now from abc 7, breaking news. breaking information in i think land, public identified the suicide bomber as a 22-year-old, a second man in custody, and isis is claiming responsibility. thank you for joining us today. >> a vigil underway right now for the victims of yesterday's terrorist attack after the ariana grande concert. the number of victims staggering, 22 people confirmed dead. 59 people are injured. >> abc news reporter is in manchester with new details as the investigation ramps up. >> reporter: security is tight here in manchester with police keeping a close eye on public

spaces as authorities continue to hunt for anyone connected to last night's deadly blast. police in manchester believe the blast was the work of a suicide bomber. >> i can confirm the man suspected of carrying out last night's atrocity is 22-year-old solomon. >> reporter: officials say a 23-year-old man is in custody and they are raiding houses looking for anyone with links to the attacker. started as a joyous night for 20,000 fans, many younger than 10 years old, but it ended in terror. >> oh, my gosh. >> reporter: last night as arina wrapped up the concert, an explosion rocked the arena, the crowd, mostly teeps and parents, climbing over seats and railings december prate to get to safety. >> up the stairs, panicking, praying, seeing bodies on the

they escaped that arena. >> abc morning is here now with their stories. jessica? >> reporter: by all accounts, the manchester arena was packed, full of teens and pre-teens, mainly young people running for their lives when that bomb went off. they described getting out of the venue as chaotic, and say they couldn't sleep last night because of the trauma which is understandable. take a listen. >> i feel like i'm numb, i cried so much over the past 12 hours. it's just been horrendous. >> massive boom, and everyone as fast as we could, running away, screaming and crying, i just wanted out. >> i had my best friend of me, grabbed hold of her, never let go of me, jumping out of chairs and railings to get out of the doors. >> thank you to everyone who messaged us and asked if we're okay.

we're just so lucky we're alive. >> reporter: youngsters say it was very chaotic and confusing not knowing if they were safe until they made it back home or to the hotel rooms. jessica castro, abc 7 news. >> thank you. the bombing may cause us to see stepped up security here at home. abc 7 news this morning where travelers are feeling anxious after what happened. the department of homeland security says there's no credible threat in the u.s., however, there may be additional security as precaution. that would include transportation hubs, concert venues, and tourist attractions. >> it's scary because you never know, like, anywhere you go, it could happen. i just traveled out of the country last week, and it's just -- tattacks are terrorizin. it's scary. >> reporter: police will be on the lookout, but need all of us to be eyes and ears to suspicious activity. >> as you heard in the report from manchester, ariana took to

sun sunnyvale after 4:00 this morning. firefighters tried to go inside the building to find the fire, but too much smoke forced them outside and they ventilated the roof and put water on the flames with a ladder on the ground. firefighters knocked down the fire at 4:35 this morning. >> there's a bit of a -- the fire ripped in there pretty good. >> reporter: nine businesses condemned including a nail salon, pc care computer repair shop and a transportation service. the owners arrived to find a mess. >> a lot of smoke damage. >> reporter: this limousine service works with hotels and tech companies like intel and cisco. their vehicles were untouched by the flames, but the future is unknown for the business and their 25-plus employees. >> i mean, it's -- we're walking into a big mess, and we have no idea what we're going to do. we're still caught by surprise.

>> reporter: battalion chief believes the fire started somewhere around the computer repair shop. investigators are looking for a cause, but they do not believe it is suspicious. reporting live in sunnyvale, abc 7 news. >> thank you. new this morning, police invest gait a shooting inside a well-known east bay burger joint before 3:00 a.m. at sam's burgers on east 14th street. police say a suspect entered after the restaurant closed for the night demanding cash and after employees handed it over, he pointed a handgun at the employee and fired two rounds. the bullets hit the employee in the leg. the injuries are not life threatening. the suspect then escaped. san francisco police charged a man with making two bomb threats against the school where he works. 22-year-old pablo munoz of south san francisco is an assistant teacher. sfpd said he called in two bomb threats on two days, may 8 and

may 16. we were at the school shortly after the second threat was made last week. you see the students huddled in the front area after being evacuated. no one there got hurt. suspected truck thief faces charges after leading authorities on a pursuit spanning two counties this morning. officials say it started at the chp spotting the stolen truck and ended in oakland when the suspect lost control and crashed into a pole and shipping container near 2 the 99 average. the truck so damaged, crews cut the suspect out. no word on the condition. tonight, a beloved elementary school could be shut down. the ground beneath the school could fall apart in a big earthquake and the school could collapse. others dispute the findings. board members want to close the school june 8 after school is out for the year. many families fight the move claiming the evidence is not strong enough to justify moving their children to other schools.

dublin unified school district is considering a plan to build a new high school two blocks from the jail. enrollment is expected to increase by 5300 tunts in seven years. it was under 10,000 students two years ago. dublin is one high school that parents want the new school built somewhere else. >> stupid location. it's a joke, a bad dream. makes no sense. >> the sheriffs had not had an issue with release in 20 years. there's an elementary school a tenth mile away, no issues in 15 years. >> the meeting is tonight at 6:30. tomorrow, abc 7 news at 11:00, if you are caught up about something on bart, today is the chance to complain. another year in the nba finals. the t-shirts are ready and flying off the shelf. >> get that third consecutive championship shirt.

there's a a city hall to talk about services and cleanliness and share with riders how they plan to make up for lost revenue from declining ridership without affecting riders. bart's 2008er town hall starts at noon and lasts for an hour. use the #asksfbart. an icy reception on capitol hill this morning, they called the bill dead on arrival, the budget with $1 trillion cut to social programs, and others came out against the proposed cuts. all democrats are opposed. why am i looking at the bay? here's the reason. the president proposed zero epa funding for the bay, currently receives about $4.8 million. governor brown blasted the budget in a statement saying the proposal is based on aerially bonus economic assumptions. it gives a massive tack break to
