took off. they tased him but officers say it escalated and the man was shot under the scott boulevard overpass. neighbors told abc7 news he lived with his parents and comes from a nice family. >> he was very nice. every morning when i saw a couple times, morning. i never hear he was not with bad guys. i never saw that. i don't understand what happened. >> armed. the officer who shot him has been -- >> this lake county mother is accused of abandoning her 2-year-old son in the street while she was high on meth. a police sergeant in lake port spotted the boy. police searched the neighborhood and found the boy's mom. she is in jail on drug and felony child endangerment charges. the fbi trying to find the person who e-mailed a bomb threat to a jewish community center in los gatos. the threat came to the approximate penzac center just before noon yesterday.

police evacuated everyone to a nearby church. bomb sniffing dogs swept the building and did not find anything. everyone was allowed to return a few hours later. jewish centers across the county have received threats over the last few months. questions on capitol hill, the director of the fbi summoned to discuss a number of national security issues from russian interference to the president's claims of wiretapping by the previous administration. >> reporter: lawmakers were tight lipped as they rushed into a classified briefing with fbi director james comey and comey has no comment either. sources tell abc7 news the fbi director has unsuccessfully employed the justice department to refute president trump's unsubstantiated claims about president obama as democratic and republican lawmakers are demanding proof of those explosive allegations. >> i think that the president of the united states, who has stated, categorically, that

critic, john huntsman, as his ambassador to the kremlin. tech companies might want to consult with their lawyers. the white house issuing a warning yesterday that accepting classified information may also be against the law. abc news washington. more states are joining hawaii's challenge of president trump's revised travel ban. new york, massachusetts, oregon, and washington state all joining the call for the courts to stop the executive order before it goes into effect next thursday. they say it's unconstitutional and violates federal law. the revised ban bars new visas from people from six predominantly muslim countries and also temporarily shuts down the u.s. refugee program. that breaking news out of south korea where all night long, people have been protesting and it has turned deadly. two people have died. this all comes after south korean lawmakers voted to impeach the president, park

geun-hye. her supporters clashed with police overnight and why is this notable? park is south korea's first democratically elected leader to be taken out of office since the country adopted democracy back in the 1980s. they will now have to hold an election in the next two months to replace park. uc berkeley police have a new batch of photos they want you to see from the protest against milo yiannopoulos. a group of rogue protesters set fires and smashed windows last month. their actions forced the university to cancel the conservative nuews editor's speech on campus. police have released 31 photos of people they want to talk to about the violence and vandalism in february. you can get a closer look at the photos on our abc7 news app and on abc7news.com. federal investigators have new information about the pilot of a small plane bound for san jose that crashed in riverside last week. it turns out it had engine trouble before taking off.

the crash killed three people on impact. 46-year-old stacey pierce of san jose was one of two survivors, then she died tuesday night from her injuries. the initial report says her pilot, her stepfather, made several attempts to start the plane's left engine before it began running. investigators don't say yet if that engine was the cause of the crash. they're expected to issue another report in a week or so. the san francisco d.a.'s office is investigating uber's use of a high-tech tool used to evade local authorities. the tool is called gray ball. it's an app used to identify undercover regulators who try to track and clamp down on any illegal uber practices. city officials have called the use an obstruction of justice. uber says it will ban employees from using it. let's talk temperatures. you can see behind me a lot of yellow and some orange and that means warmer weather when you step outside this morning.

year, and now, well, we got this brand-new video about two and a half months later. the country is actually holding its national pyre tech nicks fair and this new video shows how musical fireworks are being used today to commemorate those victims. two lawmakers from southern california want to raise the state's tax on hard liquor to pay for tax-free diapers and feminine hygiene products. assembly woman fletcher and garcia have revised a measure that was vetoed by governor brown last year. this new bill would make feminine health products exempt from sales tax and it would do that by raising the liquor tax on distributors by $1.20 per gallon. in a brutal road rage attack in san francisco and it was caught on video. >> up to 15 bikers attacked a driver in the middle of rush hour traffic on highway 101 on

"the chronicle" identifies the victim as an uber driver who lives in modesto but comes into the city for work. >> a family member says he just had a baby boy. as abc7 news reporter melanie explains, this isn't the first time these dirt bikers have been spotted. >> reporter: this cell phone video starts with a side show on southbound 101 then escalates with one bike colliding with this car. suddenly, the other bikers speed up and at the exit, a red car, presumably with the bikers, appears to box in the driver of the white car. the person who took this video asked to remain anonymous. >> they approached the vehicle and they started punching in the panels on the vehicle and hitting the windows, breaking the windows and another vehicle impeded my view so i couldn't see if the man was pulled from the vehicle or if he got out on his own. four to five men were hitting him, kicking him, even when he was down. very clearly they broke his leg. >> reporter: the man who took this video says he got out of

his car when the bikers left. >> he had a broken leg, as i said. he had a bloody face. he had road rash. he was in pretty rough shape. so we called 911. >> reporter: the former new yorker says it was reminiscent of this henry hudson parkway incident where he used to live that prompted him to begin recording. >> these are the types of incidents that really need to get attention and that need to get prosecuted. >> reporter: chp says the m.o. is similar to other incidents in san francisco. >> doing signs, no plates, of course they remove their plates, no helmets most of the time. >> reporter: if you see something like this, chp says don't get out of your vehicle. >> they're already mad at you, you get out, good things are not going to happen. >> reporter: instead, call 911. in san francisco, melanie woodrow, abc7 news. that video. berkeley police looking for this man who they say is suspected in a sexual battery at berkeley city college. it happened on february 20, two and a half weeks ago.

emergency crews are starting to leave but what makes it a little unusual is the driver of that flipped vehicle ran, jumped the center divide, then jumped a fence. however, chp is saying they found a wallet of that person so i don't think they're really going to get away for too long. here's a look at golden gate bridge, wide open here this morning, could see a little bit of patchy fog in the north bay again today but overall we are dry and friday light. san francisco getting a group of mini-libraries thanks to some elbow greece from sales force employees. abc7 news was at rincon center as sales force workers spent part of yesterday building these library boxes. they're going to be placed in parks and filled with box. sales force is celebrating its 18th anniversary by paying workers to volunteer all week long. >> it's a good way to do team building and get involved in different nonprofits that you might not necessarily have a chance to work with. >> workers also made blankets for hand on bay area, a nonprofit that connects people

attractions. police boxed in the car. general mills raising awareness of pollinators on select boxes of cheerios. there will be a blank space where buzzbee would normally be. it's part of general mills bring back the bees campaign. 30% of the ingredients in gm products rely on pollination and bee colonies have been vanishing. general mills is asking customers to plant 100 million wild flowers this year and is offering free seeds on the website. a pet food company is expanding its recall. the recall began last month after a euthanasia drug was detected in some cans of eadvantager's dog food. five dogs got sick. they immediately recalled 12 ounce cans of hunk of beef. the fda later detected the drug in another batch. now evanger's has added two more

varieties. 12-ounce cans of braised beef chunks and against the green pulled beef. pet owners can return the cans for a full refund. don't forget you're going to lose an hour of sleep this weekend, sorry to say. daylight saving time begins sunday at 2:00 a.m. for most of us, it's not the biggest deal. most clocks and smartphones will automatically adjust but listen to this. researchers say it takes a child's internal clock up to ten days to fully reset from this. experts recommend shifting their bedtime 15 minutes earlier for four days leading up to the but good to know if you remember next year. once daylight saving goes into effect, researchers say you should give children as much natural light as possible in the morning but turning on lights and opening up the blinds and that helps signal their body clock that it's time to start the day it have it's going to be rough. that's the bottom line. what are we supposed to do? >> suffer. >> that's right. like we always do, mike. we suffer for the people. >> we do, we do.
