pilot was going to be okay. >> reporter: the small plane had just taken off from buchanan air field airport when the prielt reported a rough running engine. he turned around and lost altitude t. plane flew over highway 4, clipped the fence and skidded across four lanes on marsh drive before hitting a light pole hazmat crews cleaned up spilled fuel and wreckage from the plane that was scattered across the intersection. >> a piece of the airplane did hit a car over there, smashed out a window out of it. >> reporter: the pilot was taken to a nearby hospital, then crews spent several hours de fuelling the plane. >> the crews did a great job, had engine problems, nobody on the ground was injured. >> reporter: crews said the smashed single engine now faa and ntsb investigators will examine it to figure out what caused it to crash. in concord, lonnie rivera, abc 7

criminal charges against six players. 11 others remain under investigation. a surprise to players and parents. >> everybody knows something happened. >> reporter: he says hazing should vice president consequence. it puts the whole football program under suspicion. >> this is not a ritual by all the students. this was individuals that acted and they did basically destroyed the football program. >> reporter: the da did not file any charges against coaches. since the hazing scandal broke last fall the entire coaching staff has resigned in protest. a few coach was recently hired, here's what school officials said about the charges. as the da's process moves forward, we will concentrate on healing, support for all students and ensuring a safe learning and athletic environment. the district expelled nine students for hazing, four of them remain out of school. >> i feel for the whole

police are investigating after two good samaritans who intervened to stop a man yelling racial slurs at muslim women were stabbed to death. it happened on light rail train yesterday. a third person was also stabbed but is expected to survive. police say the attacker disappeared into a neighborhood but he was later arrested. fans and family members paid tribute to rockstar chris kornell in two ceremonies yesterday. our sister station in los angeles was there. >> reporter: fans of chris kornell were invited to pay their respects at his grave site here at hollywood forever cemetery. at that service, members from lincoln park played. he is one of the pioneers of a singer for temple of the doc, audio slave and most famously

york office after foreign hackers tried to hack the company's computers. it comes as the president's son-in-law, also his adviser is under fbi scrutiny for his contact with russians. here's abc news reporter pierre thomas with the latest from washington. >> reporter: lou enfarcement sources tell nbc news, president trump's sons were summoned to an emergency session at the fbi's field office earlier this month. the reason, foreign hackers were trying to compromise trump organization computers. because it involved the president's children, a special vip notice was sent to senior officials in new york before the may 8th meeting, which happened to occur a day before fbi director james comey was fired t. source of the attempted hack on the trump's computers was unknown. but eric trump denied any computers were compromised. still the company remains a top cyber target. >> hackers would love to get into the president's family business to try to get information that might be valuable. they could sell it or use it to

damage or compromise the president in some way. >> reporter: news of the trump's sons meeting with the fbi comes as trump's son-in-law jared kushner is under scrutiny for connections with russians. one between the russian ambassador, which included former national security adviser michael flynn, who was fired about his russian contacts and a second meeting between kushner and the head of a russian bank with ties to the kremlin. >> that bank under u.s. sanks sanctions. washington post officials intercepted communications of the russian ambassador claiming kushner wanted to use secure russian facilities to communicate during the transition. abc news has independently connirmd this report. >> jared kushner is the kind of person that anyone conducting an investigation right now would want to talk to. >> reporter: there is no evidence that kushner is the target of the fbi investigation russian meddling into the election and no evidence by

a teenager killed in a car crash shortly after dancing at her local program. the high school senior was a passenger in a car driven by her mother maria. they were less than two blocks from home when another car hit them as they were making a left turn. the 18-year-old died at the scene. her mother is recovering from major injuries. services for shane are said for noon today at st. anne's church. lake tahoe officials are fighting back against those who would desecrate the people landscape. it's a war against graffiti that's increasingly popping up in places known for natural beauty. abc 7 news reporter laura anthony has the story from lake tahoe. >> reporter: a team of volunteers brushes in hand have spent many hours doing this, scrubbing rocks in lake tahoe, jaurl scenery that's been de faced by vand also. >> it really upsets the
