once again inland near 80 degrees, around the bay mid 70s, and at the coast mid 60s. so, you may notice it could be a touch cooler depending on where you are. sunset at 7:34 tonight and still a pleasant evening overall. but we have some big changes with a pretty decent storm coming towards the end of the week. i'll tell you more about it, chris. >> fire crew have knocked down a 2-alarm fire in oakland. the fire started 3:45 this morning at 39th avenue near macarthur boulevard. oakland fire sent a tweet saying there were reports of people jumping out of the windows. crews also say heavy smoke and fire filled the top floor of the building. we are still waiting for word on any injuries. developing news now out of pittsburgh, police are investigating a shooting that left multiple people hurt. it happened just before 11:00 last night on madelein street nur alturas avenue. contra costa fire tell us they

treated seven people but right now it's not known exactly how many people were shot. three ambulances and two medical helicopters were at the scene to transport victims. no word on any suspects. new evidence could lead to a killer and missing daughter. last night people gathered at mclaren park in san francisco where the body of nicole fits was found last april. there is a $10,000 reward for information leading to her daughter's return. abc abc 7 news reporter tiffany p>> reporter: family want to scoop her into their arms, hear her laugh, see her smile. >> i believe she is still alive. >> reporter: the toddler was missing last april after her moment failed to show up for work at best buy. nicole's body was found a few days later in a shallow grave in mclaren park covered with a piece of plywood. no one has seen arian a since.

>> this right here is our hopes and prayers that she gets home safely. >> reporter: in san francisco, tiffany wilson, abc 7 news. >> new clues have also emerged in the search for pearl pen son. she vanished near her home in vallejo in may of last year. and now investigators believe the 15-year-old may still be alive and is possibly being held by human traffickers. they have new evidence to focus again on the town of jenner in sonoma county. the santa rosa press democrat reports suspected kidnapper was captured by surveillance cameras at a gas station in bodega bay the day after she vanished. that man fernando castro died later that day in a shoot out with police in santa barbara county. 5:04 is our time in antioch. a freeway accident sent more than a dozen people to the homt. the victims include seven children. we're told at least four people suffered very serious injuries along westbound highway 4 near

lone tree way. three badly injured children had to be flown by helicopter to trauma centers in oakland and sacramento. >> with the incident being spread out on highway 4, we had all of our resources on the highway. we could quickly triage and transport those patients from the ambulance to the helicopter. it was the quickest method to get them to the hospital. >> the highway patrol says at least two cars collide at around 6:15 last night. officers closed all westbound lanes on highway 4 for about 90 minutes. 5:05 is the time. san mateo congresswoman jackie spear hosted a town hall meeting with the former ambassador to russia. abc 7 news reporter was there for the event and has the story. >> reporter: former ambassador gave residents a unique perspective on the russian interference in the 2016 election. the behavior of devin nunez took center stage. >> the smart behavior of the

this morning and many of those are feared dead. on friday night an avalanche of water from three overflowing rivers swept through a city of 40,000 people while everyone was sleeping. the colombian president blames climate change for triggering the avalanche. we are days away from the opening of the new apple park in cupertino. we're getting a new look at how close it is to being finished. duncan sinl field shared this new drone video take a few days a go. construction still going on, some apple employees expected to move into the $5 billion campus this month. the late apple founder steve jobs said the new campus would be the best office building in the world. abloney season has been pushed back and shortened this year. the season traditionally started april 1st every year for the past four decades. this year it will start on may 1st and go until june 30th then pickup again august 1st to october 31st. the month of november is also

degrees, san jose a 4 and low.50s as well through gilroy and half moon bay. this time we're looking from sutra. you notice some of the patchy low clouds and fog right there. some numbers are still in the 40s like santa rosa at 48 right now, and livermore at 49. most other areas are in the low 50s. and here's what you can expect for today. we have some patchy coastal morning faug that will be clear by about midday. then we'll see some slightly cooler temperatures for the coast and around the bay with that fog. rainy, though, and win be difficult. get ready for that by the end of the week. we're going to bring our storm impact scale back to the scene. we are expecting a 2. this ranks 2 out of 5. a moderate storm friday. half an inch to inch and a half. the winds will really pickup friday afternoon into saturday. so, that's something also we're going to be concerned about. here's a look terrain chances.

noon at the san mateo county event center. what should have been a fun time in a hotel swimming pool turned tragic in michigan. one 13-year-old boy died and other children needed to be revived after suffering carbon monoxide poisoning. the odorless colorless and lethal gas even sickened first responders. abc reporter chuck see bert son tells us more. >> reporter: first responders to this small town michigan hotel pool became a mass casualty scene. >> i have a report of six to seven people unconscious. >> reporter: carbon monoxide killing a 13-year-old boy and ad sickening others. they began falling ill. >> my mom hurried up and wend down there, when she arrived, the kids were surrounding the pool passed out, throwing up. >> they were pulling bodies laying them side by side.

along the same street during the past week. police officers across california aren't making as many arrests. the los angeles times reports from 2013 to 2015 police statewide took the fewest number of people into custody in nearly 50 years. the exact reason is unclear, but some police -- some people in law enforcement say there are staffing shortages and some officers have lost motivation for the job. police have been under more scrutiny from both the public and their supervisors after national protests against police brutality. the director of the l.a.p.d. union blames proposition 47, the statewide measure passed in 2014 that made some drug and property crimes no longer felonies. new this morning just in time for some summer reading, all san francisco public library branches will be open sefven das a week. they will have enough staff to

in sports it's finally opening day for the g men. madison bumgarner face the chase field in arizona. first pitch is 1:10 p.m. back here at home six games left in the regular season, the warriors will try to move closer to securing the western conference top seed. golden state takes on the wizards at oracle arena. tip off is 5:00 p.m.. the stage is set for tomorrow's national championship game. yesterday both final four games came down to free throws ed in the final seconds. here is mike shumann with the highlights in this morning's sports. >> well, the men's final four in phoenix where the oregon ducks were the only pac-12 team remaining and trying to make the first title games since 1939, the first ncaa tournament which they won. north carolina lost last year to villanova on the buzzer beater.

in parts of the bay area. there's beach hazard in effect through tomorrow morning. this is mainly for west and northwest facing beaches. we could see large breakers, sneaker waves, rip currents. so, fur heading to the beach, the temperature will be pleasant, but look out for some of these dangerous conditions that could sneak up on you. right now temperatures are in the upper 40s to low 50s. so, if your house overheated now is the time to open up the windows and let cool air in. 48 in santa rosa. 52 in san francisco. san jose 54 degrees, los gatos 47 degrees right now. here's a pretty shot as we look towards the transamerica tower and some of those low clouds pulling in from the coast. we'll have to deal with local patchy coastal morning fog. it will clear by midday and slightly cooler numbers for the coast and the bay due to the fog. get ready for a rainy and windy weather. that's going to happen at the end of the week. so, we're going to bring back our abc 7 exclusive storm impact scale. we rank each storm from a 1 to 5. the storm on friday is going to

be a level 2. it's a moderate storm. rainfall ranges anywhere from half an inch to an inch and a half, and then gusty winds which could cause some possible down trees and power lines so look out for that. the chances of rain for the week are zero through wednesday. we're going to have pleasant weather through then. then thursday night that's when the rain starts to move into saturday, the storm level impacts to 2, kind of lingers into saturday. i'll show you the forecast animation. thursday evening we're still mostly dry but we'll see an increase in cloud cover. friday morning heavy rain in parts with green and yellow. it could be a bit of a messy commute. the rain continues throughout friday into the evening hours and the heavier rain starts to move south. and then some showers will linger into saturday. but the other concern is the strong gusts that we will see with this system. so, friday night, look at about midnight, we're talking about 40

plus mile per hour winds through the north bay. and then it still remains heavy. in fact, by friday morning, it goes up to 50 miles per hour in parts of the north bay and then 30 miles per hour in parts of the south bay. and then continues through the afternoon. so, the winds will definitely be a concern with this upcoming storm. for today, though, highs are going to be quite pleasant, much like yesterday, mild inland, some 80s for you, north bay upper 7 0s and east bay valley. 79 in san francisco, 78 in san jose. so, overall sunny day ahead. summer-like spread with temperatures ranging from 80 inland to 64 at the coast. it's going to be a little bit breezy and cooler tomorrow. you'll notice a slight change, but we are still above average. the mild pattern and sunny weather continues through wednesday. then thursday evening showers move in and notice friday, temperatures tumble into the 60s

welcome back. here are the winning numbers from last night's $60 million power ball drawing. 9, 32, 36, 44, 65, the power ball number 1. a ticket purchased in arizona matched all six numbers to win the jack bought. wednesday's night's drawing resets to $40 million. happening today, thousands of runners will take to the streets of oakland for the annual running festival. the day features five races of all distances, marathon, half marathon, team relay, 5 k and kids fun run. opening remarks start at 7:00 this morning with the marathon and team relay races following at 7:10. runners take off from east shore park and grand avenue in macarthur boulevard. the awards ceremony will be at noon. next on abc 7 mornings at 6:00, more than a dozen people including children are injured after two fully loaded mini vans collide on an east bay freeway.
