today, 70s san jose, upper 70s in santa rosa. we'll talk particulars the rest of the weekend and the week ahead in a couple minutes. chris. >> lisa, thank you. there the a water warning this morning in south san francisco after a mysterious breach at a water tank. you can see on this map, where people are being told to avoid drinking tap water. it's happening in the city's sunshine gardens neighborhood. abc 7 news reporter ryan rivera has the story. >> reporter: imagine pulling into this water bottle pickup station off chestnut avenue in south san francisco. it's not exactly the friday they planned, but these families need drinking water. >> i am taking two, taking two for now. >> reporter: residents learned by e-mail about a breach at the smaller water tank on this hillside in sunshine gardens. >> i am afraid now to think how did they, were they able to get into the water. >> reporter: water officials say

vandals broke a lock around the tank and sprayed zbra fity. >> it was a jm. a big jm. we don't know what that means t. police department are investigating right now. >> reporter: preliminary water quality testing doesn't show contamination. as a precaution, water officials flushed out thousands of gallons of water from the tank. cal water is also asking customers not to drink the water for now. >> i am hoping to hear it's okay. but now i'm kind of leery. if i have to come back tomorrow to get another case, we get another case. we have gone without water before. i think we can manage this. >> reporter: they will update the situation once final results are back saturday afternoon. 8:02 is our time. five bay area restaurants may have served ahi tuna containing hepatitis a. hawaii-based helo company,

has the details. >> we were under the assumption this was a random act of violence. we believe this was premeditated. >> reporter: union city place say san jose basketball player terrell brown was a part of a group that beat up a man. their victims, and an exgirlfriends lured him and attacked him and stole his belt and wallet. they were arrested after using thinks credit card at and in and out burger. >> they were arrested, he iechded them. we think the girlfriend set there all in motion. so we arrested her for the same crimes. >> reporter: this is youtube video of his san rafael basketball game t. university leased a statement that reads, terrell brown, who completed his freshman year at san jose state university as a member of the men's basketball team, was dismissed from the team today for violating team rules. the news was just starting to reach students on summer break. he definitely had a lot of

discipline. i'd say it's shocking. >> reporter:. >> he says he has san jose's name attached to him, everything he does. i just hope that the basketball team can move forward with this situation. >> reporter: brown and four others are charged with robbery and conspiracy. >> two men had been detained but not charged in the killing of an australian tourist who was visiting san francisco. police say 33-year-old matthew bates got into an argument early yesterday morning. >> that led to a fight. but police do not believe there were weapons involved. they later died at the hospital. when police arrived, they locked down the hotel, not leding people leave. >> police were like, why do you want to go out? so because they think serve a kind of like a suspect i think. >> police detained the suspects

a short time later. berkeley police are asking for your help to solve a cold leather bloom hasn't been seen from 2005. >> reporter: heather lom is a dependent adult. last seen in 2005, living at this apartment complex in berkeley. police say heather and her mother visited from brooklyn but heather stayed with her sister sheila bloom when the mom returned to new york. >> it must be heightening her symptom. >> here's a skep of what heather might look like her mom reported her missing. and she has down's syndrome. >> we hope she is being cared for at a medical facility. we hope someone comes forward. >> reporter: sherry bloom moved in 2007. i spoke with the landlord of the building, he says he never saw

heathe heather, he says she owed anywhere from 14 to 14,000 in missed rent. we tracked her down have been undefl successful. anyone that may recognize heather is asked to call police. this morning, people are being warned to stay away from around unstable building in downtown berkeley. abc 7 news was across the street from berkeley high school. the building is being restored as a part of a housing project. yesterday a worker bumped it off its temporary supports. it looks like there will be no summer of love concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic year.

the san francisco recreation and parts department denied a promoter to throw a celebration for a second time this week, he received a denial letter saying it was larger than previously discussed. he didn't have an infrastructure planned and this hand drawn map of the area was not up to standards. meteorologist lisa argen joins us now. lisa, you have been tracking the fog. >> add a little mist and drizzle as well, certainly grey, the view from mount tam. can you see all the layers of clouds, it's in the 50s up in the north bay. we do have that drizzle around the areas, where you have a lot of that growth and some of the forests there. so temperatures will be crimeing as we break out in sunshine mid-morning. i will time that out for you coming up. >> lisa, thank you, also ahead, the deadly ghost ship fire in oakland. he companions the possible

investigating a possible hate crime after a pride flag was burned in front of the mayor's home. for years it flew outside her home, she found it thursday morning burnt to pieces. science promoting unity and inclusion were also cut up in front of her home. mayor harmon is spending a strong message saying love is greater than hate and fear. it's been nearly six months since the devastating fire at the ghost ship collected in oakland. yesterdays was the last day for those that lost loved ones in the fire. i-team reporter dan miller looks at the possible criminal and civil charges. >> i found a restoration crew hired by insurers at the ghost ship this week. they say they can't what it to take the building down, it would be best for everyone. the civil cases must play out. robert weissberg is head of the

criminal center in stanford. >> so many people and the district attorney has to make decisions of how many people to charge. >> you say it's not a question of if charges are coming but how many people will be charged? >> that's my supposition. >> reporter: he believes charges are certain because of the conditions at the ghost ship that led to the fire t. haphazard electrical wiring that sparked t.rvs parked inside the building t. artwork and collected junk. the rickety staircase made out of wooden pellets and may have been possible. he believes many complaints were made the to the building's owners and the man who leased the warehouse about the dangers there. >> the manslaughter charges and probably manslaughter convictions seem extremely likely here. this is as egregious a case as homicide liability for a fire. >> the alameda county district attorney's office would not give me a date for charging in the case. they say they have a team of

multiple attorneys, advocates, all dedicated to this matter and are conducting a thorough criminal investigation. the owner declined to comment, where now the defense attorney are working for the man who leased the building. they released this report from an unnamed electrical expert claiming the fire started in the building next door. said the reasonable doubt here is overwhelming. >> that should close all criminal charges and the atf rlt could not conclude where the fire originated. >> the fire absolutely did not start in the bidding next store. >> on the civil side, mary alexander is the lead plaintiff's attorney, she's filed this complaint, naming the building's owner, the man that ran ghost ship, pg & e and many others. he is working with lawyers for other victims. i reached derek almena and his wife several years ago through facebook. they would not comment directly

larry and mike will be live tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. >> now your accu-welts forecast with lisa argen. >> you can already probably tell today will be cooler than yesterday. we made it to the 90s at the cochran airport. we have extreme high clouds and low clouds, sitting over the bay area. we are moving to the south of us. we are looking at sunshine, that will be making its way westward. a live look outside from our east bay hills camera, you can see the low cloud deck. it's 53 in san francisco, all morning long, 57 in oak, it's 58 mountain view and san jose. we even have mist and drizzle reported out there from the golden gate bridge, late grey sky and the winds picking up a bit. it will be breezy, in fact, the winds will be quite gusty later on today after 30 miles an hour at the shore line, 54 in san francisco. so a couple degrees warmer than we were yesterday and check out all the clouds here, very pretty

picture. we'll continue to see these clouds scatter at 10:00/11:00. for everyone, it is a cloudy start this morning. we will see cooler weather this week, anywhere from 5 to 8 degrees cooler, tomorrow the coolest day, monday, that will take us into tuesday. so the hour by hour forecast, we got sunshine in our east bay, within the next hour-and-a-half or so then it continues to slowly work towards the coast. it will probably take until 1234506789 we see the sun around pacifica. but it will be on the cool side, upper 60s to low 50s. if you are thinking of going to the beach, take the shades and temperatures are in the low 60s around ocean beach. you get down to santa cruz, 73 will feel nice. still five degrees cooler than yesterday. check out napa, upper highs should be advertised in the upper 70s. that's where we will be today and tomorrow. then we warm up to temperatures in the '80s monday and tuesday.

sunday and a warmer start to the workweek coming up. on capitol hill, james comey is expected to testify on thursday, about his conversations with president trump. >> that is unless the president evokes executive privilege to stop him from testifying in public. the white house is not ruling that out. here's abc senior justice correspondent pierre thomas. >> reporter: james comey prepares to testify, the white house would not say whether president trump might try to stop it. when asked if he would insert executive privilege, he acknowledges, no decision has been made and they're not ruling out the idea of blocking comey. >> i think, obviously, it's got to be reviewed. >> it's not a no? >> i'm saying it didn't, literally, my understanding is the date for that hearing is just that. i have not bone is to counsel yet. i don't know what they're, how they're going to respond. >> the counsellor to the president, kellyanne conway said

it's up to the president. >> the president will make that decision. >> comey is expected to testify before the senate intelligence committee, where he will be asked for a pledge of loyalty from president trump and whether the president asked to him go easy on michael flynn, who lasted 24 days on the job. and congress is expected to ask comey about what could be the most revealing piece of evidence yet. those memos comey privately kept after his meetings with the president. it came after the president after the president joked with him, you are becoming more famous than me. later calling him a nut job. some legal scholars say, if he tries to stop him from testifying, it could be a tricky move. it could be a challenge, especially since president trump has already spoken publicly himself about his private meetings with comey. comey better hope there are no tapes of our conversations wafer he starts leaking to the press

abc 7 news at 11:00. for the second day in a row, high school students in the east bay found offensive graffiti on their campus. it happened days before the summer break. abc news reporter laura anthony has more. >> reporter: we won't show the entire message, but these pictures taken by students show the second incident of racist graffiti at castro valley high school in two days. in this case, controlled on a bathroom mirror. >> i was disgusted. like it was hard to be walking down the hall and see a hate towards me. >> reporter: on thursday, she was the first to see the same phrase written on a locker and across some poles. >> they said f -- >> reporter: classmate will was walking with her. >> we were walking down the hall, she noticed that there was lettering on the poles by the snack bar.
