5:06 pm
to celebrate. >> go dubs! >> it was great. i got on at 6:10, got here about 6:40. >> reporter: bart anticipated big crowds and added 40 extra cars to handle the masses. >> we planned for this to be one of our busiest days in the history of the system and so far that's proven to be the case. >> reporter: 203,000 riders jumped on bart before the dubs parade began. 20% more than a typical commute day, 20% more than the dubs victory parade. >> how does it feel to be here? >> how do you think it feels? look at this. what a team. >> reporter: coach steve kerr was wowed by the size of the crowds as he ran down the parade route. and when it was over, thousands made a b-line for the 19th street station. >> man, there's a lot of people down here going home. that's why we're sitting here still waiting to clear out a little bit, maybe go find something to eat. >> reporter: the crowd so big many riders were not allowed on the train platform for a while. the entry gates closed.
5:07 pm
>> what we do when we have those crush loads is we'll basically meter the crowds to keep it safe to make sure the platform is not overloaded. >> it's crazy and it's very hectic and it's really hot in here. but it's fun. >> reporter: after the dubs afternoon rally, bart tweeted this advisory letting riders know the 12th and 19th street stations were empty, but lake merritt was filling up. nicole robinson was looking for another way home. >> i'm going to take a-c transit home. >> reporter: you are? why? >> that's going to be impossible. >> reporter: it seemed to be the best bet for dub nation to witness another championship parade. in oakland abc7 news. >> they bought the warriors in 2010 and hoped to turn the team into one of nba's premiere franchises. >> amazing job. for uber that may not be enough. >> same time next year, see you. >> it's a date. uber says they'll be back for another parade next year.
