now at 11:00, a 2-year-old boy force fed meth. police say he was targeted by this woman, with a long criminal history. good evening. thank you for joining us. >> tonight, that child is recovering at a hospital. the 36-year-old woman was arrested. >> lisa is live in berkeley tonight with our developing story. lisa? >> reporter: uc berkeley police caught the suspect pretty quickly. and they say she told them that she gave the little boy meth. >> she just walked up to him and grabbed him. >> reporter: and then what? >> then she stuck her hands in his mouth. >> reporter: jamison doesn't want to show his face, but he knew what happened yesterday when police got this call. >> report of a subject shoving something into the child's mouth. subject is a black female, 30 to 40-year-old old.

>> reporter: police say she put meth into a little boy's mouth. the boy's nanny called for help. >> she's not a very good person. she steals everybody's stuff, runs around talking to herself. >> reporter: people's park regulars know thomas, who they say lives alone. police also know the 36-year-old, who has been busted fortress passing, indecent exposure and probation violation. those who pass by people's park daily are horrified. >> it's really sad, that's what it is. you know, very sad. a lot of stuff that probably happens here in the park. >> i was telling my friend about it. it was very shocking that that would happen. especially a child would be targeted. >> reporter: the boy was rushed to the medical center where doctors found meth in his system. thomas is charged with attempted murder. and will likely be arraigned tomorrow.

we have breaking news tonight. an officer has been injured during a shootout in los angeles. lapd reports the officer was responding to reports of a shooting in the wilmington neighborhood. a shootout broke out. one suspect is dead, another in custody. the officer is in stable condition. developing tonight, santa rosa police are asking for help to find a missing teen. 17-year-old gabriella graduated from high school on friday and went out looking for a job yesterday morning and hasn't been seen since. she dropped off some job applications and used a computer at the library. new details about a child abandoned in san francisco. witnesses saw a woman push her 5-year-old daughter out of the car near the san francisco zoo. the child's father left on a skateboard moments before. the police have found the parents. police contacted the father did, which led them to the mother.

we're staying on top of new developments in a story we first brought you at 5:00. a bay area uber driver arrested after a passenger said she was sexually assaulted. only "abc7 news" caught up with that driver tonight outside his home. cornell bernard is live with the story. cornell? >> reporter: more on that exchange with the suspect in just a moment. police say the attack happened not far from this intersection. the victim was traumatized but not physically hurt. police say this is the route 42-year-old uber driver becker traveled as he drove a female passenger from oakland on may 26th. >> the uber driver stopped short of the destination, got out of the car, got into the back seat with her, and sexually battered her. >> reporter: the police chief

john king says the woman acted fast and distracted her attacker. >> we're very fortunate that she had the presence of mind to interrupt the attack that was going on and able to get it to stop. >> reporter: the woman demanded becker drive to her final destination. these cameras captured the car and license plate, which aided in his arrest. uber tells "abc7 news" what the rider reported is deeply troubling. this driver has been removed from uber. the company reports no prior complaints from riders about becker. we found him leaving his home in san francisco after bailing out of jail. can you tell us about the arrest? >> i cannot talk, sir. i have to go. >> reporter: he drove off. >> i am surprised, yeah. >> reporter: the apartment manager surprised about his tenant's arrest. >> i didn't know he was an uber driver. >> reporter: police are asking the public for any information

about the case. cornell bernard, "abc7 news." today, uber fired 20 employees, including senior executives, after an investigation into company culture. the employees had been involved in harassment, discrimination and other inappropriate behavior. they were let go over the last few months. investigators looked into over 200 complaints. 57 complaints are still under review. one analyst said it's the kind of change employees are looking for. >> we're worried this company has a bad reputation and want to make it better. that's what i heard from people within the company. former attorney general eric holder is overseeing a second investigation. tonight, the founder of the ghost ship is in jail here in the bay area and his former second in command, max harris, is expected to join him. both are facing 36 counts of

involuntary slaughter in the ship fire. he arrived at santa rita jail last night. the county district attorney says two men were intentionally deceptive about what was going on inside the ghost ship before the fire. new at 11:00, it's election night. voters in santa rosa have turned count rent control protections. 52% were for no. 47% were for yes. measure c would have capped rent increases by 3% for each year for any unit built before 1995. british police say a san francisco 49ers duffel bag contained significant evidence in the manchester arena bombing. today, police tweeted images of the gym bag found inside a white nissan last thursday. you can see the 49ers logo on it. the bomber made repeated trips to and from the car in the to t

killed 22 people. in less than two days, james comey will testify before the senate intelligence committee. >> and sources tell abc news the former director will stop short of accusing president trump of obstructing justice. >> reporter: all eyes will be on capitol hill thursday, marking the first comments from james comey since he was fired last month by president trump. in his letter firing comey, trump writing, i greatly appreciate you informing me on three separate occasions that i am not under investigation. it's the claim the president has repeated. >> i said, if it's possible, will you let me know, am i under investigation? he said you are not under investigation. >> reporter: abc news learning comey is expected to directly refute that claim. that conversation and others between comey and trump will take center stage at the senate intelligence hearing. and whether the former director

degrees and drop down to about 62. so if you are going to the game, if you're outside of oracle arena, it's going to be quite comfortable. i want to show you a beautiful time lapse of what you can expect tomorrow morning. as you take a look here, you do have the fog, as the sun was setting, a nice burst of color. this is from our tower cam, watching that fog rolling in. and we are seeing the fog as we check out live doppler 7 right now along the coastline. also seeing some of those high clouds overhead. and those clouds will be increasing as we head towards tomorrow. temperatures right now, really comfortable, most of you in the 50s right around the bay and the coastline. here's a view of what you can expect tomorrow morning from our south beach camera. this is a little murky, so yes, we have fog around. clouds increasing tomorrow. showers arrive thursday. a much cooler path friday and saturday. tomorrow morning, allow that extra time, because fog may slow you down.

temperatures upper forts to mid 50s. tomorrow afternoon, the cooling continues. upper 70s to low 80s, mild, heavier cloud kov tore tcover t north, very filtered sunshine. 50s, 60s near the coastline. here's a look at the a's forecast against the blue jays. mild and 65 degrees at 12:35. by 3:30, 69 degrees. you'll need the sun screen, that's for sure. thursday, we have a light system, a one on the storm impact scale. it will be scattered light showers, up to .35 of an inch in the north bay. here's your hour by hour timeline. thursday morning, the rain line is up in mendicino county at 5:00 a.m. 7:00 a.m. into the santa rosa area. by 9:00 a.m., covering most of the north bay. light to moderate showers expected.
