now from abc 7, live breaking news. >> bart capture is capturing on a rail. it's affecting service. if you're taking you may need to give yourself extra time. system wide delay due that did he rail meant and tiffany wilson is live in daly decide near the spot where two cars derailed this afternoon. what are we learning. >> well, right now you can see the derailed train right next to me. this is next to san diego street there were two cars and nine-car train that derailed.

yo can see the bart cruise on the tracks right now assessing damage, looking at the debris and looking at those two cars that jumped the rails. 24 people were on board the san francisco bound bart train as it left the daly city station just before 3:00. they told me they felt it shutter, shake, and grind to a stop. they say shortly after smoke started pouring out of the derailed cars. no one was hurt and they were directed to the front car of the train. that's where they waited together until emergency responders arrived. bart officials shut down oul all power to the tracks before escorting the bart passengers book to the daly city station that's about a quarter of a mile away. we spoke to a passenger who was on one of the train cars that left the tracks. >> i was in the car with the two ladies, i believe that's the one that went off of the track. it was jumping up and down like pretty hard, you know, and then it just snchlt makes noise ] and

then just stopped. >> this cell phone video is from passengers that were on board another bart train that stopped next to the derailed train. those passengers witnessed the people getting out of the bart cars and then walking down the tracks. now, bart initially shut down service in both directions between colonel ma and balboa occasions, however, they have just resumed service on a single track so they said expect major delays around the daly city stations. we have seen a couple of trains make their way back down these tracks, again, there are officials here. they are expected to be here for hours and we'll continue to update this breaking news as it develops. we'll have more for you live at 6:00. live in daly city, tiffany wilson, abc 7 news. >> thank you. more breaking news right now, an officer-involved shooting has left a man dead. pleasanton police say they resorted to deadly force after a man pointed a gun at officers. abc news report cornell bernard

is live at the police department with details. cornell. >> reporter: eric, pleasanton police just wrapped up a news briefing about the shooting which left a man dead. they say he approached officers today pointing a gun. now, three pleasanton police officers responded to a home on burgundy drive this morning after getting a 911 call about a family disturbance. a family police spokesperson says when their officers approached the home, the garage door went up and an armed man was standing inside. >> the male walked towards the officers hold a firearm and pointing it in their direction. in response, one of our officers fired his duty weapon hitting the subject. >> reporter: now, the man died at the scene. his name has not been released. the officers were not hurt. polce at this point cannot say if the man fired his weapon and it's unclear what kind of family disturbance was occurring at the

house. the alameda county d.a.'s office we are told will conduct an investigation into the shooting. we're live in pleasanton, abc 7 news. >> thanks. down power line trapped passengers on a muni bass in san francisco's castro dict district this morning. it fell across the 33 bus. the fire department issued a shelter and place order for the area. passengers were told to remain on the bus while the electric company was called in to deenergize the power line. they took about 40 minutes to secure the line. no injuries, reported and the the bug continued on its way. if you do come across a downed power line, the electric company says you should stay away and dial 911. on to the warm weather, it's feeling like summer out there today. we have an ocean beach in the distance, a popular spot on dade's like today. we have drew tuma tracking the warmth. >> we are just soaked in sunshine to start out the weekend on this someday.
