a heartbreaking scene, young children escorted out of the california school after a gunman opened fire, killing a teacher and a student. tonight this community is coming together to help cope with the grief. good evening and thank you for joining us. i'm ama daetz. >> they say 53-year-old cedric anderson opened fire and killing his estranged wife. >> an eight-year-old student was also killed, second student was wounded. this happened in >> reporter: tonight, the san bernardino community coming together to pray for those impacted by the shooting at north park elementary school.

>> sometimes all we can do is cry. and today is the day for that. >> the emergency calls coming in just before 10:30 this morning. >> possible shooter at north park elementary. >> students hand in hand being rushed to safety as law enforcement officers surround the building. >> we believe we have the shooter down inside. >> authorities say 53-year-old cedric anderson checked in at the front desk to visit his wife karen smith. >> he said he was there to drop something off. >> he went into the class with a large caliber handgun, shooting and killing his wife and eight-year-old student who was standing behind her before turning the gun on himself. another student standing behind the teacher was shot and now in stable condition. >> i found that the both the students were behind the teacher

when he shot his wife. >> rushing to find their children, they're panicking. >> she doesn't see me, but i can see her. they're all crying and holding hands and they look very scared. >> many here still in disbelief. >> i'm a mom. i feel bad for the kids that have to go through all of this. the kids are the innocent ones. >> authorities tell us there were 15 first through fourth grade special needs in the classroom at the time of the shooting. abc news, los angeles. >> we'll have continuing coverage on this abc news app. you can follow us on facebook and twitter for updates as they happen. new at 11:00, sexual assault happened over the weekend. a female student was assaulted at the off campus party. they won't say which

hosted the party. ruben gonzalez is facing 47 felony charges related to sexual crimes involving children. he's now being hold on $46 million bail. abc 7 news katies katies katiesi the news. >> reporter: at this point none of the victims are connected with his work at the school district. prior to working as a janitor, he worked as a yard supervisor, that's someone who oversees recess and other activities at the school. police want you to take a look at this picture. child family services notified abuse allegations against gonzalez. >> based on the allegations, we along with them, went to the house. >> on march 30th. gonzalez ran from the home located. but officers caught and arrested him. the unified school district

terminated him the next day. >> all of our employees and volunteers now have to be -- have fingerprints both run through the state department of justice and federal view ewe. >> gonzalez passed a background check. he worked as a night custodian and prior to that at yard supervisor in richmond. >> we're sure he came into contact with students when he was a yard supervisor. >> the four victims allege, they were between the ages of 4 and 17. gonzalez faces 47 felony charges. based on the age of the victims and the number of assaults. investigators want the community to know about the case. >> we will, as a society, won't stand for that, if you do it, eventually you will be caught. if there are other victims out there, to come forward, you're not alone. >> he's being held on $46 million bail. abc 7 news.

>> they had to return fire, that's what fremont police are saying about officers involved in the deadly shooting of a man. police responded to a call last night for back up after a traffic stop. fremont officer spotted the suspect standing on a u haul truck. the officer's attorney say they first saw him raise his hands then he seemingly changed his mind. >> they saw this guy with his hands up like this, one officer very clearly saw an object in his hand, but what all three officers saw was a muzzle flash from the firearm. >> two other people have died this year in shootings involving fremont police. we've learned tonight that a sunken bar is rushing. the coast guard said the tube is safe and sheltered by a 25 foot protective layer of earth. this is video of the coast guard surveying the area. it came loose on friday because of strong winds. salvage plan is in the works.

tonight we have new details about the man involved and now people on social media are calling for a boycott of united airlines. [ screaming ] >> the man forcibly removed from the plane in chicago to make room for four off duty united crew members. >> they dragged him off. he hit his face. >> no one volunteered to leave so united's computer picked four passengers, including the 69-year-old man. he didn't stay off the plane for long. >> he comes running back in and runs to the back, his face is bloody and he clings on to the post in the back. >> the man said he was a doctor and had patients to see the next day. united airlines ceo called it an upsetting event. he did not apologize for the rough treatment but did apologize for having to reaccommodate these passengers. passengers were shocked. >> it was pretty scarey watching

looks normal enough. it housed an unlicensed massage parlor. the man charged with running it inside is accused of much more than that. >> reporter: jose garcia lives in east palo alto. he was operating an illegal massage business out of his converted garage. >> from what i understand, this is the common way of people to go and heal their ailments. kind of like the chiropractor or acupuncture. >> in march two women reported had sexually assaulted men. during that investigation they found a third woman had reported the same more than five years ago. neighbor harper said she knew about the home business and saw clients coming and going. >> they were hopping and taking them in. which the type of people that you would, you know, really would be going to see a chiropractor. >> she had no reason to think he was doing anything wrong. >> he was have a very nice person. he was really nice man when my husband passed, he came over and

hugged me and cried. he said i'm going to miss roy. >> she was also surprised to hear her neighbor had been arrested. >> he seemed so nice. >> he was booked on one count of felony sexual assault and one count of misdemeanor. police are concerned there could be other victims. they're asking anyone with information to call them. in east palo alto, abc 7 news. new at 11:00, at least two dog owners say their pets got ill after playing in a popular park. both dogs visiting the park inferno heights. leslie has more on the dog and what's now under investigation. >> come on. >> two-and-a-half year old magic is a world of energy and curiosity until she played in the park last thursday according to her owner linda. >> she just started laying around and not moving.

i was so scared my neighbor told me about his dog eating grass and foaming at the mouth and throwing up. >> magic and yogi's owner sent e-mails to supervisors who then contacted the san francisco park department. they checked maintenance records. >> there's no record of fertilizer application or any type of the application at the park. at this park for well over a year. we have recently planted grass, however, none of that should be impacting anyone. >> dogs do not like people when they come to the park. they put their nose right into the ground. my dog he eats grass. >> lots of dogs were still out playing here this evening, but owners felt uneasy and some confessed they've noticed their dog being off. >> the last couple of days he had not been feeling great, not

north bay, 8:00 a.m. they ease up a bit only to pick back up again for the afternoon commute. noon to 3:00 it's going to be in the north bay, for the rest of you it's cloud cover. by 5:00 p.m. you start to notice showers beginning to approach and redevelop pretty widespread continuing right on through. light showers expected with that system. another system following quickly, wednesday afternoon evening and into thursday, light to moderate rain. this time around a little more rain up to half an inch and the winds will be gustier. here is the hour by hour forecast, wednesday evening 6:00. the rains in the north bay, it is spreading by 9:00 p.m. it's narrow window of when you're going to see light to moderate rain. scattered showers will continue lingering into your thursday and then it winds down, giving you a break for the rest of the work week. into the weekend. rain fall totals over the next three days will look like this anywhere from 1,500 to half an inch. tomorrow morning temperatures

pg&e learned a tragic lesson we can never forget. this gas pipeline ruptured in san bruno. the explosion and fire killed eight people. pg&e was convicted of six felony charges including five violations of the u.s. pipeline safety act and obstructing an ntsb investigation. pg&e was fined, placed under an outside monitor, given five years of probation, and required to perform 10,000 hours of community service. we are deeply sorry. we failed our customers in san bruno. while an apology alone will never be enough, actions can make pg&e safer. and that's why we've replaced hundreds of miles of gas pipeline, adopted new leak detection technology
