throughout most of the day, that's where we will be. as we head into the latter parts of the afternoon and evening hours, you can see showers developing offshore at 4:00 and marching across our neighborhoods as we head through the evening commute. now behind that, look at this ginormus area of yellow, oranges and reds, that's heavy to moderate rain, and that moves around 7:00 and hangs through 4:00 friday morning. so there could be ponding on the roadways. will be when you head out friday morning, but most of the commute will be pretty dry. and then another round develops around 4:00, and lasts through about 9:00. won't be as long as the storm system. thursday, not quite as windy or wet but still moderate on the storm impact scale. showers, light for saturday, and then sunday dry, and then monday and tuesday back to spring warmth. and then a two-car crash

about what led up to a napa police shooting and killing a man. >> it was a scary scene as police told neighbors to take cover in their homes. kate larson is in napa where we expect to get an update in just a little bit. >> reporter: there may have been an argument between the suspect and a neighbor when the shooting happened yesterday around 2:00, 2:30 in the afternoon, and they are investigating. let's look at video from the scene in this neighborhood. a quiet neighborhood. we were there earlier this morning and the shooting happened near bueno street and linda vista avenue. the suspect's car, silver, just riddled with bullet holes. multiple people called 911 saying somebody was open firing in the neighborhood and when they got there, they saw the

this is san jose's 13th fatal crash this year and i just talked to a san jose police officer and they said the road will open back up in about an hour. and then shut down last night because of a terrible deadly wrong-way crash in fremont just happened before 10:30 last night. and a second person was killed. no word on their condition. police in the east bay searching for the man they say shot and killed a mother in front of her two small children. devastating family members confirm the identity of the victim, 29-year-old franklin. police are searching for her estranged ex-boyfriend, this man, a 43-year-old mcbride from san pablo. he was captured on the surveillance video yesterday morning walking away and driving off moments after shooting her. she had been taking her young

this story just come into the live desk, a musician kicked off his flight because of his cello. this is john calfoff walking through the airport last night and he was told his prized instrument was not allowed on his american airlines flight to chicago and was considered a risk even though he paid a separate seat for it. he said the airline said it was dangerous because it would actually touch the floor and was not strapped into the seat, but then he was booked on the next american flight, same type of plane and he did get an apology. he wanted to travel with it because it was worth $100,000. >> i understand that. rescuers are working on a plan to free a whale trapped in
