amy hollyfield, live at montgomery and bush. what is happening there, amy? >> a, reggie. you can see behind me, they're making repairs here on bush street. this intersection is creating a slowdown as people navigate around it. they've closed montgomery. montgomery is closed for fear these wires could come down again while they're working on it. muni has gotten the wires back up. they still have to test them. what that means right now for you is that the bus lines, the 30 and the 45 lines from cl columbus and green to market and kearney are using hybrid diesel busses. no electric busses on those lines as of right now. i asked the spokesman, what happened? he said, well, it appears that a truck carrying a dumpster hit the wires. they'll have to investigate it once the repairs are made. that could take a while. now, the focus is on getting this repaired so they can open all of this back up. what you should expect is for things to not be normal on this

decide quickly on the travel ban which right now is on hold. this legal battle is heating up. washington and minnesota both challenged the ban and turned in their briefs to the court by their 1:00 a.m. deadline. that was this morning. those states say if the ban on travelers from seven majority muslim countries is restored, it would unleash chaos. hawaii has also filed a brief opposing the immigration order. it cites travel restrictions is damaging its economy. the justice department must file a response by 3:00 today. a ruling could come any time after that, likely within a week. experts also say the judges could already be conducting legal research on these issues. from google to facebook, tech companies taking a stand against this immigration order. >> almost 100 companies filing a brief with the court late last night, calling it discriminatory. abc 7 news reporter matt keller is live at apple headquarters in cupertino. >> good morning, natasha and

reggie. this is the brief, 97 tech companies including apple here at cupertino have filed this brief, saying donald trump's executive order is bad for business. now, they did this late last night at the 9th circuit court after of appeals in san francisco. the friend of the court filing could allow them to submit the brief with the intent to influence the court's decision. they say the travel ban on refugees and travelers from the seven countries would make it more difficult and expensive for companies to recruit, hire and retain some of the world's best employees. the brief also says it is leading to other countries retaliating, and that can hinder doing business abroad. president trump said he's trying to protect americans. in a couple twitter posts on saturday, president trump criticized the decision. tweeting, because the ban was lifted by a judge, many very bad and dangerous people may be pouring into our country. a terrible decision. you can see the brief in the flame name of all 97 companies

involved on our website. reporting live, matt keller, bck 7 news. a young girl from yemen is with her family in san francisco following the blocking of the immigration order. her parents were at sfo waiting to greet her yesterday. both are u.s. citizens. 12 years ago, her mom was traveling and game birve birth in yemen. she was stranded in yemen for years. it took her family seven years to get her a visa to travel to the u.s., which came the day before president trump signed his executive order. >> seven years already. after seven years, finally be home, finally i have all of my family home. it is the best. >> after leaving sfo, they drove to their home. president trump took aim at the possibility of california becoming a sanctuary state during his pre super bowl interview that aired on fox. >> i'm opposed to sanctuary

highway 4. willow avenue. crash is blocking the three left lanes. we have typical delays on the westbound side to the hercules area. 680 highway 4 to walnut creek. ten minutes. another 11 on 24 walnut creek to highway 13. tracy to dublin, 50 minutes on 580. the price of parking going up at several dart stations. 50 cent increase is in effect in concord, north concord, hayward, west oakland and the coliseum. increases are necessary to improve station access and pay for maintenance. bart also says parking prices are set according to supply and demand of each station. the stations where the cost is going up, east owest oakland is most expensive, $9 a day. michael jackson could have a tax bill worth hundreds of

downed muni wires. amy hollyfield is live at montgomery and bush with an update. hey, amy. >> i have a little bit of progress to report. montgomery is now open. they shut down the block of montgomery at bush because they were worried the wires would fall down while they're being worked on and could hurt someone. no concern about that any longer. this is open. you can see a lane is closed here on bush street at montgomery. that's because you can see that's where the crews are working on the muni wires that came down. they've got them back up, but they're testing them. making sure the repair is solid before they leave the scene and open it all up. so what this means for you is if you take the bus through here, they don't have electric busses running right now. they're going to use the hybrid busses. don't be surprised when you see one of those instead of the electric diesel busses. those are going to be running on the 30 and 45 lines. that's just a little change. the spokesman i talked to doesn't think it'll impact your timing. they have replaced the busses

they're not looking for anyone else. san francisco mayor expected to announce a plan for improved access for college students next fall. the mayor agreed to spend nearly $5.5 million on free tuition. the money will also cover books for low-income students. free tuition applies to city residents who lived in california for at least a year. the mayor's agreement ends months of political wrangling. student registration begins next month. legislation is going to be introdouuced this morning in sa francisco to amend laws that criminalize hiv. the law was created in the '80s, the height of the epidemic. it would protect hiv positive people even if their partner tested negative. it protects the workers from being charged of solicitation even if they don't take

president trump's immigration order which is on hold for now. washington and minnesota challenged the ban and turned in their briefs to the court. the justice department must respond by 3:00 this afternoon. five, facebook and apple among nearly 100 tech companies joining the legal fight against the president's immigration order. the companies say the travel ban is making it difficult for them to recruit and hire employees and do work in other parts of the world. number six, tom brady picked up his mvp trophy from roger goodell. he and the patriots will fly home in a few hours before celebrating with a big parade in boston at 8:00 a.m. our time tomorrow. a 50 cent increase for daily parking at bart stations in concord, north concord, hayward, west oakland and the coliseum. west oakland is the most expensive, $9 a day. >> ouch, right? >> if you want the lady gaga tickets, save your pennies. >> those go on sale a week from? >> monday.
