of sexually assaulting women. >> one woman came forward on social media and since then several others say it happened to them, too. kate larson is live along the judah line. kate? >> reporter: one of the assaults took place on the n judah which picks up across the street at dubose park. but the man is known to assault other women. more people continue to come forward who say they recognize this man who victims, witnesses and police say is sexually assaulting women on san francisco muni lines. one assault took place last thursday on the outbound n judah. the victim tells us she recognized the man rubbing up against her as the same man she saw inappropriately touching another woman several weeks ago, also on muni. . >> i felt somebody banging against me as i was sitting down when i looked up and saw other people looking at me very

strangely. i had turned over and i saw the same man. >> it appears that the -- there's some type of groping or the suspect inappropriately touched the victim for some type of gratification, it's still unclear what the circumstances are. this investigation is being investigated as sexual battery. >> reporter: sfpd says they are actively searching muni lines trying to find this man and would like the public to be on the lookout for him as well. investigators believe there may be more victims out there because when one of the victims posted this on social media so many people started to come forward. live in duboce park, kate larson, nbc 7 news. an oakland restaurant owner believes he was the victim of a hate crime. the owner of the middle eastern restaurant on piedmont avenue believes he was targeted because

he wanted. the second happened on college avenue. that's where the suspect was standing in the bushes trying to look inside a bedroom window. the suspect described as in his 40s or 50s, six feet tall with short brown hair. a person is recovering after flipping their car during a police chase in oakland. this car overturned near fifth avenue and embarcadero. oakland police began chasing the car in east oakland then followed it on to northbound 880. the car flipped after exiting the freeway. the person inside was taken to the hospital. no word on what prompted officers to start chasing the car. developing news in san jose. an investigation into a crash that killed a pedestrian. the person was hit by a car on monterey road and rotor road. the driver crashed into a tree. the driver is cooperating in this investigation and this is san jose's 12th deadly crash this year. happening today, a teenager charged in connection with the beating death of an 88-year-old san jose woman is set to be in court. jennifer hernandez jiminez is

expected to enter a plea today. detectives believe the 19-year-old helped conceal this crime. flo douglas, affectionately known as miss flo, died in october after fighting for her life for several weeks. prosecutors charge zachary kouhen with her murder saying he broke into her east san jose home and beat her. miss flo was a pillar in her church and community. 5:08. a search for a missing 20-year-old that hasn't been seen since last alysha yeoman never showed up at her job in gridly last week. ab officials tracked her phone to a field in nearby yuba city but when they got there the phone was not found. the late last night her pickup truck was found 11 miles from where her cell phone was believed to be. the truck was not occupied.

new at the live desk, the death toll has gone up to 14 after yesterday's deadly bombing at a subway station in st. petersburg, russia. 49 people still hospitalized from the blast this morning. authorities have declared three days of mourning beginning today. the metro system reopened this morning but the station where the attack happened was shut down again after an anonymous phone threat came in warning of another attack. authorities have now identified the attacker as a kyrgyzstan man in his 20s. reggie, natasha, back to you. >> thanks, jessica. developing news now, at least six people have died after storms batter the south over the last two days. a man in his 60s was killed in his mobile home in south carolina after a possible tornado hit that home. it flipped it several times. in georgia, another possible tornado, look at that. it tore the roof off a fire situation that three firefighters inside.

the guadalupe river trail. a police lieutenant explained what happened. >> two victims were stabbed multiple times. the suspect is outstanding. at this time we believe that the victims will have some recovery but it will be non-life threatening. >> reporter: that's the key. two people injured but expected to survive. this is just around the corner from the children's discovery center, convention center and the s.a. p. center. officers collected evidence for several hours, they broke down the crime scene tape at 4:15 this morning, wrapping up a lot of this on scene investigation but obviously a lot more for them to do, including interviewing the victims. police were asked about a description on the suspect and right now they say they don't have a lot to go on. reporting live from san jose, matt keller, abc 7 news. >> 5:32 now. if you ride muni, take a close look at this next story.

san francisco police are searching for a man accused of sexually assaulting women and this is the supposed suspect. one woman posted about her experience on social media and since then several other women have come forward. she says he rubbed against her last thursday on the line and she saw him doing it to another woman. if you see him, please call san francisco police. an arraignment for a man charged with kidnapping and raping a napa teenager. police say timothy marble picked up a 13-year-old at a gas station friday shortly after she ran away from home. this just gets worse the more you know about it. she escaped the next day by jumping out of marble's truck on highway 1 near bodega bay. detectives say during that 50-mile ride marble smoked marijuana with the girl, raped her multiple times, injected her with meth and used a razor blade to carve his name in her skin. and then surprisingly marble called 911 after the teen jumped from his pickup.

once officers arrived she walked out where she was hiding from the bushes and police arrested marble. investigators are trying to figure out what caused a fire in height ashbury. firefighters had to call for a second alarm to keep the flames from spreading. a cat is missing. california a step closer to declaring itself a sanctuary state. a controversial bill made it through the state senate yesterday heading to the assembly. that bill bars local and state law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration agents except in the cases of serious and violent offenders. some gop lawmakers aren't happy with this. they wanted to include all felons. >> we will cooperate with our friends at the federal level serious and violent felons but we won't lift a finger or spend a single cent when we talk about separating children from their mothers. >> if you're convicted serving in our prison as a human trafficker, this bill shields

you from deportation. >> the bill was introduced as an urgency measure, meaning it would have gone into effect as soon as the governor signed it. that has been changed to allow democrats and republicans to both due their due diligence. happening today, the first design contracts are due for president trump's border wall. the associated press says the administration will pick up to 10 bidders to build prototypes on federal land in san diego near the border. the prototypes will cost up to $500,000 each. border patrol will establish a buffer zone around the construction site in the event of protests. some bidders are concerned about the safety of their workers. the push to confirm president trump's pick for the supreme court is turning into a showdown in the senate. a handful of democrats said they will support the president's pick of judge neil gorsuch but the majority are planning to fill bust they are nomination. . republicans say they will change senate rules to stop any filibuster attempt. >> there has never been a partisan filibuster of a supreme court nominee in history. i question what a seven-month

country's six-year civil war. they are claiming it was caused by an air strike carried out either by the syrian government or russian warplanes at this point no response from syrian or russian officials but i will keep tracking the story, reggie, natasha, back to you. firefighters are watching for flare-ups at this massive fire at a food processing plant in south l.a. the flames broke out around 8:00 last flight and took 100 firefighters to get that under control. you can see the flames tearing through the roof. it was fuelled by a broken natural gas line. arson investigators are expected to start combing through the rubble this morning. a man and dog are dead after a boat they were on capsized off the coast of marin county. brian ho, the dog and chin san were headed to tamales bay when a huge wave knocked their boat over. ho drowned while trying to save the bag. san tried to help but the waves were too strong. he says he was so exhausted and doesn't know how he was able to

study the issue. officials estimate there are 22,000 people who inject drugs in the city. seattle plans to open the country's first safe injection sites this year. drivers in california could be facing a big hike in the gas tax by the end of the week. democrats are rushing to put the bill up for a vote in the legislature by thursday. that's when lawmakers go on spring break. governor brown says the 12 cents a gallon hike will generate $52 billion over ten years and that money will go to road repairs. he made a pitch in a speech at the california museum last night. he admits republicans will not vote for the measure so it's up to democrats. >> god help us if we don't get enough democrats because i don't know this is going to come up again. it's not going to come up in the election year. i doubt if it's going to be the first thing the next governor is going to want to talk about. >> the bill would raise the price of diesel by 20 cents a gallon. the measure needs two-thirds approval in the state senate and assembly to pass.

stay in the u.s. alex tichelman served nearly two years in the stan cruz county jail. she was released last week and immediately taken into custody by immigration agents, she was born in canada. tichelman pleaded guilty in 2015 to involuntary manslaughter for the death of her client, forest hayes. police say she injected the married father of five with heroin and when he started to overdose on his yacht she stepped over his body and left him. mountain view police have arrested a man accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a minor and now they say there could be more victims officers arrested brandon yamagata on sunday. he's accused of exposing himself to a woman in a parking lot. police say yamagata admitted to an inappropriate relationship with a teenager. many oakland residents questioning whether the city is doing enough to protect people from unsafe buildings. this question comes after two deadly fires over the last four months. a council member blames oakland's catch me if you can

way of enforcing the fire code for the ghost ship fire in december, 36 lives lost and now the mead fire last week when four perished. mayor libby schaaf says she has a new plan. she wants to increase the number of fire inspectors from six to 12. she says they will modify the fee schedule to pay for them before the budget is finalized. >> the idea is to make these buildings safe before it comes to conditions that would require red tagging. >> the city intends to increase blue tagging which lets landlords fix the code violations without displacing residents. you might remember a controversial california law giving undocumented immigrants drivers licenses. there's a new study that seems to support that it is making our roads safer. this is coming out of stanford. the study tracked data since the law took effect. it finds hit and run crashes have gone down 7% in its first year. the law prevents officials from

reporting ab 60 drivers to immigration officials. the study authors say the this means drivers are less likely to flee the scene of the crash fearing deportation. your pg&e bill will be lower this month. we're talking about $17 and change. the state is giving users a semiannual california climate credit. that comes from a fee the state charges companies that produce greenhouse gases. that credit is not connected to your actual electricity use. marin county is unveiling its new solar powered vehicle charging station. it will serve as the county's fleet of electric vehicles. the station is portable. officials say it can be deployed at a moment's notice for people who need to power equipment in a remote location. look at this time lapse of the oakland a's game as the sun sets in the east bay. opening night looks to be a big hit. >> a's flags were flying, there were strawberries, there were grilled onions and hot dogs. food and fun were not the only reasons to show up, though. >> i'm all about family time. i love being with my family and

's start with thursday's storm. it's light showers across north bay and becoming breezy for all of us. increasing clouds, stray showers up in the north bay, a few stray light showers for the rest of us by 5:00 and a better chance towards 11:00. you can see yellows, that means moderate rain while we're sleeping thursday night into friday morning so our first commute really affected by the rain will be friday morning. we'll have thunder and lightning possible friday into saturday. sunday looks dry. we go back to the emeryville area and the macarthur maze specifically where there is reports of an accident. chp saying the 580 approach to eastbound 80, so that would be the in maze. this is emeryville with the headlights headed in the westbound direction towards the macarthur maze.

jonathan kulig says he was on his way to work when he saw a man fall on to the tracks. he jumped down to save him even though he knew the next train was seconds away. >> one thing i can completely say that aam pretty confident about is that if i didn't pick him up that train would have gotten him. >> that's almost certainly true because since the cell phone video -- look at that. it shows the train wizzing by about 60 seconds after he carried the man to the platform. the he says he did what he felt he had to do and that if this happened again he would do it in a heart beat. a landslide in san rafael means the new smart train testing has stopped but the agency says it won't delay the start of service. the landslide should be cleared this week. it's near the north end of the puerto suelo hill tunnel. it runs on lincoln avenue near highway 101. testing stopped between the marin civic center and downtown station. service will begin in the bring. we know dogs tend to love
