the police credit two heroes with saving the girl girl girl l pushed a 13-year-old girl into his car around 5:00 yesterday. when the girl screamed, people pulled her out of the vehicle and he drove off. >> every person i've talked to, his brother, his best friend was like, what? >> reporter: his mother says police contacted her yesterday. together, they called her son. she says he was driving to taraval station to speak with investigators when police stopped him. >> he said he had been drinking a little bit and smoking marijuana and he was out was out they questioned him until the early morning. >> you feel like crap. of course. >> we know how huge this was as

these heroes came and helped this young lady get away. >> reporter: san francisco police say that, to their knowledge, eigl. did not know the victim. they are looking to see if there are more cases involving the suspect. >> we will be exploring that possibility. >> of course, i love him dearly and i hope they are wrong. >> reporter: police say the girls provided a plate number and car description which helped them find him. a quadruple homicide in san francisco led police to capture a possible suspect in san francisco. two of the victims are you can see this san francisco police car. investigators detained the man after finding the victims dead inside the southland park neighborhood this morning. officers had to break into the home after a relative called them to make sure the people inside were okay. so far, police haven't said how

the victims died or the man's connection to the victims. a 70-year-old man was rescued after his car went off the side of a cliff in marin county. the mercedes went down a 200-foot cliff. helicopter crews were able to get the driver to safety. a driver was found on top of the cliff. no word on the extent of the injuries. in florida, dangerous rescue for crews in key busineiscayne. you can see this worker hanging on the side of a building. he was on a scaffold when it collapsed. luckily, his safety harness held. he was taken to a nearby hospital to get checked out. >> geez. >> yeah. let's turn to our weather. it was another spectacular bay area day. this is a look at pier 15 where it was nice and sunny today. >> that's going to change.

spencer christian has more. >> in the northwest, a huge batch of moisture associated with a fairly intense storm moving into the northwestern corner and that's our storm late tonight and tomorrow. the storm ranks 2 on the storm impact scale and produces a third of an inch to an inch in most areas but 1 to 2 inches or more in parts of the north bay and the coast. winds gust 25 to 35 miles per hour. higher gusts in the higher elevations. here's the forecast animation starting at 7:00. notice by 7:00 to midnight, rain develops in the north bay and mendocino and northern sonoma county. between midnight and 5:00 a.m., the rain spreads across the entire north bay. it's moderate at times and then between 5:00 and 9:00, we see the rain spread to all parts of the bay area along with gusty winds. the morning commute is not going

fabricated. cal trans says it's costing about $21 million to demolish the old bridge and construct the new one. marine boulevard will reopen next week. it's been closed since last july for a $2.6 million repaving project that also dealt with a landslide affecting the road. it's opening a month ahead of schedule. and that helps because nearby morago road will be closed for two upcoming weekends so it can be repaved. a lawsuit has been filed in the case of a dead woman who was poisoned after ingesting some herbs from a shop in china town. >> a second person was also hospitalized but survived. the 56-year-old woman spoke about her last days. lyanne m lyanne melendez was there. >> reporter: he remembers his mother becoming very ill one hour after taking a special tea

blend prescribed. there were traces of aconite in her urine and tea that she was drinking. it can be safely used to treat pain. a study out of hong kong, a documented 52 cases of aconite poisoning between 2004 and 2009. the purpose of the study was to determine the causes that led to this kind of poisoning. in most cases, it was due to poor quality errors or time it was dispensed. >> we don't know if it was manufactured incorrectly or if it there from the get-go when harvested and manufactured. >> it was purchased at this store here and the owner was confronted. >> mr. chan, he did not take this very well. he just came out of store. >> reporter: we were also asked to leave. >> go, go, go.

searle's assistant filed a claim claiming that he cut her salary and eventually fired her after she complained to others about him. a uc berkeley spokesperson says the school hasn't been served with a copy of the complaint and is unable to comment. more than six years after that devastating san bruno pipeline explosion, pg&e is fulfilling its terms of its sentence. the company took out full-page ads in the chronicle and 60-second ads began appearing on television. kate >> reporter: today, ads started running detailing the offenses after the 2010 san bruno pipeline explosion. >> we are deeply sorry. we failed our customers in san bruno. >> reporter: the commercial and full-page newspaper ad that ran in the save chronicle on tuesday

city college of san francisco. police chief is pushing for this for his officers. >> reporter: city college of san francisco is one of the biggest community colleges in the country. but the police officers patrolling the campus are only armed with pepper spray and a baton. that could change. >> people have very strong feelings on both sides. there are legitimate facts and concerns on both sides and we need to have a robust and transparent conversation and arrive at the best decision for our employees and students. >> reporter: they looked at campus safety after involving a gun in the school's library in october 2015. no shots were fired and no one was hurt. but campus police officers had to wait several minutes for san francisco police to arrive with their guns. one campus officer explained. >> we're supposed to contact sfpd and basically wait for them to arrive and take care of the situation. >> reporter: the outside consultant released their

findings recommending arming campus police officers with guns, tasers and also body cameras. police chief andre barnes agreed with the report and is asking for those items to be approved. the council made up of students and faculty and administrators will enter their recommendations a he then it will be up to the chancellor to decide if the issue heads to the board of trustees for a vote. students are split on the issue. >> i think it's unnecessary. we have never had an incident on this campus that has required police force. >> if something happens, how are police not going to have something to protect themselves and us? >> reporter: if this issue makes it to the board of trustees, it will likely not be addressed until this summer. matt keller, and abc7 news was at ft.

mason where students showed up to express their frustration over the closure. there was a budget cut from the state. they provide art classes for students who might not be able to afford the art institute or academy of art. they say the school isn't trying hard enough to stay at ft. mesa. >> there's so much money in service asan francisco and they should be going after the tech money and foundations and they haven't asked the students if they've li like to contribute. oakland is getting a new mural. take a look. that is the mascot stomper like you've never seen before. >> he looks tough. >> he looks ferocious. a team of artist is painting the tough-looking elephant on the side of a downtown building.

he's been aidentified as khalid masood. he was 52 years old. he was a lone wolf and known to domestic intelligence but not on their radar at the time of the attack. according to police, the 52-year-old suspect had been in and out of jail for assault and weapons offenses but his last conviction was in 2003. so police say they are still trying to figure out exactly what triggered this attack. reporting live in new york, i'm elizabeth herr. back to you. >> what do we know about the ongoing raids and arrests? >> we know police are focusing on the suspect's last known address in northern england but at this time, police are not really seeing too many details. we know that overnight eight people were arrested but, again, police not releasing any names or even telling us how or if

good evening and thank you for joining us, i'm ama daetz in for kristen sze. >> she delivered twins at the hospital and a day later she passed away. those twins are now a week old. we're hearing from the brave mother's family. janine spoke with her brother. >> reporter: dan, the family is devastated. they are trying to hold it together for the babies who are just a week old. this is mico and kamila. roughly weighing 3 pounds when born at the hospital. their mother jamie held them briefly. >> she got to lay with them and hug them and spend some time with them and she passed away the next morning. >> reporter: jamie's brother chris is still numb. he was with her in the delivery room and thought she would pull through. the 30-year-old mother was diagnosed with cervical cancer last year and
