center in san rafael. it is a school, kindergarten through 8th grade. the caller didn't say where the bomb was or what it looked like so law enforcement doesn't have much to go on. >> what is important for me to say right now is all 200 of the students have been safely evacuated to another location off campus and are currently being watched by law enforcement and but by parents and teachers and so forth. so we're very comfortable in that respect. what we have left now is the fact that we have a very large campus, many, many buildings, many, many rooms that need to be thoroughly searched. >> i was in a school meeting for a class trip and i said to becky, we need to evacuate the building. and i heard stuff from the east coast and this has been happening so i wasn't surprised, really. >> and then other bomb threats reported at other jccs across the country and no devices have been found. the sheriff's office here did not want to comment on whether it is all connected and said it is too soon. two schools here nearby,

we're on storm watch and you could watch with this time lapse of the storms as they began approaching the showers did from the west and moving toward the east. you could see the clouds getting thicker as we head through the morning hours. but nothing like what we're dealing with right now. let's take a look at rainfall today. and you could see that we've had very minimal amounts. not up to two tenths of an inch
11:15 am
of rain and looking promises compared to what is reaching the ground. that will change. when you see the yellow and red, that will not mean snow and ice like in the clouds right now. a look at san mateo bridge and you could see what.500 inch and you could see southbound toward 24 but no ponding yet and that will happen with the periods of moderate to heavy rain this afternoon and this evening. the next storm is heaviest friday and saturday and a two and then scattered showers for thus and saturday. will you be able to get out at times. at highway 4 down to berkeley, right just north of the bay bridge up toward mill valley, some of the better returns and on the russian river as through sunday doesn't look like it will get near flooding. in fact, no rivers are. and that is keeping our fingers crossed, a good sign. and the storm system, with the heart of the low and the cold front will that bring a sharper
11:16 am
edge to the showers and possibly some thunderstorms is going to move in later. could you see it off shore right there. so power outage, high concern and for ponding on the roadways. and river flooding and debris flows, really low. so here we go. you could see the yellow and orange becoming more expensive, taking over more of the neighborhoods from noon all the way up until it finally moves across the bay area at 4:00. ahead of the cold front we find the heavier showers and it will move through the heart of the bay as we wind down the evening commute toward 7:00 and 8:00 and then by 11:00 most of them are pushing to the east. and then we transition over to just scattered light showers during the overnight hours. so rainfall, you could see just not very much out there. but look at how quickly its w ws up. two to three inches in the santa cruz mountains and a half inch in the south bay because of the rain shadow and then up to an inch for the rest of us and if you are heading to the sierra, it is almost too late. a foot of snow down to 5,000 feet and two feet above
11:17 am
7,000 feet and that winter storm warning is now through noon tomorrow. here is my accuweather seven-day forecast. because we have a chance of showers thursday and again saturday, even though they are on the light side, we'll put that as a light category on the storm impact scale but again friday and sunday, while they are two, we could get a cumulative affect of more ponding and more quicker and more streams and creeks flooding with those two storms. our fastest winds are from now in the north bay through 10:00 and for the rest of us 1:00 this afternoon to about 1:00 in the morning when we could have some power outages at worse and maybe trees an limbs and leaves on your drive around at the minimum. >> so six days of rain. >> yes, but it is not completely rain every day. we will get a break. >> so there is the hope. thank you, mike. >> i'll bring you a little bit today. >> now a quick update on the top story. >> we just confirmed the day school at the foster city jcc

to abandon vehicles. >> the floodwater was so high it was more than waste high and filled cars to the hoods but the most dangerous moment came when a folks in a metro bus had to jump out of a window for safety. >> a texas metro bus got stuck in riding waters in southwest houston. >> at first i was confused. i was worried. i was scared, kind of like what is going to happen. because it was just forcing the bush, myself and there is this other guy and the bus driver. the lady behind the wheel. >> luckily for those on board, a good samaritan jumped in to help. that female bus driver climbed through the driver's side window as the good samaritan helped her out. and then carried her to a mcdonald's on higher ground. a passenger on the bus said he was scared.
11:22 am
>> i thought what will happen, will they call for help because the whole bus was filled with water. >> reporter: the water inside of the bus filled to above the seats. he then stood on them and held on to the overhead grab handles for safety. >> you don't know the level of the water, if there is a drain somewhere or, you know. so you can't tell. they asked us to come out and i was safer in the bus. >> the bus was left abandoned in the water for hours later. but it wasn't the only vehicle with problems. >> the water started coming in so i had to get out of the car. >> reporter: all across houston we saw scenes like this, cars stuck in pile-ups and drivers with nowhere to go. all they could do was wait. there are no reports of any deaths or injures, instead it was a hugin convenient. some closed for the day. and look at this picture from rice university, the entire football field unundated. it looks like a pool.

president-elect. described as cordial. but mr. trump seems determined to reverse many of obama's policies right away. >> in fact, george, we know that president obama spoke to donald trump as recently as monday. but there is no question that this incoming administration is aiming to dismantle the obama legacy. and while president obama has promised a smooth transition of power, he's also said that if donald trump succeeds, america succeeds. here he is.

>> we've been in touch with the bush family after hearing before george h.w. bush and barbara bush admitted to the hospital this morning. they have not only dedicated their lives to this country, they have been a constant source of friendship and support and good counsel for michelle and me over the years. they are as fine a couple as we know. and so we want to send our prayers and love to them. really good people. second thing i want to do is to thank all of you. some of you have g me for a long time, folks like christie and lynn. some of you i've just gotten to know. we have travelled the world together. we've did a few singles, a few doubles together. i've offered advice that i thought was pretty sound like
11:26 am
don't do stupid stuff. and even when you complained about my long answers, i just want you to know the only reason they were long was because you asked six-part questions. but i have enjoyed working with all of you. that does not of course mean that i've enjoyed every story that you have filed but that's the point of this relationship. you're not supposed to be -- you're supposed to be skeptics and ask me tough questions. you're not supposed to be complimentary but supposed to cast a critical eye on folks who hold enormous power. and make sure that we are accountable to the people who sent us here and you have done that. and you have done it for the most part in ways that i could appreciate for fairness even if i didn't always agree with your

conclusions. and having you in this building has made this place work better. it keeps us honest. it makes us work harder. you have made us think about how we are doing what we do and whether or not we're able to deliver on what's been requested by our constituents. and for example, every time you have asked why haven't you cured ebola yet or why is that still that hole in the gulf, it has given me the ability to go back to my team and say will you get this solved before the next press conference. i've spent time on my -- in my farewell address talking about the state of our democracy. it goes without saying that essential to that is a free press. that is part of how this place, this country, this grand
11:28 am
experiment self government has to work. it doesn't work if we don't have a well-informed citizenry and you are the conduit to which they receive the information about what's taking place in the halls of power. america needs you and our democracy needs you. we need you to establish a baseline of facts and evidence that we can use as a starting point for the kind of reasons and informed debate that ultimately lead to progress. so my hope is that you will continue with the same tenacity that you showed us to do the hard work of getting the bottom of stories and getting them right. and to push those of us in power to be the best version of ourselves. and to push this country to be the best version of its self. i have no doubt you will do so and looking forward to being an active consumer of your work

rather than always the subject of it. i want to thank you all for your extraordinary service to our democracy and with that i will take some questions. i will start with jeff mason whose term aimportantly is not up. i thought we would be going out together brother, but you got to hang around for a while. jeff from reuters. >> thank you. are you concerned mr. president that commuting chelsea manning's sentence will send a message that leaking classified material will not generate a tough sentence to groups like wikileaks, how do you reconcile that in russia's hacking in the election and related to that assange is offering to come to the united states. will he be charged or arrested if he came here? >> well, first of all, let's be clear chelsea manning has served
11:30 am
a tough prison sentence. so the notion that the average person who was thinking about disclosing vital classified information would think that it goes unpunished, i don't think would get that impression from the sentence that chelsea manning has served. it has been my view that given she went to trial, that due process was carried out, that she took responsibility for her crime, that the sentence that she received was very disproportionate relative
