historic. i don't even know what to say about it. when i got it in the mail, it was a shock. called him at work and he flew down as fast as he could. we got our tickets. >> he is one of an estimated 300,000 bay area residents who voted for donald trump. he and his partner, juan, will leave wednesday. they'll will there for five days. both of them say they're thrilled to witness presidential history. live in santa clara, abc 7 news. >> thank you. two dozen members of congress who will not be attending the inauguration made the decision after this weekend's war of words between the president-elect and representative john lewis. in a network interview, lewis said he did not consider mr. trump to be a legitimate president because of russia's influence in the election. >> i think there was a conspiracy on the part of the russians and others. that helped him get elected. that's not right. that's not fair.

from intelligence officials. one official from the east bay says they have an obligation to investigate. he wants to appoint an independent commission to look into the influence by the russian in the election to make sure it never happens again. >> it would allow congress to appoint national security and elections experts to look back with access to the classified information, declassify as much as possible, debunk a lot of the myths that president-elect trump has put out there about what actually happened and, most importantly, as i said, depoliticize this so it is taken out of congress and put into the hands of independent commissioners. >> he says he will attend the inauguration. he understands and respects his 23 colleagues who are boycotting it. antioch police are trying to find the people who started a fire in a store.

you guys are our ears. we need to get these people out of the streets that are causing these crimes -- that are doing these crimes and taking people's lives. >> the driver is in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. his passenger was taken in for more questioning. there have been almost 40 shootings on bay area freeways in the past year and a half. a contra costa sheriff's deputy is out of a job and facing five counts of attempted murder after firing his gun inside a house party. the 23-year-old, kyle roland, is being held without bail in a sacramento jail this morning. he was arrested early friday and fortunately no one was hurt. by the time they arrived, he was already being retrained by other people at the party. he'd just joined the contra costa sheriff's office in october and was still on probationary status. the department announced he was fired over the weekend. he's also well-known among sacramento's music community as lead singer of the kyle roland blues band. fremont police are
