morn singo crews can resume their search for a young woman's body. >> the 18-year-old lost control near palomares road and went into the creek saturday. she crossed into oncoming traffic, clipped a car and ended up in the creek. they found a piece of the car but that's not. t it'll be closed at 10:00 and into the afternoon. a tree crushed six cars in lafayette. it just missed crashing into the restaurant on lafayette circle. some of the damaged cars belong to people there. for a martinez at the time, she described what she heard. >> it sounded like thunder. but it was lightning. like an earthquake. thank god no one was hurt. >> you can see how close the

tree came to the window of the dining room. that downed tree kept workers and their power tools busy in buerkeley. it fell at pine and webster. blocked a lane but nobody was hurt. lanes in the great highway in san francisco is closed from lincoln way to skyline boulevard. drivers need an alternative route if heading south. no word on when it'll reopen. bridgeway is reopened after a mud slide shut down southbound lanes between nevada and spring streets. trees and debris fell on the road last night, forcing the road closure. crews worked through the night to clean up the mess. you can go through now, but you'll need to slow down. there are barriers around as a precaution. it is down to one lane. the old santa cruz highway is off limits for you. you can see a piece of hillside gave way and brought down mud

and trees near edwards road. debris enough to block both lanes there. the public department works lists 12 roads closed in the county. the lexington reservoir was nearly overflowing from all the water. officials said there were reduced chance of flooding down creek. people marvelled at the amount of water over the spillway. >> to see the power of mother nature. my brother-in-law came earlier, saying it was incredible to see. >> lexington is primarily a water supply reservoir, not designed for flood protection. water came over the spillway earlier this month, as well. before that, it happened five years ago. oakland firefighters shared this photo of a mini van stalled in the water near the bay bridge. they had to swim to rescue the people inside. the vehicle was on the frontage road that runs next to the

two people inside of a pickup got stuck in the flooded creek near the grapevine yesterday. rescuers could not use a helicopter because the weather was too bad. they used the orange raft you see there. the man and woman up side the wickup cli pickup climbed out of the passenger side of the window. got out of the wipickup and int the raft. no one was hurt. a massive oak tree is blamed for killing a woman when it crashed into an apartment building. it crushed the woman while she slept in her bed. winds were at 50 miles per hour. r heavy rain made the roots unstable. crews used a chain saw and crane to get it off the victim. at least 28 tornadoes have been reported since saturday. storms are responsible for at least 19 deaths.

abc 7 has more. >> reporter: severe weather slamming the south. this morning, the storms hitting floch florida, downing trees and knocking out power. in georgia, debris everywhere after a tornado strike. the remains of what were once family homes. at least seven people killed in this small town alone. abc 7 arivife ine arriving ther >> this is one of the hardest hit areas in southern georgia. behind me, we have these giant trees toppled over. this is the only spot we were able to set up our camera because there is still a search and rescue effort underway in this area. >> reporter: this video in louisiana near the texas border showing homes ripped apart. a tornado tore through here, packing 135 mile an hour winds. >> this is our driveway right here. >> reporter: on the west coast, growing concerns about mud slides in southern california. this wall of water rushing down a hillside and filling the street.
