spaces as authorities continue to hunt for anyone connected to last night's deadly blast. police in manchester believe the blast was the work of a suicide bomber. >> i can confirm the man suspected of carrying out last night's atrocity is 22-year-old solomon. >> reporter: officials say a 23-year-old man is in custody and they are raiding houses looking for anyone with links to the attacker. started as a joyous night for 20,000 fans, many younger than 10 years old, but it ended in terror. >> oh, my gosh. >> reporter: last night as arina wrapped up the concert, an explosion rocked the arena, the crowd, mostly teeps and parents, climbing over seats and railings december prate to get to safety. >> up the stairs, panicking, praying, seeing bodies on the

floor, and outside and in the arena park. >> reporter: crews rushing to the scene to help the injured. officials say nearly two dozen dead and about 60 injuries. hundreds covered in blood and shrapnel. >> amount of injuries might be, such a terrible device in a crowded space. >> reporter: parents desperately searching for loved ones. >> i'm heart broken. i don't know where she is. i don't know if she's alive even yet. >> reporter: the prime minister visited the crime scene. >> it is an absolutely callous act that's taken place. >> reporter: tweeting, broken from the bottom of my heart, i am so, so sorry. i don't have words. we are just starting to learn the identification of some of victims. one of them, an 8-year-old little girl. abc news, manchester england. >> talk about the youngest witnesses to the attack, talking about how chi yachtic it was as

they escaped that arena. >> abc morning is here now with their stories. jessica? >> reporter: by all accounts, the manchester arena was packed, full of teens and pre-teens, mainly young people running for their lives when that bomb went off. they described getting out of the venue as chaotic, and say they couldn't sleep last night because of the trauma which is understandable. take a listen. >> i feel like i'm numb, i cried so much over the past 12 hours. it's just been horrendous. >> massive boom, and everyone as fast as we could, running away, screaming and crying, i just wanted out. >> i had my best friend of me, grabbed hold of her, never let go of me, jumping out of chairs and railings to get out of the doors. >> thank you to everyone who messaged us and asked if we're okay.

sun sunnyvale after 4:00 this morning. firefighters tried to go inside the building to find the fire, but too much smoke forced them outside and they ventilated the roof and put water on the flames with a ladder on the ground. firefighters knocked down the fire at 4:35 this morning. >> there's a bit of a -- the fire ripped in there pretty good. >> reporter: nine businesses condemned including a nail salon, pc care computer repair shop and a transportation service. the owners arrived to find a mess. >> a lot of smoke damage. >> reporter: this limousine service works with hotels and tech companies like intel and cisco. their vehicles were untouched by the flames, but the future is unknown for the business and their 25-plus employees. >> i mean, it's -- we're walking into a big mess, and we have no idea what we're going to do. we're still caught by surprise.

>> reporter: battalion chief believes the fire started somewhere around the computer repair shop. investigators are looking for a cause, but they do not believe it is suspicious. reporting live in sunnyvale, abc 7 news. >> thank you. new this morning, police invest gait a shooting inside a well-known east bay burger joint before 3:00 a.m. at sam's burgers on east 14th street. police say a suspect entered after the restaurant closed for the night demanding cash and after employees handed it over, he pointed a handgun at the employee and fired two rounds. the bullets hit the employee in the leg. the injuries are not life threatening. the suspect then escaped. san francisco police charged a man with making two bomb threats against the school where he works. 22-year-old pablo munoz of south san francisco is an assistant teacher. sfpd said he called in two bomb threats on two days, may 8 and

may 16. we were at the school shortly after the second threat was made last week. you see the students huddled in the front area after being evacuated. no one there got hurt. suspected truck thief faces charges after leading authorities on a pursuit spanning two counties this morning. officials say it started at the chp spotting the stolen truck and ended in oakland when the suspect lost control and crashed into a pole and shipping container near 2 the 99 average. the truck so damaged, crews cut the suspect out. no word on the condition. tonight, a beloved elementary school could be shut down. the ground beneath the school could fall apart in a big earthquake and the school could collapse. others dispute the findings. board members want to close the school june 8 after school is out for the year. many families fight the move claiming the evidence is not strong enough to justify moving their children to other schools.
