from the bay to our inland valleys. so get set for a warmer afternoon today. and even warmer as we start the workweek. i'll have the details coming up. thank you. now to developing news this morning. police looking for two suspects in an uber vehicle after the driver was abducted in san francisco. the driver tells abc7 news he was off duty in the city when a man and a woman jumped into his car and depended that he drive them around. he says the man had a gun and te woman had a knife. he drove to richmond and at some point was forced to stop at an atm to take money out. that's when he said he made his escape and went straight to richmond police. police are look forth suspects and the driver's car, a 2015 white toyota kamry with the license plate 7hqw692. 6:01 the time. happening now, ady visive presidential contest in france involving a right wing populist candidate as well as a hacking scandal all facing voters as

abc7 news. >> time now is 6:03. animals found to be neglected as the an oakland nature center found new homes in the bay area. yesterday we were at rabbit ears in el cerrito, one of the shops that took in animals rescued from the roteny nature center in oakland. reptiles, guinea pigs, three birds and a terror toys were sent to shelters and pet shops. the animals were found to be neglect and the in poor health. word quickly spread they needed some help. >> at some point they all came to me and said will you take if we can get these animals out, can you take some. we said of course, that's what we do. >> abbott ears took in two guinea pigs and a mouse. the rotary nature center has been shut down. now to a case of pimping and prostitution on the peninsula. investigators say the four you see here are accused of human trafficking in san bruno. investigators broke up the ring

phrase. >> play ball. >> reporter: the bench is nice. it's a nice thing to have. but what we really care about is having the crisis intervention training for the police, keeping other families from having to go through this kind of pain. >> reporter: this scene captures that painful memory minutes after police responded to a domestic dispute. police say showman refused to drop a cordless power drill. you can see her holding it here. a police officer thought it was an uzi sub mesh gun and shot her. >> she made a bad mistake that day but i don't believe she should have paid with her life. >> reporter: the family filed a lawsuit which was settled. part of the settlement includes the parents working with san jose police with crisis intervention training. it brings some comfort knowing they can prevent a similar tragedy. >> we can feel her presence and be where she loved to be. >> reporter: lonie rivera, abc

news. happening now, the coast guard is working to salvage a b.a.r.t. maintenance barge that sank last month in the bay. the barge sank during a storm april 7th and is now on its side atop the transbay tube. divers will hook cables to the barge, then a crane will lift it up right. b.a.r.t. set up vibration monitors but does not expect service to be affected. warriors head coach remains out indefinitely after having a spinal cord leak procedure on his neck. joe lay could be said he had his spine drained in hopes of alleviating issues that have sidelined him. he has not cope the warriors in their last five playoff games. lay could be says "we have to be in his court here and support whatever it takes for him to get back. hopefully we'll have him coaching on the court sooner rather than later." the warriors are just one game away from the advancing to the western conference finals after taking a 3-0 lead over the utah

for the 2004 murders? of 26-year-old jason allen and 22-year-old linsey cut shawl. the couple died from gunshots to their heads as they slept on beach in the county. >> he had information about the killings that no other person could have known and we have located evidence that corroborates his statement. >> reporter: one man inside this restaurant and bar described gallon as being off. a caretaker where gal once stayed said he was known to shoot animals with arrows. in 2009, he shot james mcneal in his convertible with an arrow, as well. >> knocked the baseball cap off of my head. he hit me with quite a bit of force. and really lucky not to be injured at aller? says he thought it was an accident still he saw someone running away. gal be time for the crime. till now, mcneal never quite understood why law enforcement reacted the way it did. >> cops were coming into town with thanks, sniper rifles,

rights and to cast a global spotlight on human suffering. >> swimmers from the u.s., mexico, israel, new zealand and south africa all took part in the more than six-mile swim. happening today, friends and family of a man who decided during a performance with the san francisco gay men's chorus will hold a memorial service. 39-year-old ryan nunez collapsed at herbst theater in late march. doctors were unable to revive him. the artis tick director says nunez was their voice in the world and took care of everyone. the chorus is asking who knew him to attend today's service at 1:00 this afternoon at the national aids audmemorial grove in san francisco. someone has defaced two murals in the mission district. abc7 news was at 19th and san carlos where a mural of a butterfly's wings is covered by black paint. mission local reports the mural on the side of the pg&e substation was defaced with the

tag khy. it could stand for the gra feep teept crew keeps hoods yursz against gentrification and racism. a mural of a bear on another pat of the building was defaced with the same letters last month. a popular east bay soccer league that gives low income kids a chance to play the game they love kicked off its season today. we were at the san lorenzo adult school for the start of the youth soccer league. program is operated by the alameda deputy sheriff's league to bring together young players, families and law enforcement for games free of charge. organizers say it's a way to do outreach in the community. >> the kids are spre appreciative. they come up to us, law enforcement officers and want to engage in soccer. >> volunteers and donations help organize the soccer matches. the players get uniforms, equipment and a place to play without having to worry about the financial costs associated with the sport.

not too cool this morning. we'll be looking at a quicker warmup. from the exploratorium camera, it will it be breezy today on the water. as a result the national weather service issued a high surf advisory. sunny and warmer today with temperatures warming today. tomorrow into tuesday and looking at cooler days on wednesday. significantal cooing. the winds kick up and not only through the second half of the workweek but right on through the weekend including mother's day where we look at breezy and cool temperatures. high surf advise from sonoma down to monterey. looking at very dangerous conditions. with the gusty winds that's generated a large and dangerous surf. so there's northwesterly swells on through 2:00 this afternoon. if you are headed to the beach, breezy with northwest winds anywhere from 20 to perhaps 30 miles at times. from the mid 50s to the low 60s, bodega bay, ocean beach, half moon bay and towards santa cruz and enjoy lower 70s.

pg&e learned a tragic lesson we can never forget. this gas pipeline ruptured in san bruno. the explosion and fire killed eight people. pg&e was convicted of six felony charges including five violations of the u.s. pipeline safety act and obstructing an ntsb investigation. pg&e was fined, placed under an outside monitor, given five years of probation, and required to perform 10,000 hours of community service. we are deeply sorry. we failed our customers in san bruno. while an apology alone will never be enough, actions can make pg&e safer. and that's why we've replaced hundreds of miles of gas pipeline, adopted new leak detection technology that is one-thousand times more sensitive, and built a state-of-the-art gas operations center.

mt. tam looks hazy. a lot of sun out there today. 51 in the city. san jose same deal. 575 in oakland with upper 40s from gilroy to half moon bay. another perspective from sfo where the winds have settled do you here, as well. temperatures climb through the upper 60s today for your afternoon high. average in san francisco is about 64. actually about 67. 71 on the peninsula. and we're looking at low to mid 50s right now from fairfield to novato. 52 in concord with 50 in santa rosa. emeryville more 70s today with the sunny and warmer day today. temperatures warm not only today but tomorrow into tuesday. and looking at the cooler days on wednesday, that's going to set the stage for not only the cooler second half of the workweek but into next weekend. if you have mother's day plans, a little breezy and on the cool side. high surf advisory till 2:00. current wave heights from 13 feet half moon bay.
