the winds, and we have the north and east bay hills, otherwise the winds are dialing back later today. we are breezy to start out in the 50s and by noontime we will be in the 60s and going up to the 70s today. we're not stopping there. in fact we are going to have plenty of 80s here for the first half of your weekend and maybe into sunday, and i'll have the details in a few minutes. the high wind advisory for the san mateo bridge and the bay bridge and the dumbarton bridge here. both hands on the wheel but off to a quiet start. southbound 101, golden gate bridge, six minutes across the bridge, and bay bridge, 13 minutes. new this morning, three south bay residents out of their home after a fire tore through it. >> the investigation into what started the fire is only

beginning. abc7 news reporter is live with that. >> reporter: good morning. a big mess out here on south 11th street, and a lot of the contents were brought out so there was not a lot of stuff that could burn. the contractor is here boarding up the windows as well, but a few hours earlier this morning huge flames were shooting out of this home. check out how close the camera was to these big flames destroying the duplex. both structures were on fire. there was a danger to both units and the nearby homes, and some of the homes were evacuated just to be safe, and firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading from the duplex. it took 45 minutes to get it under control. three people will have to find another place to stay.

firefighters are still investigating the cause of this fire. reporting live in san jose, matt keller, abc7 news. want to tell you about a magnitude 4.0 earthquake not far from salinas. so far no reports of damage or injuries. we will keep you updated. a man accused of being a fake nurse has been arrested. investigators say he treated more than two dozen people in the bay area. this is not the first time he has been arrested. >> 39-year-old chat litz a licensed practitioner but was working at the city impact in san francisco. >> some of the abilities of a nurse practitioner is to prescribe medicine or do basic procedures. >> he had been with the clinic for months and treated 28 patients and prescribed

to survive. investigators have not described a description of a suspect. now, a live desk update. >> this morning we are getting a sobering new look at the aftermath of this september 11th attacks. the fbi just released archived photos of the destruction at the pentagon. i want to show you those. a total of 27 photos were up loaded to the fbi website. the photos show the outside and the inside of the pentagon as well as first responders at the site. 189 people died that day at the pentagon. they have not released information about why they decided to public the photos now. the trump administration fight on the travel ban continues. the ban prohibits people from six muslim majority countres from entering the u.s., and the ninth circuit is the same court

that rejected the appeal of the first travel ban in february. daly city police need your help in identifying this man involved in two indecent expo exposure cases. on monday investigators say the man exposed himself to a 19-year-old woman in westmore park and did the same thing to a 12-year-old girl on mariposa avenue. new details, federal authorities charged the former director of three oakland charter schools with six counts of mail fraud and money laundering. he was arrested yesterday morning in north carolina. according to the indictment, he used federal money to release properties for the schools. the properties were owned or released by companies that the

59-year-old controlled. the indictment says he charged a higher rent gaining more than $1.1 million by illegal means. how much you pay on the gas pump hinges on how lawmakers vote on the taxes. the governor introduced the bill this week. the bill needs to pass a state assembly with a two-thirds majority. democrat mark levine remains undecided. every assembly republican says they will vote no. if levine joins the republicans the tax will fail. that's why it hinges on him. the money would pay for fixing california roads. fremont city leaders are taking steps to get the proposed b.a.r.t. irvington station up and they wi the station will sit halfway between the fremont station and

here, an outraged group of students surrounded the group of students who is accused of liking the instagram page, as those students try to leave campus after a meeting. one mom said a protester broke her son's nose. the hateful instagram page targeted mostly minority students, and we are told some that liked the page or commented on it have been suspended. hundreds of students held a sit-in and rally yesterday to send a message against racism. we asked one student what this campus needs to heal. >> we just need to see action. we need to see that the people who perpetrated all these incidents are being treated in a way they will learn from this and won't be in contact with the people they hurt, and a change in the curriculum generally speaking because i don't think we learn enough about race or gender. >> the instagram page was up for

and lawsuits are expected to be announced. we know a candle is being blamed for the fire that killed four people early monday morning on san pablo avenue. the red cross has set up a shelter for anybody who has been displaced. and then a person was hit and killed by a vta train in this is the third person hit by a vta vehicle in the past week. yesterday's deadly accident happened just as the train pulled out of the station. it's going to be a messy commute for quite sometime in atlanta, one of the major highways closed indefinitely after a massive fire burned through an overpass causing it to collapse. the governor of georgia declared a state of emergency last night.

the fire started in pvc piping below the interstate and burned for more than an hour. cell phone video gives us a closer look at the size of the flames and the thick black smoke, and firefighters had to use the foam reserved for airplane crashes to put the fire out, and nobody was hurt. you may recall a similar accident happened here in 2007, a tanker truck loaded with gas went from 80 west to 880 south, and look at that, a fire erupted and weakened the steel structure of the roadway and then collapsed. caltrans hired a construction firm and rebuilt that section in 26 days. the driver of the truck was burned in that fire but did survive. there's a state capital showdown after a children's bill of rights. the bill says children have the right to have parents that, quote, act in their best

national security adviser is ready to talk to congress about russia, however retired lieutenant flynn says he will only talk if he gets immunity from prosecution. the news comes as the house and senate intelligence committees investigate russian interference in the 2016 election and alleged contacts between the trump campaign and russian officials. flynn was fired by president trump last month for lying about communications he had about the ambassador before taking office. and so far investigators are unwilling to cut a deal.
