the neighborhoods that has been greatly effected. matt? >> reporter: reggie, the neighborhoods have been impacted. just look at this. all of this debris that has been put out on the sidewalks and believe it or not, this is the second time that these residents have put the debris out on the sidewalks because they are filling up dumpsters here. you could see they are taking away the dumpsters. they filled up several of them. residents feed like this is a never-ending process but at least today they have some help. a busy day for san jose city workers. parking enforcement made sure curbs were clear of cars this morning. >> the city is taking care of it. they are doing this so they could clean the city. >> reporter: groups from several different city departments, including the conservative corp and environmental services met up to go into the recently flooded neighborhoods. dumpsters were delivered to the williams street neighborhood at about 9:00 this morning.

families are placing items damaged out on the sidewalk. today thef they -- they had a lot of help getting rid of it. >> we've been working for two days straight. tired and carrying everything out, but it is nice to see the city come and help us. >> reporter: karen davis' basement flooded. she didn't realize the city was bringing out dumpsters. she had already ordered her own and called out for friends help. >> hopefully tomorrow i'll have a whole boat load of my friends here to help me clean up. >> reporter: this is the first day of the city clean-up. they say they will be out here again tomorrow and if necessary back here on sunday. live in san jose, matt keller, abc 7 news. with a few areas of san jose still under mandatory evacuation orders, some people are spending the days and nights in a shelter. and today those who need a place to stay could move to the youth center right next door to the

james lick high school and replacing that shelter along with the one at evergreen valley high school. they need to close to get ready for students returning to class on monday. and tomorrow the city of san jose plans to open a flood assistance center at the community certainty. this is a multi-saagency, one-sp shop for emergency experts and they will all be there to help out. the center is open from 9:00 to 4:00 over the weekend and then from 8:00 to 6:00 monday through friday. if you want to seek some help today, 7 on your side's michael finney is set up in san jose to help people affected by the flood. he'll be answering questions like how to file insurance claims or how to find a contractor. so he will be at james lick high school from noon to 7:00 with a team of consumer experts. if you can't make it out there, you could always post your question on social media, just use that #ask finney and he'll be able to find it. we've been watching san jose

right? >> no, it is not. we have a lot of cold air associated with it but we have some distinguished guests in our studio we want to highlight and say hi to the coast guard and welcome you and them to the weekend. as we talk about that, we are looking at cold air that will bring in a couple of weather systems. not going to hold a lot of moisture, but we could see some low elevation snow around here, around hamilton and mt. diablo. mt. tam, temperatures up 20 degrees in some spots from overnight lows. and as we check out the rest of the day, you see the green on the screen. that represents a little bit of precip that is headed our way. not only today, but we have a cold weekend. but you know what? we have much brighter and warmer skies on the horizon. i'll be back in a few minutes to check out the weekend and time out the rain for you, reggie, in about five minutes. >> thank you, lisa. new details this morning, the alameda coroner corn firmed

the body was of the woman missing for a month. jayda jenkins was driving on january 21st when a traffic crash sent her car into niles canyon creek. severe weather hurt the search for jenkins. a dog walker came across her body last night. this map shows the distance between where she disappeared and where her body was found and it is a pretty long way. >> jayda was located in an area 11 miles from the original point of entry where her car went into the creek. >> authorities have dismissed foul play as a cause of jenkins' death. and as they update us on that investigation, they also revealed that one of their own will continue helping others even in death. sheriff's deputy michael foley died yesterday from head injuries suffered in a terrible accident on wednesday. officials tell us foley was an organ donor. the 29-year-old law enforcement

veteran died when he was hit by a prison bus driven by a co-worker. his funeral will be happening next week. and new this morning, sky 7 over the boy view district in san francisco where two people were shot on bancroft at 6:15 this morning. officers responded to the location and found two adult men with nonlife-threatening injuries. they were taken to the hospital for treatment and the cause of the shooting is still under investigation. developing news now, b.a.r.t. says ridership is down and it may need to raise fares. if you are thinking, didn't we just vote to give the system $3.5 billion and you are right. and b.a.r.t. says it still isn't enough. amy hollyfield live with us with the b.a.r.t. latest ask for more money. amy? >> reporter: could it be the rain? they tell me that ridership goes down when it rains. we've had a lot. it could be something else. they don't know. what they do know, they have to come up with ideas on how to get

more money. the ideas thrown out on the table so far are not very popular. one look at a packed b.a.r.t. train during commute hours and could you see ridership at this time of the day is up. it is all the other time giving b.a.r.t. problems. >> transbay peak trips are up. if the weekend ridership or the riders that are not trans-bay and the peak hours are down and that hurts our bottom line. >> they are facing a $15 to $25 million deficit this fiscal year in part because over all week day ridership is down 4% and the big one, down 9% on the weekend. officials are trying to figure out why. >> it might be because we're doing more track work on the weekend and there is delays and maybe uber and lyft have something to do with it. >> they have cut down on over time and now there is talk of raising fares or starting an hour later in the morning. the early bird commuters say

that would make life much tougher for them. >> if the train is full. it is really packed at this time. so a lot of people do use it. so that is huge. >> it is fairly expensive. people ride it so they could leave even earlier, so i don't understand why we need to do that. >> reporter: the board will make the final decision. they are polling riders this spring to get their thoughts. as for the bond measure passing in november, $3.5 billion, this is for infrastructure work and the first project is set to start in april which will mean more track shutdowns which could possibly mean more unhappy customers, b.a.r.t. is in just a vicious cycle of issues right now. live in walnut creek, amy hollyfield, stash taabc 7 news. >> thank you. media officials plan to roll out important service adjustments out based on your feedback and the agency is increasing service on popular routes adding bigger buses and making stop and schedule

warnings to pass along to you from lake port to clear lake here, looking at the lake at 10.6 feet. and so right through tomorrow we are looking at the floodwaters slowly subsiding. so this continues to be a concern and also mendocino county looking at snow. a couple of inches. and we could see the snow levels to about 1400 feet. locally looking at 2500 feet. but not all moisture is associated with these systems. looking at santa cruz, 33 degrees. and 51 in gilroy. half moon bay is at 50. and the golden gate bridge pretty out there with a few high clouds and cumulus clouds and more of these throughout the afternoon as a weak weather system begins to descend from the north. 48 by the delta and 50 in livermore and temperatures were cold this morning. but we'll look for more chilly mornings over the weekend and the afternoons, then we'll see more of this. more cloud cover and perhaps

some showers. best chance of that coming in on saturday. so cool sunshine today. spotty showers over the weekend. best chance tomorrow. it is going to linger into sunday. and then that second system arrives on sunday night into monday. but look at what happens as we get into march. yes, wednesday is march and we are sunny and milder and it will feel like spring around here. so a couple of more days to endure the wintry weather. and in fact, today it is cool. below average. but nice out there. san mateo, you have a wind sher sherlted area and the shun -- sheltered area and the sun should feel good. and our storm impact scale, it is a one. less than two tenths is what we are expecting for the next three days. hour by hour, notice later on tonight and tomorrow morning what is off shore. this is what we're expecting. spotty shower news sunday. a little more break in the action with more sun. but check out the cold air that could bring some snow down to lake county, maybe mt. diablo. in addition to that, you are
