there, and sunshine and near 50 around noontime and slightly warmer today with dry weather. we will let you know how long that's going to last coming up. >> thank you, lisa. protests are expected again at airports in the bay area and all over the country. the demonstrations reacting to president trump's executive order. banning people in from seven muslim-countries. [ chanting ] this was the scene at sfo last night, where at one point 1,000 people gathered protesting that order, and a judge in new york

put a stay blocking the implementation. and that was welcome news for protesters here in san francisco and across the country. the new york judge's order will insure those detained will not be sent home for the time being. sergio contanya has more. >> reporter: a team of lawyers began piecing together details about people who may need their help. >> the three i am waiting for, i am looking forward to see them on the other side. >> reporter: she is an attorney to help three people from iran, and seven people were temporarily detained at sfo because they hold passports from the seven countries that president donald trump ban in an executive order on friday, and during this protest the crowd did get good news. >> we just got news that a judge in the eastern district of new

york granted an emergency stay of the executive order. >> according to the judge's order anybody in transit to the u.s. or detained upon arrival who has a valid visa or green card would not be affected by president trump's order, and it capped a day of panic and dismay for many families. >> she arrived at 1:30 p.m. to san francisco airport but they deport her to my country. >> reporter: this protest at sfo ballooned to about 1,000 people at one point and it included state and local officials who said president trump's executive order triggered chaos and confusion for people who had to interpret and enforce it. >> it feels chaotic and it feels unsettling and really dark, and it is really a frustrating situation again. >> reporter: organizers say they plan on being here for the long hall. abc 7 news. more specifics now on the federal judge's emergency stay

on part of president trump's executive order. any citizen of the seven countries who arrived or are in transit to the u.s. have to be allowed in if they hold a valid visa, and they are requiring the federal government to provide a list of all people being detained and it does not halt enforcement of the ban in the future. in new york, hundreds protested after 11 people were detained at jfk, and more than 2,000 people demonstrated there, and the agency that runs the airport tried to restore order by shutting down the train, but cuomo reversed that decision saying people have a right to protest. apple ceo tim cook sent to his employees, and i heard from many of you who heard about the executive order and i share your concerns, and it's not a policy we support.

stay on top of president trump's first 100 days in office with the abc 7 news app, and download the app for free and enable push alerts to get breaking news updates as they happenen. developing news out of antioch this morning, and police are investigating a shooting that left a man in critical condition. it happened at 9:45 last night near east 18th street. when officers arrived they found a victim who was shot at least twice while sitting in a parked car. police describe him as a 35-year-old man from oakland and he is in critical but stable condition. daly city police are searching for three men seen running from the scene of a double shooting, and two girls were wounded during a party inside the senior center yesterday afternoon, and one girl shot in the leg and the other suffered a graze wound and both victims are under the age

of 18. no word on what led to the gunfire. the family of a woman who has been missing since last saturday will be back out today looking for her. officials say 18-year-old jada jenkins was driving her car when it plunged into the alameda creek last weekend. abc 7 news reporter, leslie brickley, has the story. >> reporter: it was an emotionally charged search effort and teams spanning out along the creek bed that is more like a river, and about 100 volunteers joined her family as they concentrate on the creek west of the boulevard out to the bay. >> i got a couple coworkers that are willing to bring out their kayaks and going out to the bay to take a look at areas that we can't get into on foot, just trying to find her and bring her home. >> east of here, another official search zeroed in on the creek in steep niles canyon,

where were car plunged into the water during a storm, and the waters were higher and flowing three times faster, and her car was recovered tuesday but no sign of the 1-year-old. an army of experts converged here, including k-9 teams and search and rescue teams from all across the bay area. >> they will get down closer to the water and look for things that have not been able to be searched before. >> we are doing everything we can. we have boots on the ground, and we have k-9s out, and we are putting every effort forward to bring sure we bring jada home to her family. >> reporter: those that found clothes or shoes texted pictures to her dad to see if they were significant. in fremont, abc 7 news. governor jerry brown

scheduled to undergo a new round of cancer treatment but will not miss any work. he will be treated sometime between late next month or early february. he underwent treatment for several weeks and doctors say his prognosis is excellent. the 78-year-old brown is expected to continue with his work schedule during the treatment. the oakland a's are expected to announce the site of their new ballpark sometime this year. yesterday at the fanfest, the team president said the organization has narrowed it down to four locations, near jackland and square, and a new park at the coliseum if the raiders move, and one of those locations is likely to be chosen by the end of this year. yesterday's weather for that fanfest was beautiful. >> yes, it was. how about a little warmer?

this is a live look from our roof cam showing you the beautiful bay bridge in the background. we have had a little bit of a warm spell and if you like it, i guess it's going to stick around for a little while. lisa will be along shortly with the full accuweather forecast. a robbery suspect is in custody this morning thanks to quick action by customers and workers at a fast foot restaurant in san jose. it's all caught on surveillance video. it happened around 10:30 last night at the taco bell kfc, and you can see the man holding his hand out and after the cashier gives him the money, another employee runs from behind and takes it away, and he starts fighting with the would-be robber and a customer jumps over the railing to help hold him don. >> it was one of those situations where a happy ending. it's a very volatile situation that could have gone either way but this in instance it worked

out well. >> the suspect went to the hospital with minor injuries and nobody else was hurt. and then 310 es claw nod is teetering on a cliff, and crews removed hazardous material from the site, and the city yellow tagged the building in january after storms caused more of the cliff side to give way, and crews have had to knock down two other buildings on this avenue because of erosion. and security guards at tech companies are now members of a union. abc 7 news was in san jose as the union welcomed them yesterday. they work at companies like facebook, cisco and google and the union is negotiating contracts for them that will include higher pay.

most earn $12 to $20 an hour and they say that's not enough to live comfortably in the bay area, especially with families to support. >> $2,000 a month, you are lucky to get a one-bedroom apartment, and we have to live with other family members. >> abc 7 news contacted the contractors and those involved and facebook got back to us and said they are not commenting and they said us to get with their contractors. internet providers are still working on installing fiber optic cable for everybody that wants it, and now a small company is wanting to fill the gap, but one couple had a hard time getting in on the deal and that is until 7 on your side's, michael finney, stepped in. >> reporter: could spend hours

viewing historic photos on line. sometimes it took that long. >> we lived with a slow-speed internet. >> so slow some applications would time-out. >> reporter: they live where internet wiring is outdated, so they were thrilled when sonic of santa rosa offered new fiber optic service. they could have high speed internet, and phone and tv for $120 a month. >> sounded like a good idea and it was cheaper. >> so we went with it. >> reporter: but weeks past and nobody came to install it, and they called sonic and found out why. >> they had us in their system as an apartment building and therefore they did not want to deal with us. >> reporter: the couple tried to explain they live in a single family home and they own it. >> i explained we are a house, but they said, i'm sorry, you are still an apartment building.

it cold out there. frost, and we have a little fog by the delta, otherwise we're enjoying some dry days, warmer weather. you can take a look at our live doppler 7 satellite picture. this is all the cloud cover that won't reach us. it's going up and over the ridge. we will not only enjoy sunny conditions today and tomorrow and it will take until tuesday, and then we have a delay on the onset of the precip. right now around the bay, we have the 30s from santa rosa, and 31, 38, and napa, 37 in fremont. it's 35 in livermore. once again with the clear sky, the light winds and the radiational cooling, it's pretty frosty out there, and it will take 10:00 or 11:00 to begin to feel a little more warmth out there, and you can see how clear it is, so patchy fog and the chilly conditions. sunny and mild today and tomorrow. we will squeeze in more

sunshine, and the wet pattern arrives on wednesday. looks like the amount of rain won't be that much. in fact, we will see a typical wintertime storm, and maybe 10 inches of snow in the sierra nevada. looking at slight warming today and temperatures in the low to mid-60s in some areas, and this model wants to bring in napa and san jose into the warmer locations, but tomorrow we'll continue that climb with high pressure strong right over the bay area, and that will allow mid-60s on the coast, and 68 in san jose and 62 in concord, but as we get into tuesday, increasing clouds. you will notice a stronger onshore flow. temperatures beginning to cool back a bit, some upper 50s. but as we get to the rain, we will bring it in on wednesday. storm impact scale still allowing for a 1, light scattered showers and breezing on wednesday and then less than

chicago police officers rushing towards a building, scaling fences, and some taking cover. the suspect shooting at police, and officers returning fire, more than two dozen shots exchanged. after investigators say the suspect, richard grimes, shot his girlfriend killing their unborn baby. two officers were injured and grimes killed. a justice department investigation found a pattern of excessive force, and following the city's most violent year in two decades already this year nearly 270 people have been shot, and 42 victims killed. president trump pleading if chicago doesn't fix the horrible carnage going on, i will send in

temperatures coming up just a little bit. we are approaching one week since the last rain. i will let you know how long our dry stretch will last because we do have rain in the 7-day out look. now to president trump's controversial executive order calling for an immediate suspension of immigration from seven predominant-muslim countries, and protests broke out across the nation including at sfo. we spoke with several people waiting for loved ones. >> it's sad you are personally getting affected, and everybody is sad if you are putting a certain group of people from a country saying you can't come. >> a federal judge in new york issued a stay for part of the executive order. federal judges in virginia and seattle have since followed suit. protesters say they plan to be back at sfo today at noon. many stayed well past 3:00 this

houston. the building was already in flames when firefighters arrived at the scene yesterday morning. that mosque was the target of a hate crime several years ago. it was broken into just a week ago. the fbi, atf and texas rangers are all involved in the investigation. hoping statements are set to start tomorrow in the trial of a man accused of morgan hill teenager, lamar. if convicted the suspect, torres, faces a possible death sentence. police arrested him three months after lamar disappeared while on her way to school in 2012, and the trial has been delayed several times since then, and lamar was 15 years old when she vanished. her body has never been found. an injured back country skier in the hospital this morning recovering from injuries he suffered in the high sierra.

highway patrol helicopter flew in to get him. he injured his leg and could not continue, and fellow skiers called for help, and the highway patrol flew the man to a waiting ambulance where he was taken to the hospital for treatment. in south los angeles, video emerged of a violent crash of a car hitting a los angeles unified school bus, and it takes out two parked cars. the bus ended up on top of those cars. one student on the bus immediately called her mother after the crash. >> crying, and weeping, so i freaked out. but when i saw her standing and that she was okay, i, you know -- that was a relief. >> the highway patrol says the bus driver and the driver of the suv and four students were hurt,

annually by the salvation army and other groups, and it provides them a chance to socialize with their neighbors and enjoy foods that symbolize good luck in the rooster year. the woman that gets down with her dancing at the warriors games paid a visit to a middle school dance competition in san carlos last week. the kids have been watching videos of robin schrieber, and their teachers hope it shows them how to take risks and step out of their comfort zone. and they were thrilled when she accepted their invitation to visit, and she's very comfortable in her body. the warriors on the road for the second game in the back to back, and they take on the trail blazers in portland, and tip-off is at 6:00.

have patchy fog up in santa rosa with a quarter mile visibility and frost around. if you are headed out this morning, give yourself a little time. here's a look at the bigger picture, and keeping us dry, a big dome of high pressure going up and over the ridge, and that's in line for sunny and dry days. by the time we get rain, it's going to be nine days of a break. that's good news. it's really key. we are not looking at a big storm system, and more typical winter-time event towards the end of the week, and it will be significant and we will detail it for you in just a few minutes. the warmest spot except at the coast, san francisco, 44, and san jose, and 36 in gilroy. we will hover around freezing, and already look at the numbers in the mid-30s, and inland east bay from livermore, and 37 in concord, and 43 in novato, so

it's typically cold but we will look for about 11:00 for things to start feeling better. so patchy fog, and cold this morning, sunny and mild, and today and tomorrow, the numbers come up today and more so for your monday, and then tuesday, increasing clouds. the wet pattern is going to be delayed on the onset. looks like all of wednesday will be dry unless you are out late in the north bay, and you will see a few drops by late in the -- i would say evening hours. as we look at san jose as a model here you will notice the average high is 59 degrees. today going for a high of 64. monday and tuesday, we're warmer and then when we get the rain it will be mild but cold enough to have snow in the sierra, and that's always key, right, we don't want rain there. and livermore going for the high of 60 today and your warmest days will be monday and tuesday, and then just a modest drop off in temperatures. we will bring in the storm impact scale for wednesday. not much rain expected, though, and it will be late in the day.
