one thing i do know about your day, it's going to be wet. tuesday, february 7, i'm reggie aqui. >> i'm natasha zouves. we have eyes on all of the bridges right now as rain is pounding the bay area. >> here's a live look at the golden gate. there it is. the bay bridge, and richmond-san rafael bridges this morning, it's going to be wet, windy, and possibly dangerous. alexis smith covering your commute but we start with meteorologist mike nicco. i want to start with live doppler 7 especially up in the north bay. i have some new information to tell you about. let's go up there and i'll run down all the flooding that is occurring right now. south central napa county until 4:45, napa creek at highway 29, redwood creek, stay away from that area. willow brook near pen broke park, and also stay away from sonoma creek. sonoma creek at kenwood, flooding there until possibly 6:00. we're going to see, yes, waves of rain today. the heaviest this morning. i'll have more on that coming

up. here's alexis with the commute. one of those days you are going to want to leave early because your commute likely going to take a lot longer than it typically does. here's a live look at the bay bridge toll plaza. check out the wind whipping around there underneath those street lamps. you can see the rain as well. and it looks like we're having a stack-up in the cash lanes. no metering lights yet. quick check of mass transit. okay so far. weather delays for b.a.r.t. usually but right now, no delays. muni has normal service as well and we're not getting word of any service disruptions due to weather from san francisco bay ferry either. we've got a pretty large slide in the forestville area. i'll show you video coming up. quick reminder, we measure these storms on a scale of 1 to 5. this is a 3 this morning and we have crews tracking it across the bay area. >> matt keller is live near the lexington reservoir in the santa cruz mountains but first let's get to amy hollyfield with massive flooding in schellville.

>> reporter: hi, natasha. look at this intersection behind me. there weren't traffic lights there, i don't think you would know that it was an intersection. it looked like a river. it is completely flooded. this is highway 121 at highway 12. we're up in sonoma county in a town called schellville. look at this video of what happened to people when they encountered this water. this very dangerous situation. some cars got stuck. the fire department had to actually pull three -- six people out of the three cars that were stuck here. and get them to safety. they couldn't get out of it on their own. luckily, there's a fire department right here at this intersection, so i imagine they were here pretty quickly. so that was lucky for them. no one was hurt. they did leave the cars. they just abandoned the situation. no one's coming through here now. they have shut down the roads, leading and feeding into this intersection. so, it is the safe situation now. but a lot of water and a good reminder that it can come up quickly and really catch you off guard. it rained on us our entire drive up here from the east bay, heavy at times, and it is still

raining right now. live in sonoma county, in schellville, amy a hollyfield, abc7 news. let's turn our taerngs now to the south bay. this is how it looks on live doppler 7 right now. a whole lot of green. >> be careful in the santa cruz mountains. we're already watching trees come down, some on power lines. matt keller is there for us live. >> reporter: good morning, reggie. i just checked the chp website, and since i last saw you, we have one new incident up here in the santa cruz mountains on graham hill road. there was a mudslide and it went and took out the northbound lane so you got to be careful if you're driving up here in the santa cruz mountains and check out why. look how much water is here. i'm going to just trudge over here. this is up to my ankle, and this is a pipe that's coming down from the hill. you can see how much water is collecting here. and then, more water is coming from over here. that's highway 17 right behind it. so you can just see how wet it is out here on the roads. of course this is a reality up

here in the santa cruz mountains, and it doesn't look like we're going to have much relief any time soon. >> it's a bad scenario. luckily the people up here in the mountains are pretty familiar with these and are very responsible when these kind of things happen. unfortunately, we're on the beginning of what looks like a five, six-day stretch of a lot of rain so unfortunately this will probably be happening a lot over the next week. >> reporter: yeah, and the past 12 hours or so, we've already seen a lot of trees and tree limbs falling down and some slides as well. the chp reminds everyone to slow down, seen a lot of crashes up here, and expect that water to be on the road. if you see a puddle ahead of you, don't brake, take the foot off your gas, keep the steering wheel straight and cruise through it and if you're walking, just be careful. you don't know how deep it's going to be out here. reporting live in the santa cruz mountains, matt keller, abc7 news. and now let's take a look at the sierra where the storm is really pounding there. conditions on the way to lake tahoe from these caltrans cams. chains are required on 80 and

highway 50. tahoe is under a winter storm warning that runs through tonight. if you are headed out the door, download the abc7 news app. underneath the weather section here, you can pull up live doppler 7 where you live. this is the peninsula and you can see the rain moving in right now. make sure to enable push alerts and we'll also send you breaking news alerts right on to your phone. all eyes or in this case make that all ears will be on san francisco this afternoon as oral arguments are made between both sides of president trump's immigration ban. three judges with the federal appeals court are going to hear oral arguments this afternoon. each side gets 30 minutes to make their case on whether the president's ban should be restored after a federal judge in seattle blocked it. the justice department says it's a matter of national security, and within the president's authority. the states that are suing say the ban is effectively mandating discrimination. the issue is eventually expected to be decided by the supreme court. the arguments here in san francisco are slated to start at 3:00 this afternoon.

we will be streaming them live on our free abc7 news app. make sure to enable push alerts and we will tell you when they're about to begin. bay area tech workers are planning a walkout to protest president trump on pie day, that is march 14 and of course pi, not the food, the mathematical constant 3.14. to be clear, no tech leaders who are featured on the page have confirmed they are participating but organizers say they are working with tech and government leadership to spread the word. developing right now, iran has strong words for president trump. >> jessica getting the details now at the live desk. >> yeah, this story's still developing. just a short time ago, iran's top leader called president trump a newcomer that shows the, quote, real faith of the united states. this all comes after tensions heated up when iran tested a ballistic missile last week. president trump said iran was playing with fire, accused iran of being ungrateful for sanction

relief under the obama administration and this morning, iran's leader said, why should they be thankful, quote, because of extremist islamic state group setting the region on fire in iraq and syria so he was not happy with donald trump. and president president trump has been active on twitter this morning, calling iran's travel ban -- let me just scroll up here. calling it out and calling iran number one in terror. he said, i don't know putin, have no deals in russia and the haters are going crazy, yet obama can make a deal with iran, number one in terror, no problem. so, we'll see. it's heating up. back to you. belmont police say a driver is cooperating with their investigation after hitting and killing a 74-year-old homeless man. it happened around 6:00 last night as the man walked across el comino real. the driver stayed on the scene. he said the victim walked in front of his car and there was no way to avoid him. take a close look at this man's face. this is a bank robber not wearing a mask.

he held a manager hostage in the east bay and his face all caught on camera there. let's give you a closer look at the suspect there because he is on the run this morning after the robbery in san ramon. here's abc7 news reporter katie utehs. >> reporter: a robber, bold enough to show his face at the u.s. bank along crow canyon road in san ramon. police say around noon. >> he demanded money from two of the tellers, instructing them to give him large bills. >> reporter: then he told the assistant manager to come with him as he ran into a nearby neighborhood, essentially holding her hostage. >> one of the tellers reported seeing him carrying what she believed to be a revolver, a small revolver of some sort. >> reporter: nearby business owners worry about the three bank employees. >> very concerned because people know each other here. i'm worried about their emotional well being and the trauma that they may be facing. it's traumatic. >> reporter: once the robber made it to a nearby neighborhood, he let the woman go. >> that's a scary situation for anyone, especially if you do see a gun. >> reporter: the robber is

described as a white man in his 40s wearing a dark peacoat. anyone who recognizes the man in these photos is asked to call police. in san ramon, katie utehs, abc7 news. all right, let's talk about what you need to worry about and that is those moderate showers we're looking at right now. one pretty heavy around moraga, st. mary's, lafayette, so use caution. showers, downpours, strong winds, it's wet and dark out there. slow down. if you can't see the road, turn around, don't drown. there's a look at the heavier rain right there, you can see moving into castro valley. we're going to have more standing water because of these moderate showers that are falling. they head into kaiser creek road so heading into the east bay hills and spilling over towards rasmore right now in alamo, up

to walnut creek, up through 242 through concord and into pittsburg and bay point. here's a look at the richmond bridge. look at that. slides all the way across because of the gusty winds right there and that's what you have to deal with. not only is it slick but if your hydroplane and then gouf you've got the wind pushing you also. out and about, figure out how to stay dry and faster breezes if you're on the water. here's a look at 101 and 880, san jose, you're not immune from the rain. heavier showers this morning, still windy, with moderate showers at noon, less coverage at 4:00, much lighter rain at 7:00, but we've got two more storms coming before we get to the weekend. details on those next. here's alexis with your morning commute. it is going to be a rough one, mike. i want to take you now to some video from a scene in forestville. our crews were here just a short time ago. river road at sunset. loorj large side, trees came down with it as well.

crew on the scene is saying there are several more cars looking like they're going to fall as well. so definitely haven't gotten an official estimate but they are saying likely this is not going to be back open until about noon today and maybe that is a hopeful estimate as well. that is a lot of debris to clean up. we've got a lot of weather out there today. wet pavement, we've got some slides here and flooding as well. i want to talk you to eastbound 380. we've got a vehicle on its side that is blocking the far right lane. the driver did get out okay and i'm hearing about another vehicle that landed on its roof, northbound 280, not too far from here in daly city so we'll talk about that in a few minutes. live look outside at walnut creek. it is soggy and starting to fill in. southbound 680 but no blocking issues there yet. and a quick check of drive times too. westbound 580, tracy to dublin, 43 minutes, to delays on westbound 4 through antioch into concord and southbound 101, san rafael to san francisco, you're in the yellow at 18 minutes.

look out for flooding, hazards on the road, and possible power outages. stay ahead of today's storm with the abc7 news app. download it now. take a look. two men who were pulled over during this traffic stop in michigan were arrested after they carried rifles into a police station. they wanted to file a complaint about being pulled over and they wanted to test police to see if officers would honor their right to carry guns. only the audio is available but you can hear an officer yelling at the men to put their weapons down. >> what is the matter with you? >> can y'all calm down? >> put it down. barrel down. set it down. step back. >> michigan is one of 45 states with open carry laws. california is one of the five states that prohibits open carrying of handguns in public places. in today's gma first look, thing on going search for a man and woman allegedly responsible for a deadly crime spree. >> reporter: in this morning's

gma first look, authorities in florida are escalating the search for murder suspects after an alleged crime spree spanning two states left three women dead and one critically injured. it all started last tuesday when 30-year-old alicia frooer and 39-year-old vak jacqueline moore were found murdered. >> he choked her down to the ground, kicked her in the face. >> reporter: police say the pair struck again friday morning in lillian, alabama, where they allegedly murdered 52-year-old peggy broez in her front yard, then drove off in her car. in their latest alleged attack, kayla crocker of pensacola, florida, was left in critical condition, her 2-year-old son unshurd. and we'll have more on the man hunt coming up at 7:00 a.m. 5:16 now, there are new details this morning in the computer breach linked to bars and restaurants at the intercontinental hotels.

we now know the specific bay area locations that were affected so take a look at your screen. we're putting them up. they are the sevens bar and grill in milpitas, and grille, top of the mark, and luche on howard street. online and front desk payment systems were not affected. a group of facebook shareholders want ceo mark zuckerberg out from his post on the board of directors in favor of an independent chairperson. the shareholders are part of a group called sumofus that's an online community that campaigns to hold corporations accountable on items like climate change and workers rights. an undepartment chairperson would improve corporate governance and set a more accountable agenda, according to the shareholders. the proposal is designed to get the company's attention because it's not going to go anywhere. zuckerberg has more than enough

shares to overrule this. happening today, the marin county board of supervisors is expected to pass a second reading to ban nonmedical marijuana business -- i'm sorry -- in unincorporated areas of marin. the ban passed a first reading last week. it will allow the board to consider the implications of granting licenses when recreational marijuana becomes legal to sell. the board is expected to vote this afternoon at 1:30. this scene of millions marching for women's rights in san francisco and across the world could get a sequel. the group behind the women's march on washington sent a tweet calling on all women to go on a one-day strike, but that's all it says. no other details. the women's march was held the day after president trump's inauguration. the group says it will not rest until women have equity at all levels of society. have you which he could your pg&e bill lately? pg&e says an increase in gas rates went into effect in august

but consumers didn't notice until winter started and it became colder. one customer says her bill went up more than $200 the month of december compared to previous winters. a spokesperson for the utility says the extra money will fund gas safety initiatives. we're going to take a look at our 3 on the storm impact scale and mike, this is going to be a storm that lingers throughout the day. >> yeah, especially before the evening rush. that's when i think we'll start to see a tapering but everything will still be in place like this rain in those puddles that you'll still find those during the evening rush. this is from sunnyvale earlier this morning where you can see enough rain fell that you're going to find ponding on the roadways. here's a look at live doppler 7 and i zoomed down to street level to show you where the heaviest rain is falling. stone ridge drive, that is right near those new -- not new anymore but new to us outlet malls and you can see that stretches all the way back down to union city, and that crosses the san mateo bridge and that's sliding down towards the

dumbarton bridge so expect more puddles there. 680 and 24, where they come together, pud pudles developing there and 242, north of concord, pud developing and here's a look at the san mateo bridge and you can see how heavy that rain is coming down and how much slower people are driving. moderate rain, windy today, two more storms through friday, weekend still dry and warmer. today's storm is still a 3 with the highest impact in the north bay and deeper into today, the santa cruz mountains just got a storm -- local storm report for national weather service. we've got a couple of roads closed in the santa cruz mountains. i'm sure matt is looking at those right now. flooding, power outages likely. here's a look at my accuweather 7 day forecast. scattered showers tomorrow, it's 1 on our storm impact scale, light, thursday afternoon and evening, a moderate storm rolls through, a light storm for friday, and then it will almost feel like spring this weekend. hey, alexis. so close, yet so far away. taking a look at our traffic maps this morning, i have live doppler 7 on top so you can see. yeah, all of our bay area roads

are just getting soaked right now. that yellow, that orange, those are some heavier spots. boy, with we've got some dangerous conditions. northbound 280 we've got a vehicle that flipped over, landed on its roof, initially that was block the three left lanes. that is now fully blocking all lanes so it sounds like emergency crews are just arriving, the last we heard from chp, the occupants of that vehicle had not gotten out so there might be a rescue underway. i would avoid 280 if you can. stick to el camino real or eastbound 380 at el camino real. i'm not seeing any delays there. quick check of niles canyon road. that's where we had a large boulder in the road. they were saying it was almost as big as a car but it was just barely hanging over into the eastbound lanes so they pushed it back and all lanes are back open so that is all clear. just want to give you a quick

issues on the road, but we're going to start with meteorologist mike. >> did you see the sheets of rain sliding across the bay bridge toll plaza there in the lights? h hi, everybody. new information for you. this flooding warning extended until 7:45 because napa creek at highway 29 and redwood creek continues to flood. let's take a look. this is also an update. a flood warning until 2:15 for southeastern sonoma county as lower la gu that de santa rosa is flooding at the petaluma area and let me give you one more. this is until 6:00. this is a flood warning for east central sonoma county. sonoma creek continues to flood. here's a look at the radar. while the heaviest of the rain is over for the north bay for now, we're still getting plenty of are runoff. the heaviest of the rain right now is moving away from union city, hitting the sunol grade, 680, 84 as you try to get from pleasanton and livermore down

towards milpitas or the other way, watch out. it's getting very dangerous there with a lot of standing water from that moderate to heavy shower. going to talk about a serious crash now too, mike. this one is in the daly city area. we just got a sig alert issued for this rollover crash. northbound 280 at sate route 1. vehicle landed on its roof. sounds like a rescue operation is underway here. currently all lanes are blocked. we don't have an estimate on when that will reopen and i'm not sure if they're letting vehicles by on the shoulder or if they are totally stopped there. in the meantime, you can use el camino real, state route 1, but if you are in that backup, you are approaching at 8 miles per hour. metering lights should be flipping on any second. let's talk more about about some flooding. we are tracking a north bay highway that looks like a river. >> it left cars stuck in the water. amy hollyfield live for us in sonoma county. >> reporter: hi, reggie, i want

you to look right now at how fast the water is moving. that is not something you would want to get stuck in but some people were and i'm sure it was some scary, tense moments for them as they realized what was happening. that's an intersection. you would think it was just be a normal way to get -- normal road just to pass on through, you wouldn't even know the two were in trouble until it was too late. that's why they have closed this off for now. so no one's coming through here right now but around midnight, about three cars got stuck, six people had to be rescued. this is at highway 121 and highway 12. in a town called schellville in sonoma county. the schellville fire department is also right here at this intersection, so that was lucky for those people. firefighters were able to rush out here and help get them out of this fast moving water, because they were in trouble, and could not safely escape on their own. so, firefighters got them out, they are okay. but they have shut down this intersection so no one else is coming through here. there is a lot of rain overnight and it is still raining and of

course the ground is so saturated from the rain that we had all this entire winter season. so, just be prepared. be aware that something like this could happen, especially up here in the north bay and it comes up on you pretty quickly. reporting live in sonoma county, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. and pg&e crews have been working through the night to restore power across the bay area. so this is where the outage map stands now. at the height of the outages, more than 3300 customers in the north bay were out of power. most from a large outage in san rafael just north of downtown. the biggest issue right now is vacaville. the red dot you see, more than 5,000 customers waking up without power. heavy rains caused a small mudslide in los gatos. this is on old santa cruz highway just south of idyllwild road. chp has removed most of the mud at this point. the department of transportation is being called in to shore up the hillside-these relentless storms are proving to be really

expensive for our local counties. contra costa county supervisors declared a state of emergency which allows them to seek federal funding. the county says it l has $18 million in damage. >> absolutely. we have a very aging infrastructure, particularly with our flood control district, until you have that type of wear and tear coming very quickly with these series of storms, that's when those are revealed. >> repairs for a washed out road in pinole are expected to run about $4 million. a sinkhole on minor road in orinda is going to cost about $1 million to fix. if you want to know when the heaviest rain will hit where you live, download the abc7 news app. it is free. and make sure to enable push alerts. we will send you breaking updates straight to your phone or tablet. the ninth circuit court of appeals in san francisco is going to hear oral arguments today over the restraining order against president trump's targeted travel ban. the trump administration plans to argue the restraining order undermines national security.

many feel whatever the court decides, it's going to be appealed anyway to the supreme court. abc news chief legal analyst dan abrams had this to say on gma. >> the u.s. supreme court very well may say at least for now, we're not going to hear this. we're not going to hear the question about, should the -- should the temporary restraining order be in place. if that happens, that means that the administration cannot move forward with the order, at least for now, and that's a big delay for them and a big setback. >> these arguments are slated to start at 3:00 this afternoon. and you are going to be able to listen to them live on our free abc7 news app. make sure you enable push alerts and we will tell you when they begin. 5:35 and breaking international news coming into the live desk. >> several people are dead, dozens are hurt after a bombing overseas. jessica has more on that. >> at least 20 people are dead after a suicide bomber attacked the supreme court building in kabul, that's the capital city

of afghanistan. and reports show at least 45 people are hurt. some of those critically. so we do expect the death toll to go up. there's no immediate claim on the attack, we don't know exactly who's responsible. still very little information coming into our live desk. the attack just happened. i'll keep an eye on developments. happening today, alameda county supervisors expected to vote on whether to grand $750,000 to help its refugee communities. that money would go to a legal fund for immigrants. supervisors are hoping to access another $750,000 from an anonymous donor. 30% of alameda county's population was born outside the u.s. california republicans are hoping that by blocking funding for caltrain they will also delay or kill governor brown's high speed rail project. according to "the chronicle," cal terrain needs roughly $650 million in order to electrify a line between san jose and san francisco.

morning to 1:00 so that's something different. you may not have known that since you went to bed last night. down trees and power lines, we're seeing it develop. here in the santa cruz mountains, metal's there. we're having rock slides and some power outages and you can see moderate rain rolling through there. danville, alamo, walnut creek getting hit once again with another round of moderate rain. this is heading out to brentwood, discovery bay, antioch and oakley and here's a look at 280 at 17, nearly an inch of rain so far down in the south bay. showers and windy through at least noon. the showers will taper a little bit at 4:00, some light rain through 7:00, so this morning, that's going to be the toughest commute with a downpours, the gusting winds, the ponding on the roads and the hydroplaning, this evening, yellow, a little bit of caution lighter showers and still wet roads around.

let's talk to alexis where you told me 50 incidents so far. i think we're a little bit over that at this point. just after a 5:30 in the morning and we have a rough start. daly city area, just south of there, we have a sig alert on northbound 280 at state route 12, a vehicle tliped over, landeden its roof. that is a sig alert and we've got heavy traffic approaching for about a mile. el camino real is a decent alternate and 101 looking okay as well. also eastbound 380 at el camino real, we have another flipped vehicle, that one landed in the slow lane but now just the off ramp to 282 is blocked at this point. to not blocking the main line anymore. and we do have the metering lights on. so a very wet and windy commute into san francisco. we did finally issue a high wind advisory for the bay bridge along with richmond-san rafael, golden gate, and san mateo bridge this morning so both hands on the wheel and a quick check outside at the south bay, you are soggy too. haven't had many blocks issues for you in the san jose area but this is 101 and 280, things are really filling in. you can see that road spray kicking up so the wipers will be on high. the golden gate bridge
