city officials are hoping those who ring in the new yore will get ripped off instead. >> it's being build as the rocking new year's eve music fest held in downtown berkeley. >> reporter: promising live performances from acts like casey and jojo. color me bad, next and swv. plus a champagne ball and three dance floors to start at $99. the only problem. >> it is a scam. there is no party >> reporter: al immediatea county district attorney's they don't know who the scammer is but are certain this party is not happening. >> we spoke with the actual managers of the bands who are supposed to be playing. they informed us, no, these bands are not going to be there. >> reporter: casey and jojo even alerted their finance to the bogus party on their instagram page and it also mentions fund-raising for the alameda county food bank. >> if people are buying tickets and this is a fraud their money

>> today the consul general in san francisco held a surprise news conference expressing some bitterness about the diplomats being kicked out of the consulate here so quickly. abc 7 news reporter carolyn tyler is live from outside the russian consulate on green street in san francisco with more on that story. c carolyn? >> reporter: yesterday, reporters who gathered here outside the cons laptop were told to, quote, leave this territory. today the consul general invited everybody in, offered champagne and the russians' view of being kicked out. a fleury of activity today at the russian consulate in san francisco. it's unclear if these are among those being expelled, but we do know four people president obama has classified as intelligence operatives are leaving, along with seven family members, including three children >> they have to leave within hours and it's -- it's just not

flap. >> sometimes it's politic and sometimes it happens. >> the russians are expected to clear out by tomorrow. they will drive to los angeles and then fly back to russia. in san francisco, carolyn tyler, aches 7 news. extra inspectors will be in the field tonight trying to figure out the source of a sulfur odor in a plagueled parts of the san francisco and richmond earlier this week. the bay area management district received more than 1 is hundred complaints about the stench of rotten eggs. the agencies are working together to investigate all possible sources, including the richmond chevron refinery. another smelly problem, a bay area waste disposal company accused of creating a noxious odor that's making people sick. the smell is coming from a landfill and the contra costa department of public health has ordered a crease and desist order saying the company is storing more compost than its

a lot of spots are holding in the '50s and right along the coast, we're at 51 in san francisco and 52 in half moon bay. 59 san ramon and fairfield has already dropped to 49 degrees. what we eel see that cloud condition will continue to thicken overnight tonight and what what that will do is keep most spots in the 40s and 45 the overnight low and 45 in san francisco and 42 in san jose, a couple spots in the north bay, our tim call areas like santa rowsa andna. a and will drop into the upper 30s. cloud cover is going to try and give way to an ice lighted sprinkle first thing on your saturday and do notice the storm system well off to the coast and try and throw an isolated light shower. not a big issue. don't even rank this storm system on the storm impact scale and what it will do it will lead to a dry evening tomorrow night and your three-day forecast. chance very early in the morning and it's out of here midday and as we welcome 2017 we'll do it under dry skies and comfortably cool temperatures in the upper 30s and mid-40s.

by sunday lots of sunshine and cool and then monday. that's where we're tracking our next storm system that does have a rank on storm. it's a light system and what we're track, it's called an arctic front meaning it can't hold a lot of moisture but it brings very frigid air with it and as it does a wintry mix it possible late tuesday night into early wednesday morning, so future weather what, we have here, not only the temperatures, but also the moisture there in green. as we go throughout our tuesday afternoon temperatures well above freezing, but it will be a cold day. only in the low 40s as the showers move through. as the storm system begins to exit early wednesday morning what it's going to try to do is pull in some air and if that cold air can link up with the moisture quick enough early wednesday morning, not out of the question to see a few snow flakes and snow flakes are possible in these areas. mt. hamilton in the santa cruz mountains likely early wednesday morning and the cold air can move in quick enough before the moisture gets out of here, not out of the question.
