it's crazy. >> reporter: both the injured fremont police officers were treated and released after being taken to a hospital. the name of the woman who was killed is being withheld until her family is notified and we are being told that hayward police is expecting to talk about this. they are the lead investigative team on this incident and they are expected to talk later this morning. reporting live in hayward, matt keller, abc7 news. happening today, the fbi in san francisco will discuss charges in connection to massive hacks on yahoo. sources tell abc7 news four people with suspected ties to russia are going to be charged. three of them in roush, one in canada. the fbi expects to arrest that suspect in canada. they do not have access yet to the suspects in russia. sunnyvale-based yahoo has been hit by two large breaches with data stolen from an estimated 1.5 billion accounts. and speaking of hacking, breaking news this morning, hundreds of twitter accounts from media and celebrities were

hacked. they were branded with the turkish flag and swastikas sent out. there were hashtags in turkish that translate into nazi germany and nazi holland. what you're look at on your screen is a tweet by the amnesty international that was sent out overnight. the hack being linked back to something called twitter counter, which is an analytics app. so once the hackers got ahold of that account, they were actually able to send out tweets from anyone who was using that software. an east bay school may be dealing with a norovirus right now. dublin unified confirms at least one student has been diagnosed with norovirus. another three dozen were out yesterday with symptoms of the stomach flu. the parents has told parents and deep cleaned the campus over the weekend. the district is urging parents to keep students home at least two full days after symptoms have ended. who leaked president trump's tax returns? that is the question this morning after several pages from

his 2005 returns got released. the white house confirms they are authentic and downplaying their importance. >> reporter: president trump's tax returns revealed, partially. this morning, the white house is confirming what the billionaire president paid in taxes in 2005 only, $38 million on an income of more than $150 million. trump's tax rate, 25%. slightly lower than the average but much higher than the 14% 2012 gop mitt romney paid the year before he ran. >> what is your tax rate? >> it's none of your business. >> reporter: trump the first president in decades not to release his taxes. >> yes or no, do you believe voters have a right to see your tax returns? >> i don't think they do. >> reporter: a report from msnbc, independent award winning journalist david cay johnson claimed he received the first two pages anonymously in the mail. >> let me point out it's entirely possible that donald sent this to me.

donald trump has over the years leaked all sorts of things. >> reporter: democrats have called trump the, quote, deflector in cheer. negative headlines, his failure to back up the claim that president obama wiretapped him and investigations on russia. this morning, the white huse fired back and called the tax document illegally obtained authentic. we still don't know key information like trump's source of income or charitable donations. get ready to pay more to borrow money. today, the federal reserve is expected to raise short-term interest rates by a quarter point. analysts say consumers could expect a jump in credit card rates as well as hikes in auto, mortgage, and home equity loans. the central bank has signalled it could raise rates two more times this year. work expected to begin to repair damage to an east bay reservoir that supplies water to silicon valley. operators say they are

temporarily shutting down a pump to repair an intake structure. state officials say customers will not have their water cut off. water from the reservoir is sent to 19 million customers in southern california, silicon valley, and the san joaquin valley. marin county officials estimate the winter storms caused nearly $10 million in damage to public property. the county has identified 24 locations that suffered damage. the county is pursuing financial aid from the state and washington but that could take years. marin county will likely have to cover the repair costs up front. happening now, much of the northeast will continue cleaning up from the monster storm that made a surprise turn inland. it brought the heaviest snowfall to upstate new york and northern new england. here's a sight you don't often see, snow falling along the beach in north hampton. many places seeing one or two feet of snow. officials concerned that falling temperatures will lead to icy conditions on roads and sidewalks. major cities, though, like

philadelphia, new york, and boston were spared the worst of it. san francisco is moving a step closer to a possible fee to drive on the city's crookedest street. the county transportation board has signed off on a study to reduce traffic on this stretch of lombard street. one proposal would require visitors to make a reservation. people who don't have a reservation would still be able to pay the toll but would be charged more. about 2 million tourists visit the windy stretch of lombard every year. the people who live there say they are tired of the crowds and chaos. the possible recall for santa clara judge aaron persky has been postponed until next june. persky sparked major outrage last year when he sentenced brock turner to six months in jail for sexually assaulting an unconscious money. the cost of a special recall election this movie would be $6.8 million.

the cost of including it on the primary ballot next june is $576,000. happening today, the uc board of regents is scheduled to discuss the potential impact of proposed federal changes to obamacare on medical centers. a spokeswoman said students would not be affected if obamacare is repeal. also today, the uc regents are expected to be updated on cal's housing situation. uc berkeley has the smallest percentage of available beds in the entire uc system. let's talk temperatures. we'll start in san francisco where it's pretty narrow from about 51 to the financial district at about 54. most of us about 52 to 53 degrees. when you step outside. we got 53 in richmond, also in palo alto and pleasanton, american canyon, santa clara and petaluma at 51, one of our warm spots, pittsburg, at about 61. 55 in belmont right now and daly city, 50.

here's a look at walnut creek, south on 680. if you're going to be doing any outdoor activities today, know that we're going to have fog in the morning, especially over the bay water and for some of our commutes and then mostly cloudy in the afternoon hours and we will have high amounts of tree pollen and the uv index is going to be high and then kind of taper in the afternoon as the clouds increase. here's your mass transit. looking at the warmth, relaxing, dry commutes on the road and on the water, it's going to be a little foggy this morning. temperatures today, a few 70s east bay and south bay, the rest of us in the mid to upper 60s and tonight we're going to have temperatures mainly in the low to mid 50s, a little bit milder than this morning. good morning and we're going okay for the commute so far today as well. i don't have any major blocking issues. as you can see, mostly green on the traffic flows but we have one red spot, westbound 205 to 580, 34 miles an hour out of tracy and 27 as you get closer to altamont pass. the counter-commute, the

eastbound side of 580 up to that 205 merge, we do have a couple lanes down. they should wrap that up by 8:00 or 9:00 in the morning and so far since that is the lighter side this time of today, it hasn't caused major problems. we'll look at mass transit coming up. a wayward sea lion far away from home this morning, the all-out rescue effort resuming today. the company that collects san francisco's garbage wants to raise rates. the chance you have today to tell city hall what you think. we're headed to break right now at 4:38 in the morning but keep tabs on live weather and keep tabs on live weather and traffic where you live

and get screened for colorectal cancer. screening saves lives! welcome back. developing news this morning. police in southern california looking for a suspect believed to have shot two people on a busy freeway, and we actually just got this video into our live desk. happened on the 210 freeway in realto west of san bernardino. the victims were in separate cars and shot just a few minutes apart. one was hit in the upper leg. the other was hurt in the lower arm. both are expected to recover. police say the witness descriptions are also very similar. they are believed to be looking for the same person at this point, so we'll keep an eye on the investigation for you. take a look at these surveillance images just

released by santa cruz police of a bank robbery earlier this month. investigators say the suspect walked into the u.s. bank on morsy boulevard threatened employees with a gun and then took off with cash. he and an accomplice got away in a jeep grand cherokee. the vehicle is tan or champagne color with a roof rack and rear tinted windows. a naked, intoxicated man faces charges after falling a hollow shaft in napa. rescuers had to break open a wall to get him out. napa pd posted some pictures. you can see how narrow this shaft is. he was there overnight monday into tuesday. apparently he got on to the roof and force add door panel open that led to this shaft and construction workers heard him yelling for help and led rescuers to him. this shot from sky7 gives you a better idea of where the shaft door is. the 48-year-old man was found in the fetal position and treated for minor injuries.

he now faces charges of burglary and parole violation. marines -- >> the sea lion made it all the way there from san francisco bay. as abc7 news reporter sergio quintana explains, his presence is delighting many of the locals there. >> reporter: for most of the day, this 300-pound sea lion seemed to lounge around in the creek in have a kaville but then it slipped into an underground culvert and waited out the marine mammal center team that hoped to capture him. >> at this point, we're beginning to roll up operations for the evening. we're going to suspend the response. >> reporter: crews used blow horns and tried plushing the canal with water. they even sent up and down down a little camera bot to see if they could spot him. the sea lion experts offered a theory. >> it's very possible that he took advantage of the higher water levels and went a route that we haven't seen before. >> reporter: neighbors here say the canal had been brimming with rain water. >> i'm assuming it followed the

fish in the canal and now the canal has gone dry. >> reporter: the sea lion created quite a stir throughout the day. parents brought their kids and people stood in the setting sun but not everyone was impressed. >> my youngest was excited, my oldest is a little brat. he'd rather play video games. >> reporter: the marine mammal center team will return early in the morning. their plan is to tranquilize the sea lion and take it to the animal hospital in marin to see if it needs medical attention or can be quickly released. >> he is really cute. >> he is cute. happening today, a second public hearing on a plan to raise garbage rates in san francisco. recology wants customers to pay over 16% more for services beginning july 1. that would raise most monthly bills by almost $6. the company cites higher labor costs, facility improvements and a new landfill agreement as some of the reasons they want more

money. there's a hearing at city hall scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to noon. if you can't make it, the city plans to hold five more of these hearings before the board of supervisors considers that hike. hillary clinton's latest effort to inspire women will happen right here in the bay area at an upcoming event that abc7 is proud to sponsor. she'll be a keynote speaker at the professional businesswomen of california conference on mashlg 28. other speakers include oakland mayor libby schaaf and actress taraji henson. march madness begins today for a northern california school. uc davis faces north carolina central. >> this is the aggies first ever appearance in an ncaa tournament. yesterday, st. mary's got a sendoff from fans and faculty as they boarded their bus before making their way to utah. the gails got a police escort to the airport.

pretty special. st. mary's plays bcu tomorrow in salt lake city. many people flying out of sfo could have used an escort. but weather better? >> we may have delays here because of the low clouds. if uc davis wins, guess who they play in the second round? the university of kansas. here's a look at what's going on from the east bay hills. you can see it looks a lot like late maywith the june -- i hate to call it gloom because some people like the fog. it's out there. the low clouds transitioning to high clouds. we have that stray light shower in the north bay today and a wetter pattern is going to begin this weekend and last all throughout next week. let's take a look at what's going on right now. you can see the clouds increasing across the north bay. best radar returns are well offshore and right now they're moving to the northeast but this entire system will slide down towards us but as it does it's going to lose a lot of start. so clouds increase, the stray

shower possible in the north bay. here we are. watch the low clouds give way as we head towards noon to those high clouds and then as we get to the 5:00 hour, to the 7:00 hour, the clouds are thickest across the north bay but no real rain falls until after we get to the 7:00 hour and by tomorrow morning, there could be a little bit of drizzle around and that's why oakland has a couple hundredths of an inch in half moon bay. we'll see increasing sunshine tomorrow. our warmest day will be st. patrick's day, friday, and then you can see starting sunday, monday, tuesday, a 1, light on our storm impact scale. alexis. sounds good and so far the commute is looking great this morning. here's a live look at 101, golden gate bridge, you can see the zipper trucks are out widening that southbound side for you. and we have a dense fog advisory issued by chp for golden gate bridge. not looking terrible at the moment but it was really dense about 20 minutes ago. so it's kind of shifting in and out there this morning. mass transit, san francisco bay ferry they're having some mechanical issues with their vessels so a couple of the main ones are out and that means

we're back. san francisco supervisors backing a move to divest city funds from banks that are

financing the dakota access pipeline. the city has $1.2 billion invested in companies that are funding the controversial project. a resolution approved by the supervisors yesterday asked the city treasurer to add the pipeline to the list of things he considers when making city investments. other cities like seattle, alameda, santa monica and davis are taking similar action. the new warriors arena in san francisco is becomig a reality. at least for season ticketholders. >> abc7 news was in the mission bay area as the warriors opened their new chase center experience yesterday. consider it a virtual look inside the new arena. boy, that looks nice. >> yeah. >> fans can step inside a full-size model of a suite. >> oh. >> at 534 square feet, the suit suites are bigger than some san francisco apartments. >> true story. >> this is the only time i'll ever be able to see that suite. fans with see a model of the arena and get a peak at the view from their seats. >> gives people a glimpse into the scale of the project with the 5.5 acre park looks like, what that 3.5-acre plaza the

to form in those far left cash lanes but that's about it. 30 minutes until the metering lights flip on. westbound 580, tracy to 36 minutes. 101 to cupertino in the green. this is pretty crazy. a spilled soda forced an american airlines flight to make an emergency landing. the plane had just taken off from miami and was going to chicago when it got diverted to jacksonville. the airline says a passenger spilled a soda on an electrical item in the main cabin. we still don't know what that item was that was so important and american says the crew decided to divert the flight as a precaution in case the device caught fire. the plane landed safely. the 150 passengers were put on another plane. american says it will offer free meals to everyone in economy on certain cross country flights starting in may and it's

and good morning on this wednesday, march 15. you know, yesterday i was walking around and i was thinking, like, this is just the best ever. >> i know. >> so great. today, not the best ever, right? but still not bad >> still very mild. and really don't need an umbrella unless you're well up to the north and that will be during the evening hours so i think we'll have a stretch of some pretty comfortable weather. let's take a look at what's going on with live dopler 7. you can see some low clouds along the coast spilling into the bay and high clouds taking over the north bay. the fog is very patchy but it's going to be thick here and there. 44 to 55, that's how you should dress this morning. thicker clouds, 57 to 67 which is still pretty comfortable and a mild evening, 56 to 61. we are still looking good on the roads this
