who ambushed two undercover officers on a stakeout. the officers were raced to a trauma center last night in the back of a pickup truck. as you see, their fellow officers helped them get into the hospital. they were doing surveillance as part of a multiagency gang crackdown when someone snuck up and shot them. they should recover. all they know so far is that the shooters were two teenagers wearing dark hoodies. they're still on the run. we have a very weak description at this point but officers say they will do whatever they can do to track these guys down. natasha? the coast guard and san francisco have both called off the search for a man swept into the ocean last night at baker beach. crews responded to reports of a person screaming just before 7:00 last night. they found a 22-year-old man trapped on a cliff. he had been trying to save another man floating below. crews spotted the unconscious man but couldn't get to him because of the strong surf. they pulled the man up from the side of the cliff but called off the water search for the other man around 10:00 last night.

investigators will be back out in an oakland apartment building after a massive fire broke out, killing at least three people. one person may still be missing in this four-alarm fire. remember we brought this to you as breaking news on abc 7 mornings yesterday. more than 80 residents are displaced. part of the building was used as transitional housing for homeless people, people getting out of prison and those with mental health issues. the red cross is helping the victims. a temporary center is set up at the west oakland youth center on market street. now to developing news and the raiders move to las vegas. the city of oakland is considering suing the team and possibly the nfl. >> oakland city leaders feel mark davis did not negotiate in good faith with them. the mayor says othe owner refusd to meet with her. schaaf and other oakland leaders said from the start they would not spend public money on a new stadium. abc 7 news reporter laura

anthony has the story from phoenix. >> reporter: after weeks and months of hand wringing, especially in the bay area, this vote wasn't even close. in fact, to hear roger goodell and the owners tell it, oakland wasn't even in the game. >> for them to give us the support they did today is unbelievable to me. >> reporter: hours after nfl owners granted him permission to move from oakland, raiders owner mark davis seemed intent on moving forward in las vegas. >> every time i've been down there and seen people around they're excited about it and i don't know if anybody thought it was going to become a reality and i'm not sure that i really -- taken it in yet. >> reporter: the decision to allow the vegas move was nearly unanimously except for miami dolphins owner stephen ross who didn't think the raiders met the relocation criteria. >> i believe when you own a team you restore it for the city, like owning a utility company. i don't think everything was done to try and stay in oakland.

discrimination and harassment. he's worked on the assembly line since 2015 and is on paid leave. his lawyers say he endured physical and sexual harassment and racial taunts. the lawsuit claims tesla didn't do enough to stop the harassment. attorneys expect a trial date to be set for late next year. tesla says it has fired several employees involved. happening today, the house set to vote on reversing rules that limit what internet service providers can do with the data they have on you. the rollback would let comcast, at&t and other companies sell information like your brucing h -- browsing history without your permission. the reason providers fought for this change is because they say the rules don't apply to internet companies like google, facebook and amazon, this would give them a level playing field. the senate approved the rule change. if the house signs off on it, it will go to the white house for president trump's signature. happening today, thousands of women will gather in san

crews will remove the final steel tress section of the old eastern span of the bay bridge. this is video of a truss being removed last year. the nearly 200 pound 300 foot long section will be taken apart in oakland. up next is the demolition of the bridge's remaining marine foundations. crews expected to finish that work by next year. democrats are calling on the california congressman leading the investigation into russian election meddling to step aside. the house intelligence chair says he's not budging.

here's abc's janay norman. >> reporter: there's a chorus of concerns about impartiality and what's supposed to be an independent investigation. >> chairman nunes is falling down on the job and seems to be more interest in protecting the president than in seeking the truth. >> reporter: democrats are calling on house intelligence committee chairman devin nunes to recuse himself from leading the investigation into russia's election meddling. that involves investigating communication with president trump's transition team. >> given that the chair was a member of the transition team, i don't think it's appropriate he oversee that kind of investigation. >> reporter: president trump is deflecting on twitter asking "why isn't the house intelligence committee looking into bill and hillary clinton?" adding "the trump russia story is a hoax." but that story isn't dying down. last week congressman nunes said his collection of classified information allegedly shows intelligence officials may have inadvertently picked up the

communications of the president and his team. >> what i've read bothers me and i think it should bother the president himself and his team. >> reporter: nunes admits a secret source gave him that information on the white house grounds which is where the republican congressman was the day before he briefed reporters and the president about his findings while leaving his own committee in the dark. on cnn, not saying who he met with or where the meeting was at the white house. >> i'm not going to tell you where i was at on the grounds because, of course, those are classified facilities. >> reporter: late last week, a spokesman for nunes walked back some of his comments telling abc news the congressman doesn't know for sure if trump associates were directly surv l surveilled and he hasn't provided his committee any proof of those claims. janay norman, abc news, washington. the controversial dakota access pipeline is one step

closer to going into service. the developer says oil is in the pipeline. that means engineers can begin testing. the move comes despite months of protests and the objections by two native american tribes. they say a rupture or leak could threaten their water supply and cultural sites. the developer says the four-state, 1,200 mile pipeline is safe. 4:44. the state legislature will consider a measure that would guarantee a college savings account for every child born in california. the state already sponsors a college savings program but people have to sign up for it. so an assembly bill would amend the program to automatically enroll every child born here. the state kicks in and opens the account with $529. the new measure would give more money to families with adjusted gross incomes of $75,000 or less. parents could then add to that account and the state would match their contributions. we are tracking a powerful storm right now from the live desk. a cyclone pounding queensland this morning, look at this.

we have at least one lane closed on 505 but they were saying 4:30 they should have things back open. we haven't gotten official word that is happening yet. a quick check of the north bay ended up being a terrible morning on northbound 101 through san rafael. today we're incident free. if you're coming in from marin county, we're looking good there. we'll head back to the central valley up next. 4:47. if you have room for cute furry rabbits in your home, rescued ones are up for adoption in san francisco. a man was raising to sell them as pets meat. so the four have been rescued. the current caretakers say they are sweet and loving and would be a perfect indoor pet. >> we recommend people have a little caged area for them but a lot of these rabbits -- all of the ones we have here are litter box trained so they can run around the house. >> did you hear that? they're litter box trained!

a large pod of them. this video taken near point reyes saturday. the national park service says more than 66 gray whales were spotted, that's the largest number counted during this year's migration. gray whales move north from their breeding ground off mexico to their summer feeding ground off alaska. their migration continues through may. a new warning about takata air bags right now. honda telling owners of vehicles that may be equipped with the effective air bags need to be changed right now. 2001 and 2003 models pose the . a recall of takata air bags involves as many as 42 million cars. we're talking 19 different automakers. at least 11 people, including three in california, have died because of the defective air bags. we have a list of all the affected cars, go to abc7news.com. san francisco-based open table and celebrity chef michael
