i went up to her and started giving her a hard time and told her that her father was ruining the country. >> a couple is kicked off a jetblue flight accused of harassing soon to be daughter ivanka trump. >> and passengers were delayed for more than an hour this morning on a jetblue flight from jfk to sfo. our reporter is at sfo where the flight landed an hour and a half ago. sergio? >> reporter: larry, one of the interesting things about this is ivanka trump and her family and secret service detail was flying in coach on jetblue and that's one of the reasons why there was a bit of a conflict, apparently,

and in order to avoid any further conflict when they landed here at sfo, they were given more of a v.i.p. treatment and taken off the plane before anyone else. ivanka trump and her entourage deplaned the flight without incident. she had a secret service detail waiting for her on the tarmac. passengers reacted to the incident when they landed at sfo. >> some guy went up to her and started giving her a hard time and told her that her father was ruining the country. he was being rude and inconsiderate. >> she can fly on her own private plane. we all had to wait. >> reporter: ivanka, her husband jared kushner and children were headed to hawaii when they were approached by a passenger. "jetblue kicked us off our flight when a flight attendant overheard my husband expressing displeasure about flying with

trumps." he has since deleted his twitter account. jetblue wrote in part, "if the crew determines that a customer is causing conflict on the aircraft, the customer will be asked to deplane, especially if the crew feels the situation runs the risk of escalation on the flight." this isn't the first time the trump family has elicited reaction on a plane. last month, a hillary clinton supported was not removed from the plane but has banned from all future delta flights for causing an issue. those two men and their child, who were kicked off the plane in new york, jetblue tells us that they have made arrangements to put them on the next available flights coming here to san francisco. at sfo, sergio quinana, news. >> sergio, thank you. there's a storm headed our

way. we have mainly clear skies but let's look at the doppler and then i'll show you the approaching storm. as we pull back, we have a big storm off shore. it's a moderate storm but large as well and moving in our direction and will arrive during the overnight hours. this storm approaching for tomorrow ranks 2 on the impact scale. a storm of moderate intensity provides heavy rain in the morning hours with winds gusting from 20 to 40 miles per hour and also a chance of hail. here's the forecast animation. through the evening hours, we see increasing clouds until 11:00 or so. notice that overnight the storm surges in between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. the morning commute will be a mess. here's what to expect in the morning hours. there will be heavy downpours of rain, pounding of water on the roadways and windy with gusts 20 to 40 miles per hour. give yourself a little extra time if you're a morning commuter and be patient. i have more coming up in a few minutes. larry? >> all right, spencer, see you

victim, the victim turns and in some sort of a fight managed to take away the knife and then stabbed the suspect in self-defense. >> the victim is recovering from his injuries. the chp is looking for four young people who took off after crashing a jaguar right through the front of a thrift store in san leandro. take a look at the damage inside an office connected to the thrift town store on east 14th street and 162nd avenue. the jag took out one of the offices. the car plowed right into the building shortly before 1:30 this morning. that store was still able to open up for business today. the san francisco police union is going to court to stop a new use of force policy that the police commissioner force approved last night. >> violating officers' rights. vic lee is joining us. >> larry and ama, he said he's

extremely disappointed and says both sides had reached agreement on almost all of the recommendations except for a couple of important ones which halloran says the commissioners adopted unilaterally. >> we will let a judge decide as to whether or not the commission should come back to the table to negotiate. >> we've been working on this for a long time. a resounding aye? >> the police union's decision to file for a temporary restraining order came after last night's vote by police commissioners. they approved the new use of force policy after 12 months of deliberations. the day before their meeting, the union filed a lawsuit against the city charging that the commission engaged in bad faith negotiations. changing language that both sides had agreed in closed meetings, one of them banning the police from using a vascular neck hold called carotid restraints. >> by removing this less lethal option, it could potentially

force the officers into using a higher level of force, and that's certainly not what i want to see. >> reporter: halloran says they had agreed to keep the restraining technique until tasers would be accepted. also approved last night, officers will no longer be allowed to shoot any moving vehicles except under exceptional circumstances the halloran says the language they agreed on during negotiations spelled out in more explicit terms the exceptions. the police commission president susie loftis counters. >> we weren't able to reach agreements but we moved forward on what the united states department of justice said this department needs to do. >> well, it's now up to the new chief, bill scott, who was appointed just two days ago to implement this new use of force policy and it will be the first time, by the way, since 1995, that officers here will have to adjust to a new set of protocols.

back to you in the studio. >> vic, do you know how the new chief feels about this use of force policy? >> i sat down with him after he was appointed on tuesday and he told me he's read every one of the reforms and considers them reasonable, his words. he believes officers should not shoot at cars but almost -- but also believes there should be exceptions. and he supports, as does the police union, the use of tasers as another less lethal option. >> vic, thank you so much. an 82-year-old grandmother is coming back to northern california after immigration authorities reversed her deportation. abc7 news was at the airport. betty flores was detained three weeks ago due to a visa irregularity. she was deported to mexico without being able to contact her family and suffers from dementia. >> immigration did not use the

discretion that they have to minimally, conditionally release her to her family so that she can be cared for. >> flores is the mother of an immigrant advocate who ran for board supervisor in 2004. congresswoman nancy pelosi intervened and flores will be back here in a few days. and a matriarch super fan sweetie died today at the age of 107. her real name is helen brooks. sweetie went to the warriors games whenever she could and when she couldn't get there, she watched every single one of them on tv. the warriors issued a statement that says, "sweetie's presence at or ra connect arena during our championship cease soon was as big of a thrill for us as it was for her. our thoughts and prayers go out to her family during this difficult time." this comes as the warriors welcome a son, a baby boy, for

uber has packed up its self-driving cars and sent them to california. if california doesn't want you, arizona does. the cars were put on trucks just hours after the san francisco-based ride service announced it was stopping the self-driving pilot program here in california. this move ends the drama that first erupted last week when uber announced its self-driving cars would start picking up passengers. dmv officials ordered them to stop saying that these vehicles are only test vehicles and did not have the proper registration

to actually carry passengers. a bus rider in san francisco is recovering from injuries after his e-cigarette blew up in his pocket. he started vaping and the driver told him to stop. the man shoved the device into his pocket and seconds later flames burst out of his pants. first responders took this picture of the battery case. they say that's most likely the cause of the explosion. >> wow. >> yeah. the holiday spirit is alive and well in a san leandro family. friends and family are helping a woman try to turn a house into a home after losing everything in a fair. >> eric thomas is live where they sprang the surprise on her this afternoon. >> reporter: the best part about it, they did it in total secrecy. her friends and acquaintances butt this all together after she lost everything in a fire and let's show you what happened when she got home.

combat. i'm ama daetz in for kristen sze. >> a man stabbed a would-be robber to death at 144th avenue. elissa harrington has the latest on the story. elissa? >> reporter: dan, both the suspect and victim were stabbed in this violent robbery attempt. police say a man in his 30s was trying to protect his own life when he grabbed his attacker's knife and fought back. they are not releasing any names but we know that the victim is recovering at the hospital in a serious condition. san leandro police say it appears the victim of an attempted robbery killed his attacker by fighting back. >> it appears to be a justifiable homicide. >> reporter: lieutenant ron clark says the victim wrestled away the knife of the suspect and stabbed him to death. this happened near heath park. a neighbor who did not want her face on camera hea
