>> good morning. this is supposed to be here until 7:00 or 7:30 with a huge clean up underway and i will show you a tow truck attempting to flip the s.u.v. become over after the truck spilled the con departments on to the side of the freeway, and the driver has major injuries and taken to a hospital after the crash at 3:30 this morning, c.h.p. tells us the driver drifted from the 4th lane, hit a parked s.u.v. and they believe it was abandoned on the side of the freeway and careen on to the side of the road, the shoulder, hitting a large sign, wrapped around the sign and they had to extricate the driver from the s.u.v. they looking at the possibility there may have been black ice on the road or the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel but they are not sure what caused the crash. there was a usps inexpector that looked at the packages because

we are told they are usps mail, from the postal service but the driver is not believed to have worked for the post office. they are trying to figure out who the driver worked for. they do have someone out here trying to inspect if the packages are salvageable, likely a lost christmas gifts with target and wal-mart boxes, two lanes, closed, southbound 680 expected to be open at 7:00 or 7:30. >> alexis smith thought it would take longer than officially estimated and that seem to be coming true. >> yes, hopefully it is true they can get it wrapped up by 7:00 or 7:30 but the backup is growing. we are over four miles of the solid red, the crash is before you get to the downtown danville

a parked s.u.v. abandoned on the side of the freeway and ran into this large sign on side of the freeway. they are locking into the possible this could have been black ice on the road. or the driver perhaps fell asleep at the wheel. all of the packages on the side of the highway are from the postal service. we are told by c.h.p. those packages were headed to the san jose area and were incoming mail going to san jose. there is a usps inspector on the scene investigating in they are salvageable and the driver they do not believe was from usps and are still working out what company he may have been working for. they are still having two lands blocked, 680 subin in danville. >> now, alexis smith, this is causing a problem.
