about the search for those responsible for the deadly nightclub shooting. one man was killed early sunday morning at the cameo club when a dispute escalated into a shootout. 15 others were wounded by the gunfire. authorities say there is no link to terrorism, and they are looking into how the firearms made it past security. the scope of the violence caught them by surprise. >> i've been a policeman almost 30 years and seen countless shootings, and many of them were multi-victim, but not 16. i've never been anything like that. >> the club has a history of gun violence. there were two shootings in 2015. the operator calls it senseless. in a statement last night he said "the club will remain closed until investigators are done with their work." let's move to las vegas where a couple incidents led to a chaotic weekend there. left a tourist to that city dead. marci gonzalez is in vegas with the details.

white house. breaking news now from japan where an avalanche has rocked a ski resort north of tokyo. authorities say it left at least six high school students unconscious. several others are missing. the students were at the resort for a mountain climbing exercise. we'll have updates throughout the morning. across russia tens of thousands of anticorruption protesters flooded streets and hundreds were arrested in moscow. a vocal critic of vladimir putin. the u.s. state department is condemning all of the arrests, calling the tension of potential protesters and journalists an afront to democratic values. the military is investigating a u.s. airstrike in the iraqi city of mosul, blamed for killing at least 100 people, many of them civilians. the u.s.-led coalition said the air strike was aimed at isis fighters and launched at the request of iraqi security forces.

u.s. officials have not confirmed the reports of civilian casualties. and the pentagon has confirmed that another u.s. airstrike was behind the death of a senior al qaeda leader. officials say he was killed in eastern afghanistan last week. and accused of several high-profile attacks, including the 2008 marriott hotel bombing that killed dozens in islamabad. two american service members were among the victims. a nightclub in cincinnati will remain closed until investigators are finished looking into a deadly shooting incident. one man was killed early sunday at the cameo club when a dispute escalated into gunfire. 15 others were injured. authorities say there is no link to terrorism and they are looking into how the firearms made it past security at that club. there were hundreds of people at the club when the shooting started. >> people was running, trampling, i scraped my knees and arms falling on the ground. >> police have made no arrests
