waking up to the mountain lion snatching him right off the bed. >> a crazy story happening in the middle of the night. the dog apparently sensing the big cat nearby. the family lives in pescadero in a remote part of san mateo county. >> reporter: it happened around 3:00 this morning. the woman who used to own that dog said she could hear the attack happening just feet away from her and then she saw the mountain lion walking out of her bedroom. ♪ >> this is video of lenor. her owners say she was snatched off the foot of her bed by a mountain lion. >> lemore did her attack barking, very vicious attack sound she does when she's not liking something. then she instantly was silent.

>> reporter: vicki says her 15 pound dog was sleeping in this doggy bed. she and her daughter were also in bed when the mountain lion slipped into their room through the double doors. >> we had one open a few inches or so, i don't know, 6 or 8 inches wide just for fresh air. >> reporter: she said at first she thought the mountain lion was their bigger dog, leo. her daughter says she knew something was wrong because of their dog's bark. >> we knew it wasn't leo because it wasn't her normal bark. she plays with leo a lot and didn't sound normal. >> reporter: mountain lions are very familiar in these parts and usually keep their distance from homes. a couple years ago she said one did attack their horse and their worry is he will return. >> the game warden is actually tracking that mountain lion to see if they can eventually locate it. >> reporter: if authorities track the lion down they have a

few options of relocating it so it doesn't return. >> the search is on for a man accused of attacking and attempting to rape a jogger in the north bay. it happened on norrbom road and the overlook trail. a man knocked her down, punched her a couple times and tried to rape her. she fought him off. the suspect was described as a white man in his 50s with a white bushy beard. a driver was delivering bread when his vehicle jumped a sidewalk on bridgebridgeway, sl nearly 15 feet and landed on the beach. no one was hurt and the driver said his wheels locked on the wet surface as he braked for a turn. >> here's what it looked like at the santa cruz beach.

someone called the nonprofit white pony express after seeing the truck in san jose. the caller recognized the truck that looks just like this after seeing a story on the news. san jose police now recovered that truck. white pony express uses it to deliver surplus food from restaurants and grocery stores to deserving people. long-time senator dianne feinstein has been feeling a lot of pressure lately to be more accessible. a few hours ago the senator wrapped up a town hall meeting at the scottish rite center in sunset. kate was there and has mixed reaction. >> that's right. about 600 people showed up for the event today, some telling me this one town hall meeting is simply not enough. there were a few dozen protesters outside who said they want senator feinstein to push back harder and louder against the trump agenda and fight for things like single payer healthcare.

>> reporter: an agitator interrupting senator dianne feinstein at her san francisco town hall today was met with more shouting but likely not the kind she expected. the audience largely comprised of activists from the group indivisible were mostly eager to ask and listen. >> how many want me to continue and take your questions? >> reporter: today's event comes after a barrage of demands in recent months for senator feinstein to hold larger town hall style meetings. the time and location were met with frustration. >> monday at 11:00, how many people have time off on mondays at 11:00. >> i will commit to doing one on the weekend. >> reporter: weighing in on the senator's performance. >> i think she's a little rusty and hasn't been to a town hall in a long time. >> we got some answers. not enough.

and pleased to see the racial diversity at the school comparing to it the united nations. when he addressed a larger crowd he started out by praising nafta the trade agreement between the united states, mexico and canada. he has been seen as one of president trump's main challengers and like mr. trump has used twitter to voice concerns between the u.s. and mexico. he told this crowd mr. trump has done a number of things wrong such as not accepting refuges, trying to break a trade agreement, and trying to build a wall at the border. >> that wall, that f wall we are not going to pay for, we mexicans, that is going to force you u.s. citizens $35 billion. $35 billion u.s. dollars. with $35 billion u.s. dollars,

against and later dismissed for declining to participate. she's seeking damages and her job back. at a lumber supply store in san francisco now faces a $62,000 fine for safety violations following a deadly fork lyft accident. they issued six violations for good will roofing and building supply. one person died in november when a fork lyft tipped over crushing him. investigators waiting for the results of an autopsy to help understand what lead to a berkeley student's fall? he fell onto the sidewalk on college avenue early sunday morning. cal released a statement saying the campus community is deeply saddened by the student studying computer science. our thoughts and prayers go out to kimberly's family and friends

bear. he died on friday from congest stiff heart failure. flowers and messages have been left at the now empty exhibit. she called it home for 34 years the oldest polar bear in america and her remains will be studied and researched. if you're looking for a small dog now is the best time to bring one home. for the next two weeks, they're waiving all adoption fees for chihuahuas and chihuahua mixes and they will come spayed and neutered with microchip and vaccinations. it used to cost $120. now, they have too many but optimistic they can find good homes. >> they're good for a small space like an apartment flat. they can be very loving little animals.
