shot out windows and at least half a dozen bullet holes. tonight, the highway patrol says this is the car that was targeted on a busy freeway. i'm ama dietz, this is the third shooting on the highway. >> the shots were fired near the harrison street exit. live from oakland with late-breaking details. >> reporter: dan, the victims stopped their car just over my right shoulder. it was towed away just a while ago, but take a look where you can see the glass on the ground where the victims called for help. eight bullet holes were scattered here on the highway, the two victims, men in their 20s, are rushed to the hospital.

both were conscious, but bleeding badly. >> one victim had two bullet holes in the left cheek, the other in one of their legs. >> reporter: they told the police the shooter started to shoot at them at harrison street. the driver managed to stop at frisbee street where he dialled 911, the chp shut down the highway from broadway to harrison, this is the third shooting on the freeway and oakland in less than a month, on monday, the driver of a mercedes shot into another car missing the two people inside. the suspect sped away. then on november 30th, somebody shot at two people as they drove near the fruitvale off exit. the man and woman inside the car were hurt. no arrests were made in this case either. and at this point, all lanes on

there wore protective gear as they assessed the danger, again, nobody was hurt. and a new twist in a sex assault investigation involving two high school students. a high school student will face charges after all. the 15-year-old boy was arrested last month after a 15-year-old boy at the high school next door claimed she was assaulted following a football game. the boy was then released because at the time the authorities said the investigation was continuing. well, now late today, the concord police revealed the 15-year-old boy is facing sex assault charges. the boy's father said that the incident was consensual. and new, police are looking for leads in an unsolved murder case that was four decades old. 19-year-old deborah cargo was killed in 1975. but her father and hard detective work is trying to
