tapering quite rapidly in the afternoon. we knew they would be here eventually, starting to get a few incidents popping up as the volumes increase. one problem on 880 in the fremont area, we have a multi-car crash. no details other than that although we believe it's a blocking situation and you can see the red starting to form and they are calling for an ambulance to the scene and so it sounds like we have one person with injuries. and a quick look outside, golden gate bridge, a few drops on our traffic camera lens there, too. no significant delays if you are coming across san francisco this morning. two problems in the north bay, we will talk about that in less than ten. the eyes of the nation will be on capitol hill in an hour from now for one of the most anticipated congress hearings in years. >> former fbi director, james comey, here's a live look inside the room where the senate intelligence committee will get to the bottom between the

update. >> from "abc7 mornings." >> just into the live desk, we just saw former fbi director james comey leave his home in virginia, and look at this, we will play the video for you from moments ago. he's now on his way to the hearing in d.c., and we walked from the garage and jumped into the white suv, and we should see him arrive just in time for the 7:00 a.m. hearing, much anticipated. here's a look at alameda. and this will be gone by 6:00, and oakland piedmont heading up towards 24. you can see wet weather falling at the golden gate bridge. if you are exercising outside or on the bay everything is caution for the morning wet weather. it will be calmer and drier in

the afternoon. temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s everywhere, and even at 63 in hayward and also in oakland for the warm spots. temperatures mid to upper 60s. we will have low to mid-70s in the east bay, and tonight with it being dry, a little cooler, not as cloudy, 50 to 56 degrees. hour-by-hour look at today's storm next. the rain causing issues, and one on northbound 101, a solo collision before you get to railroad avenue. somebody went 50 feet off the roadway and no lanes are blocked and that's the lighter side of the traffic and that's not a slowdown or anything like that. the second issue, southbound 101 near airport boulevard, we don't have word on lanes that are blocked but it sounds like they are calling for a big rig tow truck and an ambulance at the scene, and we are seeing green conditions approaching. it's wet and slick so take your time this morning. we will check on drive times coming up at 6:20.

the machine and they are looking for the man. and then the reports the woman that put meth in a toddler's mouth assaulted sheriff's deputy. the documents say on monday afternoon thomas said she shoved a tootsy role inside of a toddler's mouth and later admitted it was meth. the little boy was on the playground with his nanny and thomas was a total stranger. the child is still recovering. no word on charges yet regarding the assault on the deputy. and then wanted for sexual assault, and he's in custody this morning. nickerson was hiding out among the city's homeless population. he has many prior arrests. the last one in 2013, and he's

bridge, and the dumbarton bridge, sprinkles to a light shower on both bridges showing up on live doppler 7. the cherry trees and strawberry farms and blueberry farms, and all the farms getting a little sprinkle right now. from 7:00 to 9:00, it tries to push into the south bay and more of the santa cruz mountains will get wet weather than the south bay itself. and then heading towards noon, a good chance of rain out there and then look how quickly it dissipates in the afternoon, and by 4:00 a random light shower and sprinkle out there. by 8:30 when the sun sets, the clouds are starting to open just a little bit as drier air will take over behind the cold front. just about no rain and most of the peninsula in the south bay, and less than 0.1 of an inch everywhere else, and the cold front saturday, it will keep us cooler than average through sunday and back to average on

monday and then summer warmth coming tuesday and wednesday. so far we have not had any major issues for the thursday morning commute even though we have got wet pavement out there, too. one of the problems if we were traveling on southbound 880, we had a multicar crash. never did get word on how many lanes are blocked but we confirmed it's off on the right shoulder right now. as i zoom out just a bit you can see damage done. you are jammed north of state route 92. that should start to improve as we get a little further away from the collision. bay bridge commute looks good, and no issues as you head into san francisco. southbound 680 highway 4 to walnut creek seven pheupbgz, and westbound 24, walnut creek to highway 13, nine minutes, and then tracy into dublin this morning, an hour even. airport workers say they

>> announcer: today's storm is level one, and that means light rain so keep an umbrella handy and drive safely. track today's storm anytime on the abc7 news app. download it now. it's 6:45. happening today, the man responsible for 36 deaths in the gue ghost ship warehouse fire is appearing in court today. he faces 36 charges of involuntary manslaughter for december's fire. this is video you will see only on abc7 news, and this happened on monday after he was arrested. he is now being held at the alameda jail in dublin. and his partner, max harris, they were intentionally deceptive about what was going

on inside the warehouse before the fire. harris is set to come back to the bay area today. he organized the concert the night of the fire. two criminals that maybe did not think things through. a man and woman made off with $30,000 worth of equipment. they broke into a shipment tracking company and they stole two boxes full of tracking devices. that helped employees track the suspects. >> he and fellow officers could track live in their patrol car where these two individuals were driving. >> they saw the suspects drive to san jose, then to a storage unit in union city where there were other stolen goods and eventually a to alameda where they were arrested. there was evidence all over, too, while the suspects were inside one drank a beer and left

fingerprints on the bottle and a bloody tissue was left behind after one of the thieves cut their finger. this is quite the view this video taking us inside a firefight in oakland. it was taken by oakland firefighters. they were inside a home battling a fire yesterday. crew prevented the flames from spreading to nearby homes and thankfully nobody got hurt. the cause of the fire is under investigation but that gives you an idea of what the firefighters go through. we thank them. a san francisco man is out on bail this morning on charges that he filed dozens of fraudulent applications for disabled parking placards. he sold them for as much as $1,000 a piece. he was in court yesterday and prosecutors say he forged doctor signatures on several applications claiming the person was disabled. he faces fines for up to $10,000

for each charge if convicted. and thour media partner reports campuses are making changes by setting goals to double the rate by 2025. here's an example. some schools reward students that take 30 units a year by offering discounts on summer tuition, and some added course sections and added courses over the weekend for students that work during the day. and then celebrating the man that created the pride flag. he designed the iconic flag in san francisco in 1978, and it became the international symbol of gay pride. a celebration at the castro theater is set for 7:00 tonight and you can get in for free and the san francisco gay men's chorus will be performing. >> should be a great tribute. let's get over to mike nicco.

we are tracking june rain moving through. >> one of the areas that will be hard to get to is in the south bay area. a little light showers and breezy right now in san francisco. not all of san francisco is getting wet weather, but there is spots out there, sprinkles to light rain. the rain will turn to a chance of showers, and then another chance in the north bay for wet weather, and saturday, the warming trend begins on monday. storm impact scale still a one, still light, with hardly measurable rain. the breezes will get up to 15 and 20 miles per hour and that's light by storm standards. can you see darker green moving through the areas right now so that could be reaching the ground. also i wanted to show you the richmond san rafael bridge and the golden gate bridge and bay bridge, sprinkles to light showers on these bridges and it's sliding to the south and breaking up as we expect it to do rapidly after the lunch hour.
