even gave her real address. abc 7 news reporter kate larson has the details. >> reporter: this man, 22-year-old benjamin gorky was arrested for child endangerment in petaluma where parents trusted him to watch their children at a boys and girls club after school program. >> lots of kids use that program. there are a lot of full-time working parents at our school and a lot of my son's friends are in that program. >> reporter: he allegedly took a photo on his cell phone of a 6-year-old girl and posted it to an internet chat room that homeland security happened to be monitoring. >> the chat room was involved child pornography and, so, they had started doing a preliminary found is that the image came from an address here in ron ert park. >> reporter: ron ert park police commander eric johnson said that's when their detectives got involved. gorky who neighbors confirm live in this ron ert park apartment

complex allegedly did this. >> logged in remotely to the boys and girls club system to get all of her personal information so her address and ways to contact her. he then subsequently posted that information into this chat room and then they used that platform in order to either share child pornography or to try and facilitate a meeting or arrange a meeting with victims. >> reporter: the boys and girls club run 17 different after school programs. he started working at the nonprofit in 2014 and was promoted this past january to site director. responsible for weekday programming for k through 8 students at cinnebar. ceo david jackson told me this about gorky. he was, quote, a trusted employee, well thought of and respected. he passed all background checks in 2014 and we still think he's a good person who allegedly did a bad thing. in petaluma, kate larson, abc 7

news. >> new at 4:00, a scare today for an east bay school as police search for a wanted man. sky 7 was above stone valley middle school in alamo as the school was placed under lockdown while officers searched for a suspect who led police on a chase. officers say the man was wanted for a burglary. you can see they used a canine unit as a search back yards for that man. they arrested him a mile away from the school. >> a driver died on 780 today. it happened at 11:00 this morning when a car flipped over. no other cars were involved and no one was in the nissan versa she was driving. the driver may have contacted the center divide and overcorrected skidding across the freeway and hitting an embankment before the car flipped over. the victim hasn't been identified. another driver died today on i-5 north of downtown los angeles. this fiery crash involved a big rig. a tanker truck and several smaller vehicles in the southbound lanes near the l.a. zoo.

it appears the cab of the tanker and another car were lodged beneath the smoldering 18 wheeler. the accident closed the freeway for hours. it is unclear what led to the accident. >> b.a.r.t. police are still searching for up to 15 teenagers accused of a terrifying take over robbery on a b.a.r.t. train. listen to what happened as the train operator called police. >> we had maybe 30 kids on my train beat up someone, rob them, and then run off the train. no one is requesting medical, mostly bumps and bruises. i have all the victims in the first car with me. there are nine of them. >> b.a.r.t. police are going through surveillance video hoping to identify the suspects involved. abc 7 news reporter vic lee has been following this story joining us live now with the very latest. vic? >> reporter: well, larry, b.a.r.t. -- excuse me, b.a.r.t. says it is going through those videotapes as they are working with b.a.r.t. police. the housing authority and the

school district to try to catch those young thieves. and in the meantime b.a.r.t. says to its riders that riding b.a.r.t. is a safe mode of transportation. it was a take-over similar to recent robberies where a swarm of thieves suddenly appear at a store and grab whatever they can, then disappear. it happened saturday night at the coliseum b.a.r.t. station. dozens of young people terror idolizing riders on a b.a.r.t. car, snatching bags and cell phones, even beating some passengers into submission, then vanishing into the night. today this meeting and the b.a.r.t. transit advisory committee, janet able son who is also mayor of el cerrito. >> it is a safe transportation. >> reporter: most of the crimes don't happen on trains. >> would i like to see more officers in stations? the answer would be yes, very

fast. because that's where i've seen things happen. >> reporter: b.a.r.t. police declined to comment, but former b.a.r.t. chief gary gee told abc 7 news, putting more cops on trains would be difficult. >> when you consider b.a.r.t. runs 50, 60 trains at any given time, to have a police officer on every train and every station it would be prohibitive to be able to do that. you're talking about 100 officers right there. >> reporter: out of a police force of just over 200, the big question was it planned or spontaneous. >> to what extent did they have someone on the train, on the platform before the mass -- the suspects converged on the platform and train. >> reporter: the immediate thing police need to do, gee says, is to catch those involved. >> post a reward to try to solve this crime and get some of the suspects in custody and that will send a message. >> reporter: vic lee, abc 7 news.

>> new video released today by san francisco police shows one of two men suspected of shooting another man for no apparent reason. happened back in november. take a look at the surveillance footage. captured images of both suspects inside a store on 6th street. investigators tell us the two men walked around the store for several minutes before one of them pulled out a gun and shot the victim. both suspects left the store. the victim is expected to survive. >> this was a record day on wall street. the dow climbed more than 200 points closing just shy of 20,100, it was the nasdaq that set the record, crossing the 6,000 point threshold for the very first time closing at 6025 with investors encouraged by the possibility of corporate tax cuts. >> turning now to our weather it's time to take a live look outside from our mount tamme cam. it is a chance you could have a damp morning commute. >> spencer christian here now with the forecast. >> that possibility does exist although it is dry now as you point out.

here is a look at live doppler 7. a few clouds around, it is mild. current temperature readings range from mid to upper 60s in the bay and inland. a couple places 60 degrees on the coast as well. gusts ranging from 20 to 25 miles per hour generally, and it is going to remain breezy going into the evening. so, here's your evening forecast. it will be breezy and mild up until sunset is around 7:55. after sunset, between 8:00 p.m. and midnight we won't see much of a drop in temperatures, two to three degrees. relatively mild. what may drop if the temperatures don't is a little bit of rain. you can see live doppler 7, we have light rain falling around eureka now. it is moving in our direction. this may be the reason for some damp spots for the morning commute. i'll give you a closer look as i track the rain a little bit later. larry? >> spencer, we'll see you in a few minutes. the oroville dam spillway is set to begin next month. two independent reports show cracks in the concrete allowed

fall on 272 trees in the city of lafayette as part of a pg&e gas line safety project. >> residents are upset that some of those trees will include red woods and old oak trees in lafayette. abc 7 news reporter leslie brinkley has more on this controversy. >> reporter: this huge twisted old oak tree along glenn side drive is one of the trees targeted for a removal. oak trees are protected as are redwoods. but they're on the pg&e hit list here. the city of lafayette is going along with pg&e's plan. >> the city's tree ordinance provides that certain trees are protected. but if they do present a hazard to life and property, then they can be removed. >> reporter: pg&e has identified 272 trees that could block first responders from accessing their underground gas pipeline in an emergency. >> really it's the same principle behind why you can't park your car in front of a fire hydrant. it's the same reason why you can't have trees directly over the top of a gas transmission

line. >> reporter: pg&e promises to plant 272 trees in alternate locations to replace those that are removed. so, this summer, 96 trees will be removed from the popular rim trail at lafayette reservoir. 122 trees are on private property. pg&e will offer them compensation. >> they can go and tell pg&e, i'm not going to sign this agreement. they are legally able to say that and pg&e cannot force them to remove these trees. >> reporter: some residents have lfrped a petition drive to save the trees from pg&e buzz saws. >> taking a one axe all strategy, that is eliminating trees you been addressing the problem of the aging pipelines. >> reporter: these posters are starting to go up around town this week. in lafayette, i'm leslie brinkley, abc 7 news. >> some san francisco residents sounded like they want a housing lottery just for being able to stay in in their own apartments. abc 7 news was in san francisco for the small sites lending program. it provides money for nonprofit

organizations to purchase properties and keep rents affordable. the san francisco community land trust bought this building on fulton street. it saved her from being evicted from her home 40 years ago. >> i think it's a miracle. i mean, i am extremely fortunate. this should happen to more people in the city. >> so far the city has partnered with different organizations to save 100 units. that's expected to go up to 240 units by next spring. >> wells fargo investors took the san francisco base back to task at their first shareholders meeting since the discovery that bank employees opened 2 million fraudulent accounts. >> abc 7 news anchor kristen sze is here with details on the controversial meeting. kristen. >> alma, larry, a bank shareholder meeting is usually boring stuff. not today. reuters tweeted this picture of ceo tim sloan outside the meeting in florida where he and the board were slammed by investors. they're angry over the fake accounts that employees opened

in customers' names without their permission to meet sales goals. the bank has since agreed to a $185 million settlement, fired 5,000 employees, and refunded $3 million to customers. but this morning a boston shareholder bruce marks was tossed out. wells fargo says for removing the board member he says for demanding that they explain themselves. >> they were a deer in the headlights. they were petrified to answer questions. they surrounded me with six armed securiy guards and the police and they dragged me out. >> massachusetts senator elizabeth warren tweeted this message urging shareholders to vote out every member of the wells fargo board who was around during this scam. in the end, all board members were reelected, though the margin was slim for several. interpreted as a message of dissatisfaction. wells fargo's chairman steven sanger issued this response. let me assure you that the board

this is how things are right now, dry as we look at live doppler 7 under partly cloudy skies. this is a view from our explore or y -- exploratorium camera of the bay. we may see spotty showers tomorrow morning. after that we start to clear out a little bit. we'll see bright sunny days beginning friday. it will warm up. we'll have summer like warmth over the weekend. right now, though, we are looking at nighttime conditions that will remain cloudy during the overnight hours. maybe a spot or two of drizzle developing up in the north bay and the coast. low temperatures will be generally in the low to mid 50s. and tomorrow's highs will probably not climb very high. forecast animation starting 4:00 tomorrow morning, notice by 7:00 a.m., right in the middle of the morning commute we'll see a few spotty showers, a ring around the bay there. up north maybe steadier rainfall at fort ross, clear lake. but this problem will not be much of a rain event for most of the bay area. going into the afternoon hours, once again, patches of spotty

drizzle. that's all we're going to have and tomorrow night it starts to clear out a little bit. add to all the highs as i mentioned earlier will be on the mild side. breezy at the coast. highs 60s in the bay. upper 60s in the inland area. as it clears out it will get quite breezy. here's our wind gust strategy. it will be gusty at the coast and get even gustier in inland bay area in the evening hours. into friday, even with the warm up we have coming our way it's going to be windy. in fact, the winds are going to assist that warm up. so, here is a look at our three day forecast. friday through sunday, sunny skies, high temperatures around 80 degrees inland friday, mid-'80s on saturday, low 80s on sunday. in fact, all the bay area is going to see a nice warm up at the end of the week. here's the accuweather seven-day forecast. so, again, a slight chance of some spotty showers tomorrow. mainly in the morning hours and mainly in the north bay. milder in the afternoon on thursday.

google has spent years developing self-driving vehicles and google plans to use 100 chrysler pacifica hybrid mini vans for the next phase of testing. users will ride in the vans for routine trips around town. google and fiat chrysler hope to get all the feedback from them about their experiences. >> when you're stuck in traffic, you might sometimes wish you could just fly over the slow down. today uber kicked off a conference on flying cars. you're looking at video from the event in dallas. hundreds of people are attending. they include car makers, tech suppliers, potential investors and even government regulators. experts believe small, personal aircraft can slash commute times and reduce congestion. uber doesn't plan to build any aircraft, but some day riders could hire them through the ride-hailing app. >> you'd rather fly yourself around. a south bay company is developing an option for that. this is the flying car prototype. kitty hawk says it will be available by the end of the year

drones may deliver online orders to your door. but in congested cities another technology is being tested using robots on the ground. two peninsula cities now have them. this is day one for san carlos. abc 7 news reporter david louie went along for the first delivery. >> reporter: twins logan and maximum well shin were captivated the moment they saw it. a tiny robot barely bigger than themselves is going to be a common sight in san carlos as it delivers cupcakes or other food ordered on the app. the pilot program requires a human handler to be nearby to answer questions and to intervene for safety reasons. but on its very first delivery today, taking cupcakes locked inside its storage compartment, the robot tooled down the sidewalk crossing driveways. it also waited at traffic before crossing the street. the robot is made by star ship technologies which has deployed them in 60 cities in 15 countries. its primary purpose is to make online ordering delivery eco friendly. >> as more and more people order more and more things online, it

simply means there are going to be more bikes, more cars, more vans on the road. and we're looking to reduce that and assist that problem using our zero emissions delivery. >> reporter: san carlos residents think it will help in other ways. >> you can't buy a parking space on laurel street. this will be a great thing, delivering food to people at home. >> reporter: the robot travels down the sidewalk at about 4 miles an hour, which doesn't seem very fast. but when it gets going, i'm having to sprint in order to keep up with it. redwood city was first in the area to test the robots and its success has the city thinking of new ways to use them. >> we do look to expand it to possibly other things, maybe working with our library or some of our retail businesses as well beyond the restaurant delivery. >> reporter: the robot doesn't hve a name yet. in san carlos, david louie, abc 7 news. >> robot is kind of cute and they have alarms if anyone tries to tamper with them. and the delivery hatch unlocks only when the customer taps a button in the app. thank you so much for joining us
