>> reporter: the leading candidate is a liberal opposition leader moon jachlt ae-in who tends to lean towards china and north korea. if elected he has to review the anti-missile defense system hinting the future of u.s./south korea relations is heading towards a rocky road. >> so many concerns now for the new administration here. south korea will choose the next president within 60 days. the protests by the way are likely to continue now that the country's presidential office announced that park geun-hye will not leave her official residence known as the blue house today as many wanted her to. back at home top lawmakers got a face-to-face meeting with james comey after summoning him to capitol hill. >> comey was called in to discuss national security issues including president trump's bombshell claim that president obama tapped his phones. abc's lana zak has details. >> reporter: lawmakers were tight-lipped as they rushed into a classified briefing with fbi director james comey.

>> any evidence that president obama ordered a wiretap at trump tower? >> reporter: the fbi director has unsuccessfully implored the justice department to refute president trump's unsubstantiated claims about president obama as democratic and republican lawmakers are demanding proof of those explosive allegations. >> i think that the president of the united states who has stated categorically that trump tower was wiretapped, that he should come forward with the information that led him to that conclusion. >> reporter: two senators sending a letter to the justice department demanded the fbi produce any evidence. but following the closed door briefing with comey, senator mark warner said, i've seen no evidence. the intelligence community is awash in a wave of investigations. the hunt is on for the person who leaked cia secrets to wikileaks. its founder julian assange blamed the cia for being vulnerable. >> this is an historic act of

epa itself. speaking of global warming, of course, we had a freakishly warm winter but now millions are facing a new blast of rain, snow and bitter cold temperatures that could last for days. >> winter weather alerts stretch across nine states from the great lakes to the northeast. forecasters say the storm could dump up to 6 inches of know in some spots. >> it's packing plenty of wind. listen and watch that. this is an extreme example from the mt. washington observatory in new hampshire where wind gusts hit more than 100 miles an hour. accuweather's justin povick tracking it all. justin. >> kendis and linsey, thanks. good morning to you. we're looking at snow as we go throughout the morning, potentially even into the early afternoon once we get towards southern mass and boston. much of this will be during the early morning hours with 3 to 6 inches going to be a possibility along interstate 80. new york city could see 1 to 3 inches of snow and then back behind into the afternoon we'll have some gusty snow squalls or

bursts of snow along with much colder temperatures. linsey, kendis. all right, and fire crews in colorado are scrambling to put out a fire that's been burning dangerously close to the coors brewery. now, flames erupted yesterday afternoon and quickly spread to about 100 acres and fire officials say it's not yet contained. nearly 6,000 people work at the coors brewery. so far no evacuations have been ordered. the main strain station in a german city closed today as police investigate an ax attack. it happened thursday night in western city of dusseldorf sparking a massive police response. seven people were injured. three seriously. it was a random incident. the suspect was arrested after jumping over an overpass near the station. he's recovering from serious injuries. he's described as a 36-year-old from the former yugoslavia. and back here in this country police near seattle are asking the public to help them catch a gunman wanted in an apparent hate crime. they've released this sketch in

last friday's shooting of i man of the sikh faith. the victim says the shooter told him to go back to his country and then shot him in the arm. a 10-year-old boy may face charges for allegedly pointing a laser at a sheriff's plane in fresno, california. earlier this week the crew was distracted by a bright green laser light flashing through the cockpit. >> police say the boy was intentionally pointing a laser into the sky from his backyard. the district attorney is reviewing the case and will decide on those charges. coming up, delta air lines has been slapped with a fine for how it allegedly treated some passengers. and also new developments in the military scandal over x-rated photos. it's reportedly a lot wider than previously believed. and a couple of examples of the strong winds across the country.

the wind that's been whipping across the northern tier is creating all kinds of chaos. this being one of them. this michigan woman tried desperately to put the cover on her hot tub. whoa. she almost had it when it was blown back and smacked right in her head. she's okay, though. then there was this little girl who grabbed the handle of her front door. i'm just coming home from school. just going to hang out, go home, watch some tv and then, whoa nelly. the little girl and her mom are okay. a health alert this morning about a listeria outbreak. federal authorities are investigating a multistate outbreak linked to two deaths. six people were hospitalized in connecticut, florida, new york and vermont after eating a soft raw milk cheese made by volto creamery. whole foods is also recalling the cheese as is the creamery.

delta is paying a $90,000 fine for poor food service during tarmac delays. regulators say the airline kept passengers waiting too long for food and water during delays last july. now, the airline says the passengers were not kept on the tarmac for more than three hours but acknowledges that the delivery of snacks during the delay could have been a little bit better. mark zuckerberg's family is growing by one. the facebook ceo has proudly announced that he and his wife are expecting their second daughter. it's a welcome surprise for the couple who thought they wouldn't be able to have another child. >> congratulations to them. >> yes. when we come back, musher number six at the iditarod in the news for a rather unusual reason. >> our favorite story of the day. and a little fella who wasn't in the mood to meet the queen, all the kicking and screaming coming up.

the driver may have used a gps for commercial vehicles rather than directions from the tour company. four people died in that crash. we're hearing for the first time from the family of one of the indiana girls murdered last month. the grandfather of 14-year-old liberty german is begging the public to come forward with information. police have released video and audio of a suspect from german's cell phone. german and her friend abigail williams were found dead last month after failing to return from a hiking trip. >> i don't know exactly what happened out there that day. but i imagine there was probably an opportunity for one or both to separate and try to make a break different ways but those girls loved each other. they were good friends. neither one of them left each other's side. both those girls are heroes in my book. >> he says he believes the suspect will be found. a reward is now $200,000. it has been said that diamonds are a girl's best friend. well, apparently robbers in drag like them too. >> yeah.

so, this was the scene last week. police say two armed men disguised as women held up a jewelry store in pompano beach releasing this for help and forced workers into the back of the store and then started grabbing the goods. >> one of the crooks then fell on his face as they tried to get out. no one was hurt. and one must follow proper protocol in the presence of royalty. that is, unless you have a bad case of the terrible twos. >> yeah, a 2-year-old named alfie was supposed to present the queen with a bouquet of flowers but he clearly wanted no part of it as alfie's mom struggled to keep him still. the queen was gracious. >> yes, she was. the queen waited out the temper tantrum with a smile and dad finally stepped in to hand her the flowers. >> oh, my gosh. he's going to have to live with that floefr. >> they'll keep replaying that tape for him. >> all right. time now for some sports including a big upset in college hoops. >> that, indeed.

peninsula. northbound 101, right around woodside or marsh, just got an update on that location. vehicle flipped over on its roof in the left-hand lane and it's strange, the driver of the vehicle got out, jumped the center divide and took off and jumped a fence as well. they clearly fled the scene. we had a little bit of red as you came off of 84. looks like it's not too bad at the moment. we'll look at live traffic cameras next. two people shot, interstate 80 shut down and people backed up as you can see here for hours. >> the question this morning, what are we going to do to stop the trend of highway shootings? abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield live at chp in martinez. >> reporter: that's a question that the chp has faced for more than a year as these highway shootings keep happening. this is the ninth one this year. last year, there were about 43 highway shootings. this one happened on eastbound interstate 80 and it forced the shutdown of all those lanes for

five hours. this was near the san pablo avenue exit in richmond at 3:30 yesterday afternoon. there were two people inside a minivan who were shot by someone who was in a car that pulled up next to them. one victim had to be air lifted to the hospital with critical injuries. the chp thinks that these victims were targeted. >> we don't believe this is a random shooting so right now we don't believe there's any danger to the public but we want people to be a good witness. if you see something, say something. >> reporter: witnesses describe the car carrying the shooter as a silver dodge charger, and police later stopped a charger on 17th street in richmond and took three men into custody in connection with the shootings. these highway shootings don't often result in any arrests. chp says the difference in this one was good information from witnesses. so they say they really do rely on the public for these cases, these shootings happen so
