a busy street in both directions after gunfire broke out. this happened at around 9:15 last night between 14th and 15th near rosa parks lane. police tell us multiple shots were fired and a couple ever windows were broken. you can see the bullet holes in the glass. police are investigating what led up to the shooting. a toddler was killed after he ran into traffic outside of a store in union city. it happened yesterday in a safeway parking lot. the 23 month old boy ran out to the parking lot from his parents were shopping. the boy was hit by a slow moving car and ended up underneath the vehicle. the driver is cooperating with them about the trajectory. bart partials are trying to take a proactive approach in dealing with last week's mob style robbery take over. they have made an emergency staffing decision adding more

police officers at the coliseum. >> reporter: many bart police officers are working overtime as part of an emergency staffing call ordered after this. >> 30 kids board my train, beat up someone, robbed them and then runoff the train. >> reporter: the mob boarded the train and terrorized, robbed and beat passengers for what felt like an eternity. david, who did not want to be seen on camera, was on the train that night. >> they were just approaching everyone, dude. they were approaching everyone. if you had something, they were taking it. if you said something wrong, they were beating you up. it was just all bad. >> reporter: bart police arrived five minutes after the first call for help. they were busy on a separate suicide call. by the time they reached the coliseum station, the spuspects were gone. that's why the department's top brass is making changes by staffing up for now. >> most of our officers work four days a week, ten hour

in santa maytteo. chp tells us it is suspect was attempting a car jacking. >> reporter: friday's rush hour commute came to a standstill after chp responded to a call about a vehicle collision and a man with a gun on highway 101 in the peninsula. >> based on the statements that we have now, we know that this suspect was trying to use his firearm as a tool to steal the vehicle. >> reporter: sky 7 captured the suspect's gun lying on the side of the highway. witnesses shared cell phone video with us. this photo with officers raising their firearms toward the suspect. >> all three officers fired their weapons. >> reporter: police say witness accounts indicate those chp officers ordered the man to drop his gun. >> after many independent

witness statements that officers took extreme measures to issue commands to drop that firearm, to attempt to deescalate and negotiate with that suspect. >> investigators haven't said much about their confrontation or what prompted the suspect to point his gun at the officers. but once they shot him, officers say they tried to revive the suspect. the driver of the other vehicle was unharmed as were the three chp officers. san mateo police are conducting an independent investigation as well as the d a's office and california highway patrol. >> we are doing everything we can to backtrack the suspect's action of that day and days prior. >> reporter: they're hoping more witness accounts will provide a better understanding about this chaotic dangerous situation. frmg frmgts now to developing news in the south where at least seven

people in san francisco honored the live and legacy of one of the most influential civil rights leader. in the mission district for the caes caesar chavez fast val. he fought for the rights of some of america's poorest laborers. also celebrated many cultures ma make up the mission district. a group of tech workers used hardware to work on the brick and mortar project. about 200 microsoft employees helped upgrade the schools playground. >> every single project that's happen suggest going to be touched by the children so they're going to walk in on monday morning and their eyes are going to be wide and they're not going to know what to touch or what to play with and they'll have so many surprises here on the yard. they'll go in the classrooms and find on each desk there's also a

about 70 degrees. but will drop off a little bit tomorrow. then by wednesday with that offshore flow, that will be the warmest day of the week. temperatures will trail off as we go into the weekend. oakland a little more dramatic with highs in the 70s. average high 67. notice monday, tuesday, and wednesday we're flirting with 80 degrees here. then by the end of the week not only cooler, it's going to be breezy, so we'll look for those changes as we get towards thursday. giants game today in the afternoon with upper 60s. 7:00, it should be 70 degrees at 4:00 in the afternoon and highs ranging from the 60s. low 80s returning from concord. 82 in san jose. saw in 80s on the peninsula yesterday. just about the same today. you'll notice that breeze by about 3:00 in the afternoon out of the west. overnight lows in the mid 50s.

smoke and seeing the flames. firefighters could not save their home but they did keep the flames from spreading to nearby structures. 6 million gallons of wastewater have spilled into the creeks. this is video from february showing water going into the spillway. it was the first time it happened in ten years all because of the rain we got over the winter. the the sewage went into trib b -- tributaries. that the water seeped into storage ponds that store sewage, however the water was treated so the public is not at risk. bees are creating a buzz in parts of northern california with a big increase in bee swarms. this is the time of year when bees start the process again and the recent rains have kept them inside until now. >> this year the weather

cooler along the coast this morning. couple degrees cooler to you elsewhere. yesterday you were in the 60s due to all that wind and starting out in the 40s. golden gate bridge looks very calm. the wins will start gusting from point reyes down to half moon bay. still nice out. it still plenty of sun in the mid and upper 60s throughout the afternoon. warmer days through wednesday. that looks to be the warmest with 90s widespread inland. even warm weather in san francisco. temperatures will bottom out to near average, but it should be nice by the end of the week. that's thursday, friday, and saturday. so as we look at the profile, the temperatures through tomorrow, we're warming up another three to five degrees from today's reading. back to the 70s for the city. it will still be nice at the coast. 80s will arrive in richmond with upper 80s inland.
