francisco, people flock to dolores park and unfortunately they often leave behind a mess. these are pictures shot this morning of yesterday's sunny day aftermath. according to mission local.com, a crew of eight city workers spent hours cleaning up the mess. several neighbors told me dolores park looked trashed this morning. they say the sunny weekends are a double edged sword. they love to see people enjoying the open spaces of the city but they're not happy that lots of people simply don't clean up after themselves. >> so much trash. it seems like it's just a lot of people from like out of town and stuff who come to visit for the day and don't really take care of it. >> we are hoping to find a trash on the exterior of the park and if not it's going home with us. >> reporter: lauri and her family packed up their trash and hauled it to one of the trash bins on the outer perimeter of the park. there are a few temporary signs reminding people to take the trash with them, but we noticed there are only a few bins inside

of the park so people have to walk all the way outside of the park so that they can drop off their recyclables and their trash. so, sometimes it's by it of a haul if people are inside the park. reporting live at dolores park in san francisco, i'm sergio. abc 7 news. >> thank you very much. as you can see it was just as sunny as it was yesterday but a bit cooler than yesterday. a live look at our exploratorium cam from pier 15. beautiful blue skies. wasn't the case all day, though, for more let's check in with lisa in for drew. blue kiez all week? i don't think so, lisa. >> you're right about this morning. the reason why it wasn't a warm is because we had this, the fog. this is a look at the marine layer starting with the gray sky. with all that sunshine and a north wind it was swept away quickly. we enjoyed the blue sky. still temperatures anywhere from 9 to 13 degrees above average today. check it out from our sutro tower camera. we are still in the mid 70s in mountain view. 74 in san jose, 77 in gilroy.

this is mount tamme, 81 from santa rosa, 77 in fairfield, concord now we believe this. look at that. we have got a one and a two and another one on our storm impact scale. the days leading up to the rain are going to be sunny and beautiful. i'll detail that for you and tell you how much rain you're going to get in your neighborhood by the end of the week. eric? >> lisa, thank you very much. abc 7 news was at aquatic park in san francisco this morning as boaters rescued one person zrugling in the water. they brought them on board to the hyde street pier. that pirn will be okay. a 13-year-old napa girl is recovering after allegedly being kidnapped and held hostage by a suspect more than 27 hours. investigators say she was taken in napa and it all ended when the girl bravely jumped out of the kidnapper's moving truck near bow ddega bay. >> anything done to a child is hor ichk.

>> reporter: neighbors inside this mobile home park reacted to news 53 year old tim marble is accused of kidnapping a girl. he stays with relatives but rarely spoke with anyone. >> it's surprising. i never would have thought especially in the park i live in. >> my prayers are with her and her family. it's really scary to hear. >> reporter: shock and surprise from the customers at this shell station where the 13-year-old was kidnapped around 3:00 a.m. onfully. the sonoma county sheriff's department says the teen ran away from her home after a fight with her parents and met marble and convinced her to get in his truck. he drove for hours sexually assaulting the girl and forcing her to take drugs. >> she pulled out a knife and started cutting her leg. he started carving his name into her arm. >> reporter: but the girl

escaped her kidnapper on bodega bay by jumping from the pickup truck and hiding in the bushes. >> she called the cops. >> reporter: when deputies showed up. >> she said she had been the victim of sexual assault by this man. >> she was pretty brave to do that. you don't know where your future holds or do i jump and take a risk and see if i make it or not. >> super brave. we're very fortunate. i can't imagine what she went through. >> reporter: police say marble has a long rap sheet across california from drug offenses to domestic violence charges, but no sex crimes. marble lives in the sonoma county jail, the girl back home with her family trying to recover from her long ordeal. in napa, cornell bernard, abc 7 news. >> police a est ared a man after a birthday party shooting in pittsburgh injured five pe nigh house on madelein street. police say the gunman started a fight after being asked to leave

then opened fire hitting five people. all victims should live. party guests held the gunman down until police arrived. still in the east bay, i-80 traffic is backed up to the bay bridge toll plaza after an suv caught fire. this happened an hour ago. our em am i ville camera shows the problem. witnesses saw flames coming from under the suv before the driver pulled over. the fire is out now and the vehicle is gone, but the traffic jamb extends for miles. a bay area based coast guard crew returned home today following a major victory in america's war against drug smugglers. a 98 day mission in the pacific, they got cocaine worth $55 million off the coast of sentra and south america. they used a drone to catch p senate republicans have sad they will change the rules if they have to to get gorsuch confirmed. reporter andrew spencer has

details. >> reporter: one way or another, senate republicans say gorsuch will be confirmed this week as the next u.s. supreme court justice. senate majority leader mitch mcconnell tells f"fox news sunday" that will happen even if they have to change the senate rules. >> judge gorsuch is going to be confirmed. the way in which that occurs is in the hands of the democratic minority. >> reporter: senate minority leader chuck schumer told nbc's meet the press says it is highly, highly unlikely gorsuch will get enough support to get a filibuster. >> why doesn't president trump, democrats and republicans in the senate sit down and try to come up with a mainstream nominee. >> reporter: echoing mcconnell he made it clear on face the nation senate republicans do intend to push gorsuch through this week with or without democratic support. >> if they filibuster neil gorsuch, they're going to filibuster everyone that this president might propose. >> reporter: on sunday senator joe donlly of indiana joined a small group of democrats

publicly supporting gorsuch issuing a statement, the senate should keep the 60-vote threshold for supreme court nominees. it isn't clear whether republicans can convince enough democrats to reach that threshold. abc 7 news. >> president trump has approved sending federal money for damage from last month's storms. this is the fourth presidential disaster declaration and it includes the severe flooding around san jose. money is now available for emergency repairs or replacement in 42 counties including alameda, contra costa, marin, napa, san mateo, santa clara, santa cruz, solano, and sonoma counties. the declaration also covers the damage spillway at lake oroville. there are now calls for emergency hearings about that busted oroville dam and it's not because of anything we know about the break and flood, but because of what we don't know. and a call for help answered for some south bay residents feeling insecure with recent immigration enforcement.

two of california's top youth hockey teams faced off in san jose for the state championship today. >> let's go. >> the team in the darker colored uniforms, the san jose junior sharks, is all girl. their opponents, the san francisco saber cats are almost entirely all boys. one of the sharks tied it to force overtime and it took two overtimes for the saber cats to win it. >> we were down and we had 17 seconds left and i got to tip in

of sunshine and breezy winds will be in the 60s at the coast. 68 in the city. a few degrees cooler here. you'll feel the wind pickup. 72 in oakland, we'll see more mid 70s in the north bay. 75 out towards antioch. if you're going to the game tomorrow over in oakland, look for numbers in the mid 60s. sun sets at 7:34. we'll be dropping into the mid 50s. looks like a great opening day for the a's. stormy scale 2 on friday, anywhere from half inch to 2 1/2 inches: most will be in the north bay. winds will kick up. it will happen mainly on friday. but by thursday we're cloudy, late thursday 10:00, the rain spreads through the bay area, stopping here, your friday morning commute. check it ut 0. we have got downpours by friday afternoon and evening. it begins to break up a bit, but there's more of it on saturday. so, i want to show you how the rain accumulates on friday. this is going to be pretty interesting as we get into your friday morning. we already have a half inch in oakland, a third in mountain
