italy. mr. trump met with the prime minister before the session began on the sicilian coast. he says there is a world problem and it will be solved. the two-day summit follows mr. trump scolding some of america's nato allies for not paying their fair share. president trump will return home from his first overseas trip when the g-7 wraps up tomorrow. the president is getting unwanted attention for this moment. do you see this? watch. pushing aside the prime minister of montenegro for a photo op. later, the president bluntly criticized european leaders for the administration is pledging a supreme court showdown over president trump's travel ban after a federal appeals court ruled that the ban essentially targets the muslim religion. the president's executive order would ban people from six muslim-majority countries from entering the u.s. for 90 days

and ban all refugees for 120 days. the decision on the reverend viced ban is the first from a federal appeals court. an electrical transformer is being blamed for a fire in milpitas. the flames came dangerously close to a home and threatened goats. animals were trapped between a fence and the advancing brush fire. the fire blackened six acres. strong winds fanned the flames. the goats were sent to an animal hospital to treat burns. we're getting the first look we're getting the first look at a prison inmate who died in humboldt while fighting a fire when a tree uprooted and killed him. he was serving six years for a burglary. he's the fourth inmate to die on the fire lines since the program started in the 1940s.

longshoremen are back on the job after they walked out. there was a discovery of a noose on the property yesterday and this was the second one found at that port in two weeks. trucks sat idle for hours. the union rejects in the strongest possible terms racism in all forms. port officials say they have a zero tolerance for racism. our team just got video of one of the craziest police chases at the live desk. check it out here. jerry newman stole the truck on wednesday, led officers on a high-speed chase that took them into active runways at the tulsa international airport. he later drove the wrong way on a busy highway which is the moment that authorities backed off. he crashed a short time later

killing a man. police found the utility truck. they could not find newman for some time and then had to use his cell phone signal to eventually track him down. he is expected to appear in court today on numerous charges, including first-degree murder. the east bay's homeless crisis is getting worse. a new survey reveals the homeless population in alameda county grew by 2,000 people over the last two years. census volunteers did the survey in january. they counted 5600 sheltered and unsheltered homeless people, which is a 39% increase since 2015 when 4,000 home lless peope were counted. new pictures of the oroville dam shows a massive project. dam shows a massive project.

police say victor juarez mo molested the 11-year-old girl while a coach in that city. police are trying to figure out if there are other victims. a private funeral will be held for soundgarden singer chris cornell after investigators think that he committed suicide hours after he performed. he was one of the leading voices from seattle's grunge movement in the early 1990s. today's funeral takes place at a cemetery in hollywood. a former high-ranking official will challenge his own boss in next year's election. john hirokawa served as the sheriff's second in command to smith until he resigned last summer. the mercury news reports that he was in charge of santa clara county's jails when an inmate died in 2015. the jury is now deciding if three jail guards are convicted

check on that next. >> thanks, alexis. new developments in the san jose football player who got very hurt in a stabbing. >> we have surveillance video to show you of the suspects that police are trying to find. janine de la vega is live in san jose this morning. janine? >> reporter: jessica, it's been nearly a woke and police haven't been able to identify the suspects. they are hoping the new security footage will help bring in leads. take a good look at this surveillance video taken in downtown san jose near post and south first street. one of the suspects was wearing a white shirt, believed to be a latino man between 20 and 30 years old. his hair is shaved on the side and longer on the top. heavy set with a beard and ponytail. police say on monday morning, a fight broke out and one of the suspects pulled out a knife and the other stabbed san jose state football player chad miller.

miller is from vallejo and plays safety on the spartans. the junior was stabbed in the stomach and was listed in critical condition but we're hearing he's expected to make a full recovery. so if you recognize any of the men in that surveillance video, san jose police would like to hear from you and you can call in a tip anonymously. reporting live from san jose, janine de la vega, abc san francisco police are now looking at a car that belongs to a man investigators are calling a person of interest. the man you see on the left, bob tang, owns the car they are looking at and he's now missing too. the other man, piseth chhay disappeared after visiting tang on mother's day. police found tang's car parked at the san francisco international airport which is causing suspicion that he traveled to cambodia. abc7 spoke with a woman and she says she know what is is

the county school board. the montana republican charged with assaulting a reporter has won a special election. greg gianforte ran for the seat left empty by the new interior secretary. he got 51% of the vote. the race drew national attention after gianforte was accused of body slamming a reporter from "the guardian" on wednesday and this is the audio that went along with that confrontation. >> i'm sick and tired of you guys. the last time you came here you did the same thing. get the hell out of here. get the hell out of here. >> last night, gianforte apologized to reporter ben jacobs. nearly 70% of the votes in the race were cast early before the alleged assault. manchester police have arrested a ninth man in connection to monday's terror attack that killed 22 concert goers in the uk and we are now getting these new images of the suicide bomber salman abedi.

fire. new details, a former contract employee for fedex could face life in prison if he gets convicted for stealing from people along his route. he's pleaded not guilty t burglarying two homes. san mateo county prosecutors say baker is eligible for a life sentence because of california's three strikes law. oakland will pay out nearly $1 million to settle a claim involving several police officers caught in a sex scandal. the claim was filed by jasmine previously known as celeste. the 19-year-old former sex worker says she was exploited by the officers. four of them were charged with having sex with a minor and giving her confidential information. she says she had sex with two dozen officers from various departments. she also has claims in richmond and livermore. a new report finds the rate of deaths related to

that he was trying to beat the train that was traveling between bakersfield and oakland. two other trains were stuck because of the crash. opponents of california's bullet train are heading back to court. they refiled a lawsuit challenging a new law that allows high-speed rail money to be spent instead on the electrification of cal train. earlier this month, the san francisco judge threw out the efforts to block the $64 billion high-speed rail project. the new lawsuit challenges legislation signed by the governor last year. opponents say it unconstitutionally allows high-speed rail bonds to be spent on cal train violating promises made to voters in 2008. if you use one of the bay area's many state-owned bridges that have a toll, listen up. you could have money coming to you. the toll authority is sitting on nearly 1$1.5 million in refund s a result of uncashed checks and overpayments of fines. if you don't claim your share by
