almost 10th avenue there. wherever it is, i tenth avenue there. wherever it is, it's freezing. drivers are apparently keeping their cars running. >> yes. >> trying to warm them up. >> it's not necessarily a good idea. as abc's clayton sandell reports, leaving your car outside is an invitation to get it stolen. >> reporter: watch these car thieves roll up on a vehicle in denver, seeing it's empty, and steal it. moments later, this guy scouts a car parked, approached, and darts to open the door, but it's locked. the homeowner sees what's going on and scares the thief away. here in this parking lot, you see a thief casually walk and speed up to get into a car. the driver comes outs to stop him, but it's too late. cars left running to warm up on cold mornings, cops called them puffers. bad guys call it a golden opportunity. police departments across the country are warning drivers not to leave their running cars unattended. >> start up the car, less than 60 seconds.

so worldly. >> it is. this is my cranberry salad going back many years, and it's a fun salad. it starts out, the secret is you get cranberries, freeze them, put in a blender, and then blend them up, or a food processor, and add sugar to it. that goes into marshmallows there with whipped cream i whipped up. that all goes in. >> wait a minute. it's called a salad. >> it is. it's a cranberry salad. no lettuce though in this salad. all cranberry. mix it up. this is crushed pineapple, adding another taste to it. ends with slivered almonds. once you mix this all up, it comes out and looks just like this.
