the desperate search to find a woman with dementia lost in the woods is expected to resume this morning. sky7 shows the area in san mateo county that rescue crews will comb through. 56-year-old bethnee haury hasn't been seen since thursday afternoon. abc7 news reporter katie marzullo has the story. >> reporter: the first full day of searching came to an end without success. 56-year-old bethnee bethnee haury was last seen thursday a little bit after 4:00 p.m. she was hiking with her dog. this woman lives on skyline. she says hikers get lost here all the time. >> a lot of people have come knocking on my door looking for their car or they just get turned around. >> bethnee! >> reporter: more than 70 search and rescue personnel, some on horseback, and 13 dogs have been looking for bethnee in rough terrain. >> this is a very severely wooded area. it's very challenging for someone from the air to be able

to see anything as well as the ground units. >> reporter: there's also the issue of bethnee's health. >> she has early onset of dementia so we're worried about where she might be located at this point or where she is. >> reporter: she was at a bed and breakfast with her husband and son. her husband reported her missing thursday night around 7:00. she's 5'5", and is wearing yoga pants and a pink shirt. her dog is a large australian shepherd. the sheriff says it's good the weather has been mild and there's plenty of water in the woods right now. the search resumes at first light. in woodside, katie marzullo, abc7 news. a 60-year-old woman is undergoing physical and psychological evaluations this morning after san francisco police say she was armed and forced part of the mission district into lockdown. police say the suspect surrendered after a seven-hour sandoff, it happened at valencia and 16th street yesterday.

abc7 news reporter sergio quintana has details. >> reporter: a diseabusy sectio the neighborhood remained in limbo for hours. the police brought in muni buses for residents to wait in and began working with the red cross in case this went into the night and people had to sleep somewhere else. but about 9:00, the standoff ended. >> the subject walked out into the hallway. >> reporter: this all started about 2:00 p.m. police say a pest control man was going from room to room inside the crown hotel offering his services when he knocked on the suspect's door, the person opened it holding a gun. that's what prompted a response. >> so we're being evacuated from the building. >> reporter: three busy blocks of valencia street had to be cleared of residents, customers, and businesses. >> the police officer just told us, you should run. he was gesturing like, you better run. >> they told us we were in the line of fire. we were not under any kind of

cover so it was a little bit chaotic and scary. >> reporter: we did see officers with ballistic shields escorting people. seven hours into the standoff, it finally ended. the suspect has been taken into custody. in san francisco, sergio quintana, abc7 news. we've been sending out push alerts about this story since it first started. download the abc7 news app and stay on top of breaking news where you live. be sure to enable push alerts. this morning, a man is in jail arrested for a shooting that shut down eastbound interstate 80 in richmond. the 24-year-old from richmond along with two 17-year-olds are accused of opening fire on a van. his passenger, a 24-year-old woman was also injured. the chp credits witnesses for helping them arrest the suspects within hours of the shooting. santa clara county sheriff's office has arrested a second person in the beating death of

an 88-year-old san jose woman. flo douglas died in october after fighting for her life for several weeks. prosecutors charged zachary in her murder, saying he broke into her east san jose home and beat her. this morning, jennifer hernandez is also in custody being held without bail. detectives believe she helped conceal the crime. a south bay man is accused of stalking as many as 20 underage girls. he's now in jail on $1 million bail up from $200,000. abc7 news was in palo alto as the judge made that decision for the first hearing of raij sanhi. yesterday, his father had nothing to say to us. the 35-year-old is accused of following a 14-year-old girl home, offering her money and gifts and keeping photo collages of young girls at his home-you have a defendant who has targeted young women and young girls and has annoyed and

harassed them repeatedly over the course of the last few years. >> investigators say sanhi has applied for jobs at churches and schools, more possible victims have come forward. the wife of the orlando nightclub shooter will remain in jail even though a judge in oakland granted her bail last week. noor salman is accused of aiding and abetting her husband, omar mateen, who killed 49 people last summer in orlando. yesterday, a judge in florida decided she shouldn't be released because the two talked about a club attack less than a week before it happened. noor claims she did not know the extent of his plans. well, mark your calendars. b.a.r.t. announce d its newest station will finally open for passengers on march 25. the warm springs station extends b.a.r.t. service to southern fremont near the tesla factory. abc7 news reporter katie utehs has the story. >> reporter: fremont is no longer the end of the line. b.a.r.t.'s warm springs station will open in two weeks to the surprise of commuters. >> i checked the little alerts

and stuff, so i'm very excited. it will really cut my commute -- my driving commute a lot. >> reporter: it's shiny, new, and solar powered. >> it is a first for b.a.r.t. in terms of the entire station being solar powered. also, a first is the fact that we have 42 electric vehicles charging stations. those are solar powered as we well. >> i think it's great, man, for the people that live in san jose. they should have done it when they first built this thing. >> reporter: approved in 2007, the project has seen its share of hang-ups from funding to power and software issues. >> there have been three major delays, and so we're very excited to get past those and ready to begin service. >> reporter: some 7,000 people a day are expected to use the station. for riders who board in fremont, you may lose the perk of being the first stop. a shot at a seat. >> i wouldn't have a seat available by the time i get to the station. >> reporter: then later this year, the line will expand again to san jose's barry essa

san francisco's health department has released an urgent warning this morning about a toxic herbal tea. this is what it looks like. health department says this contain as deadly poison. it was purchased by two people from an herbalist on grant avenue in chinatown. both a man and a woman became severely ill and had to be hospitalized with life threatening heart problems. the health department is asking anyone who has this tea to throw it out immediately. san francisco police are helping at a single mother ska former army veteran who was robbed at gunpoint with her 1-year-old daughter. it happened last weekend inside a parking garage on florida street in the mission. police are still looking for these two men. the mother had just taken out money for her baby's first birthday party. police raised the money to help

the mother have that party. there's also a go fund me page set up to help them out financially. the self-driving cars coming to a freeway near you, california dmv has released proposed regulations. the rules recognize safety concerns while recognizing the potential of autonomous technology. the dmv will require certification. english a framework for testing without a driver and identify requirements to lease or sell such vehicles and address driver licensing, registration, and advertising. the tony-award winning musical "hamilton" is now open in san francisco and yes, you can still get tickets. you just need a little luck on your side. from melting snow pack and storm runoff. this is video shared by the state department of water resources. as you can see, they are still repairing damage from last month when the emergency spillway was at risk of collapse. the main spillway was also badly eroded by rushing water. $3 billion bond measure is making its way through the state legislature after the near disaster at oroville. governor brown and the senate president agreed that $500 million should be spent on flood protection this year. but they are at odds over how to pay for it going forward. governor wants to use general funds while the senate leader favors a bond measure. well, with spring around the corner, have your allergies kicked in yet? a lot of people are sniffling and suffering. it's likely to get worse. early predictions are it's going to be bad. >> it's not the cold. it's allergy. allergy, allergy. >> reporter: spring is almost here. the sun is shining. the flowers are blooming. the bees are buzzing. it's enough to make you -- time

conditions we are cooler than we were yesterday at this time. particularly in the 40s up towards santa rosa and novato. napa is reporting some fog and we'll look for not only sunshine throughout the entire day but when the sun comes up at 6:26 so spring-like conditions for the weekend, mild pattern continues into the next seven days but we are looking at just a slight chance of rain. looks like wednesday our far north bay, if you don't see any light sprinkles, you'll definitely notice the increasing cloud cover, but overall, we're looking at high pressure not only in the forecast today but it continues to build over the next several days and that's what we associate with our fair weather maker, sunny skies, and warm temperatures and those light winds. how about 66 today in the city, 69 in san mateo, 75 in concord, san jose, these numbers more representative of late may readings so we are well above norm. looks like the warmth will peak on monday so here's a look at the beach if you want to head there.

ocean beach, 63 today with a light wind. 73 in santa cruz and 66 down around monterey bay so beautiful afternoon here, i said before it's going to last for the next several days as we sneak ahead into tomorrow. you can see average highs for this time of year, oakland, san francisco, san jose, low to mid 60s, even some upper 60s but by tomorrow, we will continue our upward trend and see those lower 7 0s in san jose, upper 60s in the city, maybe some patchy fog in the morning and near 70 in oakland. we'll take a little further for you in san jose. with the warmer numbers. monday and tuesday. mid 70s will drop off a bit on wednesday with that cooler air mass. if you're looking for something to do today, it is the st. patrick's day parade. should be a beautiful start with 62 degrees this morning and looking at more sunshine, 2:00, mid 60s and by 5:00, we're still comfortable at about 60 degrees. over at lows tonight, 40s in our north bay valley, patchy fog from the city to half moon bay. otherwise clear and remember,

sunrise for the weekend. we are starting out with mild temperatures. upper 40s in danville, 52 in concord and closer to the bay, low 50s, little cooler in the north bay, 4 to 6 degrees cooler and your forecast today calling for wall to wall sunshine this st. patrick's day parade gets underway this morning in san francisco with temperatures in the 60s but we'll go all the way into the mid 70s today, well above average. we'll talk about how long this weather pattern lasts and we will see some changes for the week ahead. i'll have that all for you coming up in a few minutes. it's been a week since the president claimed that former tower before the election and mp there are major developments about michael finney who resigned as national security adviser. here's abc news chief white house correspondent jonathan carl. >> reporter: the house intelligence committee has given the justice department an u ultimatum. turn over all evidence, if any exists, that president obama had trump tower wiretapped.

convention. >> lock her up. that's right. yeah, that's right. lock her up. >> reporter: three weeks later, flynn's firm was hired by the turkey-connected company and ultimately paid $530,000. he was simultaneously serving as a top adviser to the trump campaign. sitting in on classified intelligence briefings. on election day, flynn published an article declaring, we need to adjust our foreign policy to recognize turkey as a priority. we need to see the world from turkey's perspective. this week, flynn officially filed as a foreign agent for the work he did during the campaign. and that's how the white house says the president learned of his work on turkey's behalf. >> are you saying the president was not aware that lieutenant general michael finney was acting as a foreign agent when he appointed him to be national security advise er? . >> correct. >> and just remember. you wouldn't know that until he filed.

are being crushed by obamacare by increasing freedom, choice, and opportunity for the american people. >> president trump has said he has asked tom price, the secretary of health and human services, to reduce regulations that are driving up the costs of care. house minority leader nancy pelosi says she planned to retire if hillary clinton had won the white house rather than donald trump. >> none of us thought hillary would win. we all knew she would win. we knew she would win. this was, you know, oh my gosh, it was really shocking. but anyway, that motivated me to stay. >> pelosi says she remains focused on fighting republican efforts to repeal and replace obamacare. an east bay attorney is suing president trump to try and stop his controversial travel ban. the president signed the executive order monday. it blocks travel from six muslim-majority nations except for people with visas issued before january 27.

in the complaint, attorney andrew shelby says the order harms american people through discrimination. he also said that setting a date requirement for visas violates the constitution's equal protection clause. another san francisco eatery has declared itself a sanctuary restaurant. don ramon's restaurant posted this sign at the entrance. the restaurant hopes it can calm the fears of its staff which has expressed concern about the rumored immigration raids. the designation does not have any legal standing but the owner says it's taught her how to protect her employees' legal rights. >> we have to have a warrant. they can't just come in and say, hey, now i know that all your employees are illegal. it's like, well, wait a minute, how do you know that for a fact. >> the golden gate restaurant association is encouraging more san francisco restaurants to declare themselves sanctuaries. the group is hosting a workshop on the topic at don ramon's on

march 20. california's great america plans to hire 2500 people for its 2017 season. starting today, it's hosting job fairs on saturdays this month and next from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. go to abc7news.com for a link on how to apply online for the jobs. happening tonight on the peninsula, caltrans will reroute traffic on northbound lanes of highway 101 on to the newly built portion of the san francisqu ti o creek bridge. the off ramp will be moved on to the new structure. crews will start demolishing the old bridge and replace it with the new one. construction is expected to last until least next year. happening today, thousands of people are expecting to turn out to watch crews dye the chicago river green to celebrate st. patrick's day. it's a chicago tradition that dates back to 1962. each year, the river dyeing kicks off the st. patrick's day

dwoeveloping news in the soh bay this morning, a man is in custody after leading the chp on a chase through three cities. it started around 2:30 this morning and ended in santa clara. police tried to stop the speeding car but the suspect refused to pull over. officers say the suspect then slammed into a stopped car and tried to get away but police were able to stop him. an officer was hurt trying to take the suspect into custody. he's expected to recover. the suspect faces hit and run and dui charges. well, it was moving day yesterday in san francisco's presid yo, not for humans but for these little guys. they're caterpillars. the colleges picked hundreds of them and placed them one by one on bushes in the presidio. by next month, these creepy crawlers will begin turning into beautiful butterflies, a checkered spot butterfly to be exact. it was pushed out by drought and habitat loss. native plant restoration will allow it to thrive once again.

colleges plan to release the checker spot larva each year for the next two or three years until the population can sustain itself. tonight we spring forward for daylight savings time, but some california lawmakers are working to get rid of this biannual event. a san jose assemblyman introduced a new bill that would give lawmakers the power to vote to get rid of daylight saving time altogether and keep the state in pacific time zone year round. supporters say daylight saving is harmful to sleep while opponents say getting rid of it could interfere with summer and fall harvests. everybody's got an opinion about it. i like the extra sunlight in the summertime. >> we can't talk about sleep on this shift. i know how you feel. good morning, everyone. we're starting out with foggy conditions here on the golden gate bridge. not only here but in santa rosa and napa down to 3/4 mile. so be careful if you're navigating early.
