birth. tonight, her legacy lives on. good evening and thank you for joining us, i'm ama daetz in for kristen sze. >> she delivered twins at the hospital and a day later she passed away. those twins are now a week old. we're hearing from the brave mother's family. janine spoke with her brother. >> reporter: dan, the family is devastated. they are trying to hold it together for the babies who are just a week old. this is mico and kamila. roughly weighing 3 pounds when born at the hospital. their mother jamie held them briefly. >> she got to lay with them and hug them and spend some time with them and she passed away the next morning. >> reporter: jamie's brother chris is still numb. he was with her in the delivery room and thought she would pull through. the 30-year-old mother was diagnosed with cervical cancer last year and was able to beat

it. when jamie found out she was pregnant, she learned that the cancer returned. >> couldn't give her too much chemo because it would affect the development of the babies. she made sure the babies would live. she traded her life. >> reporter: jamie posted this picture of herself on facebook saying, tomorrow will be a great day. god has been by my side the whole time. all the prayers and love have kept me going as well. wish me luck. i'm having a c-section at 7:00 and a hysterectomy right after. thank you god for keeping me positive through all of the hard times. >> she got to see those babies and hold them and be with them for a little bit. >> reporter: they are out of the neonatal intensive care unit but are still at the hospital. they are healthy and surrounded by family. gofundme pages have been set up to raise money for her children and her memorial service. she leaves behind two other daughters. the girls spotted this cloud and to them it resembled a face they knew, their mother smiling,

get messy. meteorologist sandhya patel has the details. >> that's right. we're giving you a warning in advance. take a look at live doppler 7. the green that you see is moisture in the clouds. it hasn't reached the ground. we're going to have to wait for the level two storm to arrive. it's moderate in strength and quite a bit of moisture to work with. when it arrives, you'll notice it. it's a 2 on the storm impact scale. rainfall is about a third of an inch to an inch tomorrow. most areas will be between that range but 1 to 2 inches from the north bay and the coast, winds will kick up, gusting 25 to 35 miles per hour. higher elevations, up to 45. here's your hour-by-hour forecast. around 10:00, 11:00, as we head into 5:00 a.m., the commute time, moderate rain approaches the north bay and it spreads around 9:00 to noon. it becomes heavy at times for the afternoon hours. this is what you really have to prepare for. drive carefully during both the morning and evening commutes tomorrow. we're looking at gusty winds ponding on the roadways with

those downpours. it is going to be dicey. there's another system that is coming. it will impact your weekend. i'll be back with the hour-by-hour look coming right up. ama? >> 27-year-old joshua was arrested last friday night. police say he made anti-muslim remarks and threatened to shoot a woman. she was playing with her young son at fourth and howard streets. he faces charges of criminal threats with a height crime enhancement. this man had a sexual relationship with an underaged student in campbell. 20-year-old nathaniel makeeff was a volunteer coach. the detectives are asking anyone with information on makeeff to call campbell police. they believe his behavior was with one student only. meantime, police have arrested a man suspected of trying to kidnap a young girl in

san francisco. it happened yesterday as she walked in the west portola neighborhood. melanie woodrow is live in the city with more. melanie? >> reporter: lee eigl's home is about two miles from where this alleged kidnapping occurred. his mother was outside the home today as police searched it. she says she hopes the allegations are not true. meantime, san francisco police are crediting two unnamed heroes with saving a 13-year-old girl.. investigators taking boxes of evidence from lee eigl's home, he pushed a 13-year-old girl into his car around 5:00 p.m. yesterday on taraval avenue. people nearby heard her screams. his mother says she's shocked. >> you feel like crap, of course. >> reporter: she says police contacted her yesterday, that together they called her son who she says was on his way to taravel station to speak with

investigators when police stopped him. >> he said he had been drinking a little bit and smoking marijuana and he was out of it. so they questioned him until the early morning. >> reporter: police booked eigl for kidnapping and attempt to assault. >> every person i talk to, his brother, his best friend, they were like, what? >> we've been down this road in the past where things ended tragically so we know how huge this was that these heroes came and helped this young lady get away. >> reporter: san francisco police say, to their knowledge, eigl didn't know the victim. they are now investigating if there are more victims. >> and a special victims unit investigators are going to be exploring that possibility. >> of course i love him dearly and i hope that they're wrong. >> reporter: police credit witnesses with not only saving the 13-year-old girl but also providing a vehicle description and partial plate that helped investigators. in san francisco, melanie woodrow, abc7 news. san francisco supervisors

approved a bill to equip policep with body cameras. there were two alleged incidents where deputies forced inmates to fight each other. three deputies face charges in connection with those fights. it may soon be legal for your internet provider to sell your browsing history to other companies without your permission. the senate today approved a resolution repealing the requirement put in place by the fcc. no democrats voted for the legislation. privacy advocates worry internet service providers could now assemble detailed dossiers on customers without their consent. the house is also expected to approve the bill. more than six years after the san bruno pipeline explosion, pg&e is fulfilling its terms of the sentence. part of that includes an advertising mandate that begins today.

kate larsen has more. >> we are deeply sorry. >> reporter: in an ad that started airing on tv today, pg&e are apologizing for the 2010 san bruno explosion. >> the explosion and fire killed eight people. pg&e was convicted of six felony charges. >> reporter: those charges resulted in a san francisco judge sentencing pg&e in january to the advertising campaign. they also had to take out full-page francisco chronicle." >> we're pleased with the ads. it's somewhat disappointing to see that it took this long and had to be mandated by the federal court. >> reporter: san bruno's city manager connie jackson says it's important that pg&e detailed their offenses after the utility giant ran a series of commercials in recent years touting the commitment to neighborhood safety. >> it really angered a lot of

our residents and others who felt pg&e was trying to brush past the real issues. >> i think they need to go farther. >> reporter: a crisis communications expert watched the ad and said that pg&e has a lot of work to do before he gains the community's trust. >> they're going to have to be out and upfront about what they are doing and what progress they are making. >> while an apology alone will never be enough, actions can make pg&e safer. >> reporter: rice and jackson say those actions need to come in the form of more safety infrastructure and better, honest communication with their customers. in san francisco, kate larsen, abc7 news. san jose's mayor says he needs help. >> our goal is simple. we need to get 500 families housed. >> the city had a housing crisis before the floods and now it's much worse. >> not enough supply, too much demand. the passport problem that has people waiting months to get

an urgent plea is going out to help families displaced by last month's floods in san jose. 500 families are still homeless after their apartments were badly damaged. david louie is live at a library at a town hall meeting about the flood gets under way in the next hour. david? >> reporter: ama, it could be six months or longer before some of the damaged apartments can be repaired and reoccupied. a search is under way for temporary housing for 500 families while they wait to go back home. now, some property owners have already stepped up. some have even waived security

deposits. you've seen the destruction to the property and the hardship on families displaced from their homes. the reality is, hundreds of the coyote creek flood victims remain homeless. >> our goal is simple. we need to get 500 families housed. we're on our way but we need to do it faster. >> reporter: san jose's may juror, three council members and nonprofit groups made a joint appeal to apartment owners and anyone who might have a spare room or empty rental unit. >> it could be one month, two months, up to six months to help people stabilize so that the families can get back into their apartments. >> reporter: the city says it will find a way to pay rent to landlords for short-term housing. it just needs to know where the vacancies exist since the housing market is so tight in san jose. >> the mere fact that every night we have the vacancies in certain places in our city but yet people are still homeless out in the street and now we have 500 more families to add to that list. >> anyone can list it at a special website by calling

midnight and we'll start to see the winds picking up near the coast at 7:00 a.m. notice over 35 miles an hour at 11:00 a.m. along the coast here and gusty conditions last until the early afternoon before it starts to wind down. in terms of your rainfall, hour by hour look, we'll show you what is going to happen. tonight at 11:00, we see light rain in the north bay and it sort of gives up. at 4:00 a.m., it gets going. commute begins and north bay has seen pockets of moderate rain. 5:00 a.m., it starts to slide. san francisco into the east bay, it's still pretty light. by 8:00, most of you are being looking at rainfall. it's pretty widespread. going into noon, downpours are expected about 3:00 p.m. moderate to pockets of heavy rain and we'll continue with that theme at 5:00 a.m., primarily in the south bay, santa cruz mountains and east bay. friday get away may not be so quick moving. just keep that in mind. rainfall totals will look like this through friday evening. we're looking at over 2 inches in our wettest north bay
