50 mile answer hour -- 50 miles an hour, we have a flood and urban flood vadvisory we have a high wind watch. those winds can take down trees and power lines. you see the strongest of the

>> reporter: local utilities welcome the rain, in the hopes to replace drought depleted reservoirs. >> the reservoirs are above average. and better than last year. >> reporter: meanwhile, sandbag stations have been brought in ahead of the storm. in the east barracy, abc 7 news. >> an eight-foot king tide caused problems as it does in mill valley, the sand bags are ready for the storm and they are hopeful the flood water-s will not come this time. >> if we get six inches in 12 hours, we could flood. that is not predicted in the storm, but you never know. >> rainfall in marin county is 120% of normal and reservoirs are at 83% of capacity. in pacifica tomorrow, the the city is expected to announce the need to demolish 310 esplenade due to coastal erosion.

homeowner. we are live with the homeowner. >> the homeowner posted the video on community bulletin and now everyone is talking about it. it happened at 3:30 this morning. this couple were sleeping in their hillsboro home when they heard loud noises outside their bedroom window, little did they know it was a mountain loion. >> i turned and told my husband that we had a coyote and i opened the door and said, it's not a coyote, it's a bigger animal. >> reporter: they shut the door and observed the lion from the video. it was dragging an animal away that it had just killed. >> it drug the deer over the railing. because there's deer hair all over the top.

and the dogs didn't seem to intimidate the mountain lion at all, they were barking crazy. >> reporter: mountain lions are not uncommon in this area. but it's the first time that mary and peter have seen one so close. >> we told the children to be careful when they are out. and to be aware. and to carry a stick or an umbrella with them and be big and loud if they see something. >> a close encounter this couple will not forget. abc 7 news. >> and we have posted the full video of the mountain lion and deer on our facebook page. it has been viewed 151,000 times in the last two hours. a dispute over a dog may have led to a south bay man to attack his neighbor with a baseball bat. tonight, there's a man hunt for 47-year-old mark weber, police say he is armed and dangerous. we are live at the morgan hill

police department with new details tonight. >> reporter: dan, there's a warrant out for his arrest for assault with a deadly weapon, but that could become an attempted murder charge depending on the victim's injuries. a neighbor called police last friday afternoon saying men were fighting. >> it appears that it was a argument over the victim's dog. >> reporter: when the police arrived, neitherer man would answer their doors, and so they left. then police got another call. >> mark weber told a family member that he had beat his neighbor to death with a bat and now was going to hurt himself. >> the police went back to the seen and evacuated the court. >> they had the tank thing come, with the guy with the gun at the top, and all the, you know, swat gear and tons of cops. >> reporter: officers looked through a window at the victim's house and saw a large amount of

blood, they went in and found the victim. he had major injuries to his heads, arms, body and legs. he was taken to the hospital. the suspect, mark weber was not found. >> we consider him dangerous. >> patty said she is not afraid of patty. >> i don't think he is armed and dangerous, he is scared. he is not a bad man. >> the investigators believe he is in the area. call the police if you see him. >> a san jose man was arrested for threatening to carry out a suicide bombing against the valley transportation authority. the bomb threat was sent at 9:30 this morning. prompting police to sweep the system's buses and street cars. the suspect, 43-year-old san jose resident jonathan keim complained that vta would not give him bus tokens so he could make his mental health visits. >> coming up, new scrutiny for uber's self driving cars. who are calling them renegade robots and the response from the

breaking news, two people were shot and killed in east oakland tonight, it happened at 9:00 at a gas station at 98th and edis avenue, the one victim passed away at the scene and the other victim was taken to highland hospital where he or she died. we are not sure of the gender. there's no word of an arrest or a motive for the deadly shooting. tonight the dmv has ordered uber to stop operating the self-driving cars immediately until it gets the proper permits. >> the cars hit the road for the first time today and it started well with plenty of media attention. as the day wore on, the cars' welcome wore out. it was said that they have to ensure safety of the public. that safety was already in danger today.

>> it's dangerous, what if the whole operation were to malfunction, couldn't that cause a disaster, maybe take a life? >> earlier in the day, dash cam video was taken of a uber self driving vehicle running a red light. uber said the incident was due to human error and the vehicle was not part of the pilot nor was it carrying customers. the driver was suspended. >> i think they are renegade robot cars that are not complying with our licensing and permitting laws. >> uber is not one of the 20 companies permitted by the dmv to test self-driving cars. the company said it does not believe it needs the permits, because a person is still behind the wheel monitoring the vehicles. c net reporter, derek kerr is not surprised by the company's roll of out method. >> uber likes to launch things first and then sort out of the deal with the regulators later.

>> this time, regulators are ready to take uber on. >> the state has threatened to take legal measures against uber if they don't stop. >> we have reached out to uber for comment. it's not clear what the dmv plans to do tomorrow if uber does not comply. >> for the second time in three months, tonight, yahoo is dealing a massive security breech. we are talking 1 billion users effected. names, numbers, birthdates and security questions could be out there in cyber space. the company said that the breech happened in 2013. it will notify all users effected and require them to change their passwords. so, if you have a yahoo account, be on the look out for this. a cable tv host with deep ties to san francisco could be joining the trump administration

we see a bit of wet roadway activity. but it will increase as we go to tomorrow. temperatures right now in the 50s and 60s, it is really mild from the kgo roof camera, cloud cover is stacked up as we look toward the bay. a strong storm arrives in the morning. we are looking at a windy, rainy commute with the possibility of flooding and power out acknowledges. the last time we saw a three, a storm storm was 9 months ago and it's coming in tomorrow. be prepared, gusts to 50 miles an hour, one to two inches of rain. for hills, two to five inches. flooding and wind damage possible. here is the hour by hour, 5:00 a.m., spotty showers and the steady rain will be in the north bay. heavier as the morning goes on around 6:00, still in the north bay. right around 7:00 a.m., you see yellows and oranges showing up, that's when it's going start coming down pretty hard. at 8:00 a.m., it's shifting to san francisco, it may take you

longer to get to where you need to go. at 10:00 a.m., the rain will spread more in the east bay and by 1:00, it's going and coming down hard. it's when the worst of it will hit, with the strong winds and heavy rain, downpours at 10:00 p.m., the afternoon evening commute looks nasty. so, this i going to be a slow moving storm that is going to soak the bay area as we continue in to 6:00 p.m., you are noticing the intense pockets of rain. 7:00, winds still going and as we go to the latter part of the night and in to friday, scattered showers behind the system. rainfall totals for most of you, not just a few spots, will be between 1 and 2 inners and hi high -- 1-2 inches, and higher elevations more rain. mendocina county, flood advisory.

emeryville police went above and beyond the call of duty to rescue a dog that was stuck under a marina. that is the officer carefully bringing the animal back up to safety. look how gently he did that. the dog was later reunited with its owner that had reported the dog missing earlier in the day. >> things got testy tonight. >> really? >> oh, yeah, in ottowa, couture paid for it with the back of his head. a thugish
