identified seven victims ranging from 11 to 16. they're asking other victims to come we are hearing from the owner of a peninsula restaurant after one of his employees was caught spying on customers at jersey joe's in half moon bay. >> devastating is a word i've been using a lot. >> reporter: don is the owner of jersey joe's in half moon bay. pedro geronije jeronimogonzalezs busboy working for six months. >> we can't believe this could happen to our customers and that's the part that's -- that really hurts. >> reporter: san mateo county sheriff's deputies were called to jersey joe's 6:15 saturday night. a woman found a cell phone recording video in the lady's room. the sheriff's office determined it belonged to jeronimogonzalez

and it had been hidden there intentionally. two women and four children were recorded. they need to identify those victims. >> your privacy and your dignity is important to us but right now what we want to do is hold the suspect accountable for his actions. >> reporter: women who used the restroom saturday between 5:30 and 6:15 are asked to call the sheriff's office. customers fiona and tara davis were horrified to hear what happened. >> it's absolutely horrendous. the idea that your privacy is so invaded. >> the fact that they're children is just upsetting. >> reporter: but in this close-knit community where the owner himself lives, customers say they stand behind the owner. katie marzullo, nbc 7 news. here at the live desk, tracking an interesting story out of philadelphia. a store owner could be facing charges after shooting a 16-year-old teenager who was trashing his store. look at this new video.

the owner says the teen came into his store overnight with a friend trying to buy beer. the store owner refused to sell it to them, says the boys started vandalizing the store. the owner pulled out a gun and shot the teen. police say the boy was likely trying to defend himself and they say that because police say the bullet went through both of the kids' hands so maybe putting up his hands like that. the teen is in the hospital right now. the other one is still on the run this morning. natasha, back to you. >> jessica, thank you. this week congress is expected to vote on the trillion dollar budget. so what's included in that whopping figure? here are the details. first, the budget defies president trump. it does not fund the mexican border wall or eliminate money for sanctuary cities. it also doesn't cut funding to planned parenthood. in fact, it protects 99% of the epa's budget. also increases funding for the national institutes of health. the white house got a few wins. $15 billion extra for the military and $1.5 billion more for border protection.

the budget also includes funding for wildlife protection and flood relief in california. happening today, we'll be watching as united airlines ceo oscar munoz is scheduled to testify on capitol hill. this is coming nearly a month after that now infamous incident where a doctor got dragged off a flight. muniz will face questions about that incident and what can be done to improve the relationship between passengers and airlines. munoz says united is coming up with more changes to make traveling easier and provide better customer service. one of those is simplifying the way you file a claim for lost baggage. look at this mess in santa rosa. a car crashed into village pets and supply store on montgomery drive late last night. santa rosa fire department shared these photos. investigators didn't same what caused the crash but no animals or people were hurt. police have arrested two teenaged suspects in the mob robbery on a bart a couple weeks ago. one was arrested for a separate robbery friday afternoon and then police discovered he had a warrant out for the bart

released from jail two months ago. three bay area leaders are among the highest paid in california, the alameda county sheriff topped all sheriffs in 2016 with more than $633,000 in pay and benefits. san jose's police chief and city manage each raked in nearly a half million dollars in salary and benefits last year, topping their counterparts. our media partner the mercury news obtained the new compensation data from the nonprofit transparent california. in oakland, its top employee was a civil engineer who earned nearly half a million dollars pay and benefits. kenny lau's pay is $108 million in benefits however he made $319,000 in overtime -- nearly double the pay your's salary. the city told the chronicle lau worked weekends and development fees covered his compensation. hosts for airbnb and its rival home away will have to register in san francisco. this is part of a settlement reached between the short term

digital trail sierra lamar left on her laptop before leaving home from school on march 16, 2012. she was never seen again. the defense says without a body, the case is circumstantial. >> what the prosecution is going to say is when you look at this mountain of evidence that there's no other rational explanation than mr. garcia torres kidnapped and killed sierra lamar. there's no other way we can look at this which makes sense based on all of the evidence >> reporter: sierra lamar was 15 and the focus of an extensive volunteer search effort. the fate of her accused killer, garcia-torres, will be in the hands of seven women and five men. the trial is scheduled to resume at 8:30. reporting live from san jose, matt keller, abc 7 news. san francisco police are looking for the gunman who shot at a car and ended up killing a 15-year-old boy. this happened yesterday in the city's sunset district at sunset

boulevard and kirkham street yesterday. the boy and the passenger were in this car. the passenger was not hurt. investigators are looking for any possible suspects and surveillance video. people who live in the area told abc 7 the area where this happened is usually pretty quiet ebl except for the occasional car break in. investigators are trying to determine what caused this fire that burned through a homeless encampment in oakland. a viewer snapped photos of the damage. several tents and people's personal belongings were destroyed. no one was hurt. happening today, state assembly members are holding a hearing to discuss a recent audit at the university of california after the discovery of a very large secret fund. the state auditor found uc's president's office failed to disclose $175 million held in a special fund. lawmakers are callin for a reversal of a recent tuition hike now and more oversight over the system's finances. uber is planning to sue san francisco in a move it says will

protect its drivers. the "chronicle" reports uber filed initial court papers yesterday hoping to block a request to provide the names and addresses of all its drivers. uber says the city would post the driver's home addresses on a public web site. the city says it's trying to notify drivers that they are required to get business licenses. this morning, the white house is down playing a comment by president trump that he is open to meeting with north korea's kim jong-un. the president says he would be on or nod do it under the right circumstances. the comment marks the departure from the hardline stance the president has had against north korea in he cent weeks. the administration has raised the possibility of a preemptive strike if the north conduct another nuclear test. for the first time we're getting a look at cell phone video of the shooter behind the deadly birthday party attack in san diego. this video shows peter selis, the gunman, see him delight? he's on the lounge chair beneed

the umbrella at that pool party. it shows him reloading his gun and taking aim. police say he was distraught over a recent breakup and was on the phone with his ex so she could listen to the shootings. one woman who attended the party described what she saw. >> he did say "if you don't want to die, get out now." but he was still shooting people as they were running away and anyone who came back to help the wounded, he shot at them. >> how awful. a mother was killed, six others were injured before police shot and killed selis. the victims were black and latino, selis is white, police are saying they don't believe race played a factor. investigators are trying to understand why a university of texas student stabbed four other students. you see here 21-year-old kendrics white after he surrendered to police yesterday. police say white walked up to four students, attacked them with a hunting knife about a block from school. a 1-year-old freshman died.

three other victims are expected to recover. 5:35. an escaped inmate in the north bay is back in jail. deputies believe richard medina climbed over a fence yesterday. he was discovered missing but police tracked him to windsor, his hometown. medina is serving time for battery and assault and was scheduled to be released in september. happening today, a vote that could make it safer to ride bikes in one of san francisco's most crash-prone areas. this is part of the upper market street safety project. the sfmta will vote on improvements on market between octavia and castro. benicia will be voting on whether residents can keep mini pigs as pets. if the ordnance passes, the rules for owning a mini pig would be similar to owning a dog. they have to be leashed in public and owners have to pick up the waste. the pigs must be licensed and wear a dog tag and be neutered or spayed. the part of the ordnance that's causing a stink with local
