the fremont police department, they said caltrans had come by and told them that this road will be closed until at least 8:00 this morning. one resident told me one of the mudslides is a quarter of a mile long and people are having to go towards castro valley to get out. niles canyon road is a muddy mess. we took this video about 20 minutes ago. didn't make it very far from mission boulevard before we ran into debris, brush, and thick mud. a car was parked on the side of the road with a bunch of debris underneath the vehicle. two people were actually trapped in that car and the fremont police department had to go in and take them out. water was above their wheels. alameda creek runs right next to it but that water was actually coming from the mountainside. several slides took place in this area, one on nearby kilcare road. in fact, the alameda county fire department tweeted this saying they were on the scene helping a family of seven, two adults, five kids displaced by the mudslides. they're concerned a home may be

compromised and might need further evaluation. we've seen caltrans crews and union pacific crews out here on the road. that road is going to be closed at 8:00 but you can expect another evaluation from caltrans and other crews as they come out here and try to make sure that this road is clear and safe for people to drive on. reporting live in fremont, matt keller. >> thank you. up to 800 homes and sonoma county are being threatened by the rising russian river this morning and that river is expected to crest later on this morning. >> guerneville being hit particularly hard and check out the video, just how high this water was yesterday afternoon. sonoma county's emergency dispatch center received 19 calls from people who were trapped or stuck in the water. the russian river fire district rescued at least six people yesterday in guerneville alone. more flooding this time in san francisco under 280. water pouring down from the interstate helped to flood the road. cars still tried to get through it. chp showed up there overnight to help direct people to go around
